  1. Love the article, leave it to teenaged boys, eh? What a neat project--that stuff is what I remember from High School. Didn't watch the video because all I know about Shakira is that she seems like the "modern day Charo" (and playing web videos scares me a bit!), but I'm betting Countdown on MSNBC will play it--they usually highlight the latest "best of the Web videos" I'm going to have the kids look at the link, though! Thanks! Liz
  2. Happy Birthday Fubz! Have a terrific day Liz
  3. I've also heard Juno is good!! Now, I've heard time and time again that AOL is hard to get off your computer, but with the freebie disk offers you can get started for 3-6 months, depending on the disk you find (they have them at Burger King), and if you threaten to cancel after the freebie period, they offer you more time free (be prepared to spend some time on the telephone, but it is a 1-800 number). I personally wouldn't chance it, but if you're techy enough to completely remove it from your idiot box when you're done with it, that's another option. *wait for others to chime in on AOL* L
  4. You're an enabler and a bad influence, Chappy...I'm proud of you. Go young man, Go! Liz
  5. How long did it take?!?!? I'm still trying to figure out how Shanenin built it in the first place! (glue? ) Amazing!! Liz

    Grand Mothers

Sure brought back memories, Marty, thanks! A Grandfather can visit just before bedtime, bring lots of candy, get the kids all wound up by playing with them...........and leave (that is until the mommy leaves when Grandfather arrives and makes HIM put the kids to bed..yup, true story!) Liz
  7. Happy Birthday RV! Have a great day! Liz
  8. Me too! Sending that one to BLONDE daughter! Thanks, Bozodog Liz
  9. Brilliant! Copy, paste, email and thanks, JDoors Liz
  10. Your best bet is to shop around like Bozodog said, and once you find one or a few, post the specs, then the experts can advise you a lot better So nice of you to help your Sis out! Liz
  11. And a third vote for what Bozodog and Naming said because it can't be said often enough-- PayPal will NEVER ask you to submit account information through an email--I've gotten PayPal emails concerning "trouble with your account" or "suspended account" and they look mighty authentic--I KNEW it was a scam because I don't have a PayPal account Liz
  12. *happy dance happy dance happy dance for Macmarauder, happy dance for Macmarauder* I'm so glad that you and Fatma finally got together! I remember you mentioning her and she sounds like a keeper. My bet with the sore throat is post nasal drip. It hurts the back of the throat and can cause swelling. Finally got "caught up" today on vacumming/freezer cleaning/laundry from the aftermath of our "Michigan Hurricane" and the 4 day power outage. Even managed to do some gardening! Helped the next door neighbor put her flowerbed back together after 3 huge walnut branches fell on it. Then the cou
  13. Keep 'em coming, Barb! That is beautiful......from far, far away Liz
  14. It's been fast for a long time and glad to know it wasn't on my end! Liz
  15. Oh, boy did I think of those photos Monday night! Son and I were on our back porch watching a "Michigan Hurricane" and lightning hit in our back yard! I think the bolt was about 8 feet wide. My feet tingled and I heard the loudest noise I've ever heard--my ears HURT BAD for about 6 hours afterwards (didn't bother Son a bit!). Luckily, the power was already out or we'd be replacing a bunch of electronics, I'm sure. The only casualty was the telephone. I decided lightning is beautiful, far, far away.... Liz
  16. Happy Birthday, Bobbi and Naming! Hope you both have a terrific day Liz
  17. $2.93, Dan? OK, you're only a couple hours from me, what the heck?? Must be life in a tourist town that drives the prices up. No silver lining, JDoors--our electric bill is usually $45 month, so $1.50 day. 4 days = $10+ for ice for the freezers, $9.00 for coffee for the thermos=$4.75 day, not counting the gas or the stuff we had to pitch out of the freezer, or when Hubby declared he was sick of grill food and sandwiches and ordered pizza (we have a gas stovebut without the exhaust fan, it would heat up an already hot house). I now realize electricty is cheap! MY silver lining is city wate
  18. That's it, I'm moving South! Been $3.19 up here, too. AND couple that with twice a day coffee and ice trips for the past four days because the power's been out, I've been waving "bye-bye to the paycheck" Liz
  19. A Belated Happy Birthday Jeff! (no power!) Glad you had a great day. Now, drive carefully Liz

  22. Glad you had a good time, DD and thank you for sharing your time with those kids. I know they must have had an absolute blast with you as their counselor Liz
  23. Happy Birthday, Sharber and Amp! Hope you both have a wonderful day Liz
  24. I was just at Drew's World earlier tonight, saw that Drew was online there, but it must have been his brother-in-law. I'm completely stunned and saddened. My prayers will be with his family. Rest in peace, Drew. Liz
  25. With all the rain you get out there, you don't get vicious lightening like that, Pat? Wow, I just figured you did! I loved to go out on the porch or drive out to Lake Michigan and watch it....before we got Sandydog, that is Even though she wants Hubby's or Son's lap (she wants the biggest human in the house, smart dog), she won't let me go out to the porch! She'll jump off the lap just long enough to find me and whine till I go back inside. Marty, it's beautiful, you don't know what you're missing! Liz
