Oh wow, Naming! Those scared me just looking at them!! (Barb, take a look at THOSE!!) Experienced a tornado once while in Kentucky. Never want to experience another one! I'll never forget the sound Us Michiganders decided blizzards weren't as bad as tornados--at least snow eventually melts Snyper, probably Southern Midwest--Texas, Kansas and Oklahoma seem to be the tornado spots. Our nearest Aldi's does the quarter deposit thing, too, Dan (great produce , but darn it, they don't accept checks--with Son's appetite, I NEED to write a check so I rarely shop there, besides, it's 25 miles away) Anywayssssss I like the deposit thing! I too park the cart in the corral or offer it to a shopper. "The wheels are good" is a great advertisement to get a shopper to take the cart! On the other hand, if I'm bringing bottles back, it is awfully handy to have a cart parked right by the car! And I tend to look for "misplaced carts" when I have a couple bags of bottles Cart riding,

Hi Mannofr and welcome to the forums! Sometimes a particular forum will have a "down time"--I imagine with the pleasant weather, folks are tinkering with the lawn mowers instead of the computers. It'll pick up. Meanwhile, cruise through the rest of BT's--we have an active Open Chat, On the Web and Comedy forum this time of year! Yeah, where are Brian and KB? My kids' College apartment has cows next door to it. They come to "moo" and like people. Anyone know if cows eat like horses, like apples and carrots?? Liz

Sounds like some of the places I've worked! "Sick Days We will no longer accept a doctor's statement as proof of sickness. If you are able to go to the doctor, you are able to come to work." Exactly! If you're well enough to drive to the Doctor's office and spend two hours in the waiting room and cubby hole, then spend another hour at the pharmacy, yup, might as well go to work and get paid for your wasted time! Hubby's workplace has a "sick pay with Doctor's slip". He has never gotten sick pay (I suppose if one broke a bone or ended up in the hospital, OK, but for a "bug"?? Hubby says "st

What Do Retired People Do All Day?, Billy Connolly On Retirement!

Ohhhh, that is sooo something my Dad would do. Not printing this out for him, he doesn't need any ideas! Liz -
When my son says, "ummm..... Mom??" the hairs on my neck stand up. He needs this technique! Liz

Wow! That is so cool. I can't begin to imagine creating something like that without a cartoonist's flip book and lots of time. Thanks, Marty Liz

Aww, Naming, you don't get clouds like that?!? I suppose most folks in Michigan would just take that for granted, but we always love to look at the sky when a front is rolling in. Best place is to drive to Lake Michigan and watch them come over the lake. Beautiful! Our own little version of "big sky country". And yes, we are weather idiots in Michigan--if there is ever a tornado warning, the first thing we do is run outside to look at the sky mmmm--are they real shakes made with ice cream, Pat? We're lucky enough to have a soda fountain in our town (they even know what a "malted" means! I

Having Trouble Finding The Correct Specs About Ram
blim replied to macmarauder's topic in Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista, and XP
I'm with Sethook and Hondaboy--either a dud stick or trust what Crucial says (you don't have to buy it from them, but from what I've read, their recommendations are spot on) Could it be that if there are two slots for Ram that both slots "want to be filled"?? I've read that, too. Sometimes an empty ram slot feels left out and revolts. And whispers very quietly, "I have 256 gigawatts of Ram and XP works just great on my Dell" I know, I know...I'm ducking. Owww, throw donuts, not rocks!! Gosh, I can't believe I'm actually responding to a techpost from Macmarauder.....I'm humbled. I'm probabl -
I see it now, too! Sneaky lil critter anyways.... Liz

Marty had it in his original post but I'm not seeing it anymore, either, so it's not on your end, Snyder. Marty, Marty, Marty....what did you do with it? Liz
-
Well, I didn't understand a lot of it, but I'm impressed!! Naming is right, if you don't need the help files (and I know you don't!) might as well throw 'em out. Liz

I'm lousy at riddles and math so I didn't even look at the link but could it be the 20th prime number? Whatever that is....1,3, 5, 7, ummm, ok that's all I got....ooh, 11, 13, 17, ok, now I'm done.... Liz

Not today!! No "Michigan Hurricane" this time, only typical boomer with "merely" 50mph wind gusts. I guess Dan and Bozodog maybe got a punch, though, according to the newscasts. Best thing, didn't lose power and no trees down around here. Phew. I must say that this morning when it got so dark I had to turn lights on (looked like 10pm at 11am), the first thing I did was brew a pot of coffee before the power went out. Not going without coffee! THEN I took the fans out of the windows and unplugged the computers You know where my priorities lie! Liz

The top two rows are what came through here this morning. Pretty clouds from local news station site **whoops** click the "severe" photo to see the clouds, guess the copy and paste didn't work like I thought it would! Liz

Toe sack, Bearskin? Oooooh, potato sack, right? I was trained to use a pillowcase (and everyone under 30 is saying "what the heck are they talking about?") Here, it was also looking for the "White Witch of White Lake" Liz

Hi Snyper and welcome to BT's! Have a look around, jump in, put your feet up and enjoy! I'm Liz, I just run amuck here..... "niggles" I like that! Liz

Happy Birthdays, Subratram and Carnevil! Hope you both have a wonderful day Liz

Do make sure you keep us posted, Robroy. Best of all, her "heartquirk" has been caught and diagnosed, which means she will be monitored closely--which means chances of her having a second attack will be lessened! Again, Sister in law is doing fantastic since the "stent tweak" and it's been two years! Liz
-
Wow, it's beautiful, Marty, absolutely beautiful! I've tried carving-- not for me because I'm not talented enough! I sure can appreciate your GGGrandfather's talent! Thank you for sharing it! Liz
-
Oh my gosh, Robroy! I'm so glad she came out of it ok! My sister in law has stints from a heart attack, too--keep an eye on those things as she's had to have hers "tweaked" (not nearly as invasive as the original procedure, "piece of cake", she said) Spoil her rotten! I KNOW you'll support her with quitting smoking! Liz

Funny how you used DixieDorks as an example--I'm not a country music fan, either, but it was amusing how they "Bush bashed", lost fans, "apologized", lost more fans, "backtracked the apology", lost enough fans to have to cancel concerts--it was the "flip flopping" that irritated me. If I were a fan, I'd feel kinda taken advantage of. I remember "back in the old days" when an artist expressed his or her views with their ART, not media interviews One thing is that it can work both ways--think of Bono and all the good he's trying to do Liz
