  1. Hey mac, I saw a good show the other day on the Science Channel. The show was called "In The Name Of Science". They built a floating arm Trebuchet. It was made out of "I" beams, and was 4 stories tall. The wheels, and axle, they used on it, were from a railroad car. The counterweight was a mix of concrete, filled with scrap iron, and had a weight of 24,000 lbs. (12 tons). This thing was awsome! They built it to throw upright pianos. On the first attempt, it launched with so much force, it ripped the nylon net, being used as a sling, and tore through the piano, shredding it. The second attempt
  2. Your avatar is taken directly off of your harddrive, but to put any other image on these forums, you have to host them, with an image hosting site. Which means you have to upload them to the host site. There are several hosting sites available, Photobucket, ImageShack, and one I found for handplane, that I believe is called, ImgHolder. The one I use most often is Photobucket. You don't have to install anything, to use it, but you have to sign up for an account (free), to be able to keep track of, and manage your images. The file types that you can upload to it are, jpg, gif, png, bmp, swf. The

  4. After you log in to Photobucket, there should be a screen that says "Add Pictures". Click the "Browse" button. Then navigate to the picture on your harddrive, that you want to add, click it, then click "Open". Then click the "Submit" button. Your picture will begin uploading to Photobucket. When it's through, your picture will be displayed on the page, with different ways to display it (Url, Tag, Img) on different sites. If you want to submit more than one picture at a time, use the "Submit Multiple Pictures" box. Click the arrow, and chose anywhere from 1-19. Then, as I explained above, brows
  5. Tornado proof, HA, HA, HA, yeah, right. Go ahead and screw around with Mother Nature. She'll turn around and slap you upside the head, so hard, you won't know what hit you. Does the term, "unsinkable", sound familiar to anyone? 110 mph winds. The tornados, he's been playing with, are babies. I want to see him tangle with a Cat 5, 300+ mph!!! Then we'll see how "tornado proof" his truck is, when it goes sailing off into the next county.

    Mars

MARS SPECTACULAR! The Red Planet is about to be spectacular! This month and next, Earth is catching up with Mars in an encounter that will culminate in the closest approach between the two planets in recorded history. The next time Mars may come this close is in 2287. Due to the way Jupiter's gravity tugs on Mars and perturbs its orbit, astronomers can only be certain that Mars has not come this close to Earth in the Last 5,000 years, but it may be as long as 60,000 years before it happens again. The encounter will culminate on August 27th when Mars comes to within 34,649,589 miles of Earth a

  17. Whenever you download a program, as bozodog said, choose save to disk. That way if you ever have a problem, it's just a matter of falling back to a previous version. This is the way I do it: In the My Documents folder, I have a folder named Installers. In the Installers folder, I have I, II & III. (I try to limit the size of these folders to around 600MB. That way I can burn the whole folder to a disk.) In each of those folders, I have folders for each program; Firefox, Ad-aware, Spybot, Irfanview, etc.... In each of these folders, I have a folder for each version; Firebird v0.7, Firefox
