  1. *We* don't fear you darlin', we love you..... and your genius.
  2. No, just a choking sound as it regurgitates the blue screen.
  3. Yeah, a 7million $ settlement? Duh0!
  4. A good surge protector carries a guarentee for thousands of $$$. And will kick off power when a surge happens. Unfortunatly, it doesn't protect against "brownouts" or power cutoffs. Now that causes a hard shut down of the machine. And that's not good for the HDD, it causes the heads to crash on the disk like and old turntable on a record. (remember those kids?) I shut off my computer, and just switch off the surge protector. But if anything is plugged in at all a nearby strike can fry lots of stuff. I even have my TV on a SP.... Better safe then sorry. A HDD can only take so many hard shutdow
  5. God love ya Mac, but sometimes I can't tell if it's your spelling or just typos. Heh heh and even sometimes I can't even decipher some of the words. So here's a gift for you. WordWeb Now this is a big help for me, but I'll admit I spell some words so badly the program can't find them either.. Ok, so no watermelons.... how about cantalopes? Weeeeee!
  6. Yeah, Blim. When I moved here to the z00 we had two. Both are gone now... There is one in some little town nearby, Hartford I think. While visiting friends in Traverse City a few years ago, we went to one in Lynns 1956 Chrysler 300.. What "back to the future" trip that was... I'm not sure I'd like to sit through 2 whole movies in todays little bitty cars.
  7. Well, the dang thing is almost 14,000 pounds, and very close to the ground. If anything it would tumble like a 7 ton leaf.... Blim?? Don't you remember the tornado that ripped threw Kalamazoo? That bugger started on M-43 about 25 miles from So. Haven and hippity hopped due east for 30 miles and tore up downtown real good. Blew the whole roof off of a large auto dealership just around the corner from my house. (about 1/2 mile away) Funny though, my pear tree never lost a petal off the flowers. Then again, you are much farther north.
  8. Marty you need to join an on-line host for the pics. Like photobucket It's free, you up-load your pics and even flash there and link it here. Very easy. That's what the IMG code button is for. Or PhotoBucket does it for you already coded. Just remember, if you take the image out of your host it dissapears here.
  9. Here's a topic from my Sweet Brit's ISP help forum in the UK. It might belong in the window help or hardware section, but it's real funny Posted: Sat Jul 23, 2005 5:23 pm Post subject: (bug)ger me! Sorry for the title, but it is relevant... i've got a little bug crawling around inside my LCD monitor. It looks like its behind the LCD but in front of the backlight. It's not there all the time and hopefully it will die before it grows and gets stuck! Posted: Sat Jul 23, 2005 5:29 pm It will be more annoying if it died in front of the backlight and you get stuck with a little black thing
  10. he built the TIV (Tornado Intercept Vehicle), a long-wheelbase 1997 Ford F-450 diesel dually pickup. No one at Ford would recognize it, though. The body has been replaced by inexpertly welded thick steel plates, and incorporates a roof turret housing the large IMAX film camera. Occupants peer out through prison-window Lexan portals. Story and pics here
  11. Now that is just too funny! Hahahahhaha!
  12. Maybe he's a closet liberal... I sure wouldn't get in line for gas... Guess I'm lucky, our town is small and I can go over two weeks on a fill up doing all the errands and getting to work.
  13. Ooohh Mac! How kewl is that? Dang beam me to Macs yard sale.... I love pinball! (*notices Mac is a good lookin' guy and gives him a big *squeeze*) How far were you able to pitch things? What did you pitch? I'd like one that threw watermelons high enough to blow up with a shotgun.
  14. Great, Blim. Thanx. *switches on the sonar, radar, and laser tracking systems. Weeeeee! Who needs a pilot? Mac, you just keep us on the right page of the map book. We'll be ok. Don't forget we need to stop for burgers, donuts, rootbeer floats, and even a drive-in movie once in a while. Find a drive-in movie in your location here.
  15. Fault was with the business I was dispatched to, for a package pick-up. Their recieving dock area was always a nitemare of ice. I pointed it out to them earlier in the winter. That morning we had a light dusting of snow that covered a mirror-like sheet of ice. Zip, bang, down I went. Then he couldn't even stand up to help me up. I had to crawl to the edge to get a grip before he fell on me. I didn't fall on my wrist like most do. (I know to tuck and roll) So when I hit the ground, my arm flung out and crashed on a lump of ice. ~CRACK~ I heard. All this pain and bother for 50 cents worth of r
  16. Jeesch, Blim. I seldom even watch the "propaganda" local stations. If I watch news at all it's FOX.. I hate the fluff and time spent on "national" news, when they should be covering more of the local stuff.... Good or bad. We get WOOD and WWMT, have cable so the world is open to us. And no, there was no panic here that I noticed.

    Fast Dsl

There is a trial going on in Scotland right now. My sweet Brit is a geek and ISP pro... (see www.pipexsupport.com it's his baby) So maybe a little more research on the subject is warrented. As a matter of fact, here in the US, Donald Trump is installing the system in a couple of his sky-rise buildings in NYC.
  18. Chit! What's up with that? Folks are on *panic* mode with gas prices. And wouldn't ya know Grandholm (the Canadian liberal) would have "under paid workers" fired to push her re-election campaign. For heavens sake! We *still* pay less than the rest of the world for gas. Maybe it's time for the whinners to get smaller cars or plan their trips for running around. In fact, I figure if you can afford a new "gas hog" SUV, you should just shuddup and deal with it.
  19. [rant] Damn, went to the docs... (for those of you that don't know I had a slip and fall on ice accident in Feb. cracked two places and crushed one end of the "rubbing" end of my radius. [wrist]) Well, I'm kinda chomping at the bit to get 100% and wondering why I still hurt and don't have full range of motion yet. The doc said it's gonna be at least 8 more months and maybe never 100%. WTF???? All this pain, maybe never right again for 50 cents of rock salt? I wanna sue the sum-na-guns arse off! I have been starving on 65% of my pay for 6 months. Had a 10% raise in March that I can't collect
  20. "CRICKETS!" Whoo Hoooo I deliver them to a bait shop. Nice little cardboard boxes with screened windows. I love to hear them chirp. Does anyone remember the formula to tell the temparture by how fast they chirp?
  21. Blim, we also have a nice D/L manager that puts all the programs into to the correct folder everytime. Although I have to choose my pic file if I'm adding images.
  22. Ohh Blim. Still on the Gateway from hell? Jeesh! (bragging a bit here) The Brit made me reformat a customers computer with 98... Was a real learning experience. Now if I do it 10-100 more times........... heh heh

    Firefox 1.1

I still can't figure out why everybody is on the Firefox band wagon. I have been using the full Mozilla suite for years. I love it, it's fast , secure, and stable. I use some of the extra features, but not all. Tabbed browsing and the added Google toolbar makes it a fine application.
  24. Mac, if their "religious leaders" would quit preaching hatred and violence at the most "brain washable" this could mostly be over. It's not temper tantrums, it's POWER! It's not the perpartraitors of the violence, it's the manipulators of the vulnerable minds. Sorry, I still say hang them all!
