While driving in Pennsylvania, a family caught up to an Amish carriage. The owner of the carriage obviously had a sense of humor, because attached to the back of the carriage was a hand printed sign... "Energy efficient vehicle: Runs on oats and grass. Caution: Do not step in exhaust."

The other night I was invited out for a night with "the girls." I told my husband that I would be home by midnight, "I promise!" Well, the hours passed and the margaritas went down way too easy. Around 3 a.m., a bit loaded, I headed for home. Just as I got in the door, the cuckoo clock in the hall started up and cuckooed three times. Quickly, realizing my husband would probably wake up, I cuckooed another nine times. I was really proud of myself for coming up with such a quick-witted solution (even when totally smashed), in order to escape a possible conflict with him. The next morning my husb

sure do Blim. It's so irritating. It also used to ruin the early big screen TVs by burning in, if you're like me and leave a news channel on most of the time. First it was junk mail, the phone sales, and now right in our living rooms on top of our show of choice. At least we can get rid of it on our computers.

[bIG RANT] What is the problem with TV channels lately? Every dang channel has more pop-ups then a crapwared computer. It all started with the little logo bug in the corner, and now it's rampant all ove the screen. Damn, damn, adverts everywhere! Aaaargggg! Mac! Invent a little black box to stop iiiiiiittttttt!!!!!!!!!!!!! (please?) [/bIG RANT]

Oohh, you bet I turn my garden under with a fork. My tiller chops up all the worms... And I want them living in there. And staggered plantings are a must. Who wants only one round of radishes or lettuce? I also rotate the placement of plants every year. Tomatoes and zuchinni always go where the peas and beans were. Blim I do intensive planting, very close together and indeterminate varities all on trellises. Using the reenforcing 6"x6" wire from the concrete place. I buy it in 5'x10' pieces. one piece makes a perfect sized cage for 6 tomatoe plants or 6 cukes... one is big enough to grow all

You're welcome. Good luck.

Life Before the Computer - an application was for employment; a program was a TV show; a cursor used profanity; a keyboard was a piano; memory was something that you lost with age; a CD was a bank account; if you had a 31/4 inch floppy, you hoped nobody found out! Compress was something you did to garbage Not something you did to a file And if you unzipped anything in public You'd be in jail for awhile! Log on was adding wood to a fire Hard drive was a long trip on the road A mouse pad was where a mouse lived And a backup happened to your commode! Cut - you did with a pocket knife Paste you di

Dunno tenmm, I'm breathing before and after. So I suspect so.

Next year you should mulch with straw, Blim. This is the 1st year I didn't and I'm going crazy with the weeding. I usually buy enough in the fall to cover the garden for the winter, and save a few bales for spring planting. Cover the whole garden about 4-6" deep, and plant right through it. For rows of seed, pull it back and then cover right up to the plants when they get big enough. It also does a great job conditioning my gravely soil, you should see the worms in the spring. Best manure around. I'm looking forward to that "senior" status. (I'm getting close) Just think about the discounts!

Me too, Blim. But my favorite is the purple one with all the chrome. The pic does not do the paint job justice. It was so deep, you felt like falling in. And lots of the colors didn't show up. It was at nite and I think the flash washed it out too much. (or it coulda been the photographer) I hope to see that one again this year in the daytime.... Keeping old cars is a labor of love. Those street rod guys drive on the roads everywhere. And then go home and polish every little nook and cranny. Many years it rains all during the show. Doesn't seem to phase them a bit.
