  2. Thanks Liz, Yep am ejoying having hubby home...so far anyhow!!! Ha!!! Actually seems like less stress with him here so am not worrying about him in traffic snarls etc during bad weather. Speaking of bad weather...oh my!!! Definitely the infamous NW monsoon seaason has started with a vengence! We are enduring a 'Pineapple Express' tropical storm via Hawaii right now, the tail end of a typhoon that hit the Philipines last week. Lots and lots of rain, wind, mild temperatures, and did I mention lots and lots of heavy rain? flooding, and lots more of the storm yet to come today and tomorrow!!! W
  3. Hello Marty, Thanks for the scoop on that browser. I hadn't even heard of it before. Just checked a link I had on reviews of browsers...and here is what it had to say about phaseout. I haven't done a Google search for pros and cons of it though. This quote is from:Research Launchpad older review of Alternative Browsers "PhaseOut is a specialty browser really aimed at gamers, chatters, and people running more than one monitor. It has a Flash interface and is highly visual and interactive. The big feature here is the ease of use in full screen mode. If you have two monitors, this browser is a go

  9. Hello everybody!!! Hugs to all, especially Mac!!! Sorry about your job loss Mac!!! Something better will come along for you. I sure have missed seeing ya'all while we were busy with our little world here at home and last days of hubby's job. Got a lot of medical appointments and procedures done in case there was a time gap in insurance coverage while switching to Cobra continuing coverage. Please pray for hubby that he doesn't have to have prostate surgery, that the pills will work. He had the first 'rotor-rooter' surgery in 1993, and they say he may have to have it done again but with the ne

  13. Hi Marsh, found your post about this over on Mike's BD thread, and answered you there, so will just copy and paste my comments from there to here and go back and edit them off that thread in a minute. "Hello Marsh, welcome back over here!!! I was over there late last night, saw that your screen name had changed!!! Wondered what I missed while I was away for a couple of days, but if you managed to get that supyall (or whatever he called himself) troll out then hoooray for you!!! You shouldn't have been banned at all, but praised!!! It seems strange to see you there with a different screen na
  14. Happy birthday Mike Please forgive me to say hello Sultan and Pat will understand I got banned, but took supy with me haha Marsh Hello Marsh, welcome back over here!!! (continued comments are over on Marsh's thread now.) Thanks Mike for letting us gab on other matters on your BD thread, sorry about all the confusion! Edited to say I just found Marsh's thread about all this elsewhere on BT boards, so will copy/paste my comments made here over to there for him to find, and now will delete most of them here. Pat God bless everyone
  15. Welcome back JSKY, we have missed you!!! Congratulations on the new job, remember to take time to deep breathe every now and then, to de-stress from "the fast lane". Hubby will soon be looking for a new job too. Got caught in the ongoing Intel layoffs, but gets a good severance package that will sure help out. Hard to think about a new job at his age...just turned 63. Had hoped to stay at Intel until he retired. Sure hope and pray something good turns up for him. He likes to keep busy, but with falling off a ladder on Labor Day he hasn't been able to do much. Nothing broken but lots of sore mu

  19. Your mentioning the toilet paper reminded me of the occasional news story about someone installing a hidden camera in the ladys bathroom in a store or restaurant taking pics of us poor unsuspecting gals. Some of the hiding spots have been pretty ingenious, making it impossible for us gals to easily spot where one is!!! I'd sure be mad if someone did that to me!!! And it had definitely better not be company placed in work place bathrooms unless the company likes lawsuits!!! The legal surveillance cameras that bug me the most are the red light traffic cameras that catch cars even on a yellow lig
  20. I agree with Liz, hatchbacks are great!!! Our 1990 Suburu Justy (Turquoise) is a hatchback and even though it's a subcompact we can haul all sorts of stuff. Biggest thing ever was a Lazy-Boy dark brown vinyl rocker/recliner that I found at a thrift shop for under $50 in perfect condition. Tight fit and hatch didn't close but we securely roped door down to hold it in... though we had to maneuver chair around a bit to find the right way to fit it in, we were able to get it in and out without any damage!!! We always carry rope and a warning flag for whatever we might buy, such as lumber, 8ft 2x
  21. Thanks so much for the information Barb. Will keep it on hand if needed someday. Many NW people charter buses to go up to Canada for their medicine, though maybe not so many seniors now that Medicare covers drugs! Our state has a measure on this fall's ballot to let everyone who doesn't have drug coverage to get into the State of Oregon drug purchasing pool, so everyone without drug coverage can have a chance at more reasonably priced drugs. Last poll I saw about it was it looked very favorable for passage, also no opposition against the measure which helps. But we will have Cobra coverage for
  22. Congratulations all of you on your special birthdays. May you each be blessed with a long life filled with good health, happiness, and prosperity. Pat God bless everyone
  23. Thanks so much for those links TT, very very useful chart on first one, and the break even one to, and the various links on those pages onward. Thank You TT for taking time to look those up for me. I really appreciate it. I had planned to check SS site out later on if hubby started getting antsy if he doesn't get a job for a long time and savings going downhill. Though might be better to start tapping his IRA before doing early SS. Would have to do the math on it down the road if we need to look into it. Am hoping this is all a short term worry and that he will get a good job soon with good
  24. Who me? Unhuh, never me running amok, walking right into amok, yeah!!! No problems to worry about from me Chappy, though my hair might be a tad or so thinner (and grayer) by the time you get back... what with the panic mode attacks of pulling out my hair over stress of hubby losing job at Intel end of next month!!! And the dreaded feeling that I too might have to do the dreaded reinstall on this computer...what with all it's usual on again, off again problems for ages, and now the whole new set of problems caused by that stupid Google toolbar piece of garbage upgrade the other day if it does
