  1. Thank You for the BD wishes Flatiron, What online daily devotions do you use? You may have told me awhile back but I have forgotten. I am always looking for good new devotion sites. Mac, thank you for making me smile and even chuckle (though never got your dancing site link given above to load...I am on dialup so maybe that was it...or? Did see it on another thread last night and loved it!!!) during this very tough week for hubby and I. Will update you all in the cafe soon. We are surviving ok I think though. Thanks everyone for your good wishes for my birthday. I luv ya!!! Pat God bless eve
  2. Mac I am so proud of you for actually dancing in the street...daylight too!!! Yep I had to use your photobucket link with my Win2000. The others never loaded for me for whatever reason. Thanks so much for dedicating it to me!!! (Wow, I can't remember the last time someone dedicated something to me!) You are such a sweetie!!! Here's a hug for your going through with the dancing!!! You did it and I am proud of you my young friend!!! You set out to conguer a fear and did it up in style!!! Someday I'll come back here and tell all my deep dark fears...yeah right!!!....don't anyone hold their b
  3. Thank You all for the wonderful birthday greetings! Hugs to everyone. Happy Birthday Mike, sure would be nice to be your age again!!! May you be blessed with a long life filled with good health, happiness, and prosperity. Pat God bless everyone
  4. So your proud your a theif? Your proud you take programs (and other media) that people work long and hard on, that they put a price tag for their labor on, and use it with out paying for them for their time? How the hell can you justify this? Even better, how is it you feel you need to brag about it? Do you have a job/career? Would you brag so much if you labored hours on end, on say... building a vehicle. However, only 7 out of 10 people paid you for this vehicle. Would you still be bragging that you are a con artist? Good grief, I feel like I'm back out G4 with your kind of mentality ranning
  5. The local PBS station just ran a series on the subject! How Art Made The World "Acclaimed Cambridge University lecturer Dr. Nigel Spivey takes viewers on a quest to comprehend mankind's unique capacity to understand and explain the world through artistic symbols. Far more than a survey of art history, HOW ART MADE THE WORLD explores the essential functions art served in early civilizations and, in some cases, still serves in modern society." Another quote (eerily similar to what you wrote): "... Spivey explores the latest thinking by historians, neuroscientists and psychologists regarding the
  6. Have you scanned with your Norton antivirus to see if any bad stuff is actually on your computer? Have you scanned with antispyware programs too? I didn't mean that you should uninstall Webroot...just the AOL stuff. I have heard good things about Webroot software. As for turning off your firewall, nooo!!! The internet is a dangerous place and you need one firewall, one antivirus, and some say only one antispyware program too though others say you can run more than one at a time. I think it depends on what you use. I use F-Secure Internet Security Suite which doesn't like other programs that co
  7. I was up in middle of the night last night feeding my sick little kitty cat (a round the clock thing lately) when the kitchen cupboards and dishes/pans etc all started rattling and I looked up and hanging plants above windows were shaking too. Lasted a good minute. Cat was scared, but then she has been panicky lately at the drop of a hat even if only in her imagination anyhow. So just remembered to check it out on my Wunderground weather site which has an earthquake section, and it listed a place I never heard of (turns out it was a zip code census name). So checked my earthquake links, and f
  8. Spearing... a type of fishing. Pat God bless everyone
  9. Hi, I haven't even seen a thinkpad, so don't know if works the same as a desktop/laptop...but am guessing it does. So some basic questions here. What version of Windows? Have you changed the time clock to your exact time? The time clock needs to be pretty close to accurate for Windows updates I have heard. Also am wondering if there is a setting somewhere to change location from US to India? Or is does that only apply for changing to another lanquage? Are there any settings in the aol things that need to be changed to India based? Why are you using AOL stuff? There are free antispyware pro
  10. Those pics are beautiful in an eerie sort of way yet there is somehow a feeling of great danger close at hand even if you had never seen or heard of any cloud like that you know it's potential. Scary! I sure never want to see something like that!!! I'd match a volcanic eruption ash cloud with other sections of the country's bad weather storm clouds, if I had more energy to do a search for the nearby Mt St Helens in 1980 blowing her top off. Quoting Liz, mmmm--are they real shakes made with ice cream, Pat? We're lucky enough to have a soda fountain in our town (they even know what a "malted" m
  11. Yes to whoever (Marty? and was it even in this thread?) asked, Do we not have freedom of speech here? Yes we do, and we have fought to keep our freedom of speech, but that freedom also gives us the freedom to not only disagree with it but to not listen to it if we so choose. So who gives the celebrities the Power to Influence by weight of celebrity status others with whatever they say? Especially if it is not a part of their art but just their own views? The media reports whatever they say or do, because people seem to be fascinated with anything and everything a celebrity says or does! If peo
  12. Walmart....the worst place with so many mean drivers of cars and shopping carts. oh yeah lazy too! Why is it they seem to care less there for how they treat other people and other people's belongings? To save money (to pay for their giant SUV's?) they shop at Walmart but take it out on everyone and everything around, it seems to me. My hubby and I call it the Walmart syndrome after the last of only a very few shopping trips there over the last several years but every time had drivers driving dangerously and even trying to run us over as we tried to walk safely to and from the car/store, and al
  13. Glad it wasn't as bad as that really bad storm you had! Yeah I think you did the priority thing about right, though I probably would have done computer unplug first if I'm in here next to it...if I'm in kitchen...then it would be hit the coffee pot on button first (I use a thermos for my hot coffee during day then fix coffee pot up for next round so it is nearly always ready to start) then head to computer room. In the winter time when bad storms are predicted, I always start a big kettle of soup in my Dazey soup pot even though I can easily do soup on the wood stove if needed..lifelong habit
  14. Sure am glad to hear you are doing better Mac!!! Yep Barb, it sure does look like he's back to his normal wacky loveable antics....Yea!!! Luv ya Mac!!! Hugs!!! Pat God bless everyone
  15. Very Interesting Marty, Thanks for sharing it with us. Isn't it amazing that all cultures of the world past and present go to whatever means necessary to express themselves and leave a record for the future generations? It is like an inborn drive to not be forgotten and to describe the life they lead so it will have lasting value and not be in vain. So many ways, totem poles, masks, drawings on cliff walls, burial chamber items and art, grave stone epitaphs, carvings in wood or stone, paintings, so many ways in the past to communicate with all who choose to take the time to listen and see. We
  16. Pretty but ominous, (did I spell that right?)! So did they pack a punch? Pat God bless everyone
  17. Not a blonde, but I'm still trying to figure out what the question was let alone the answer!!! Pat God bless everyone

  20. Hi Snyper, Enjoy the best board around, we are like family albeit a far flung one strung around the world. New Zealand, Ireland, Canada, here in the USA and maybe from other countries too that I have forgotten. As Barb said (and you are seeing here now) we are a bit wacky but you'll get used to us...I hope!!! Now watch out for absentminded people like me calling you snipe instead...and it's all bearskin's fault... ha!!! Yep bearskin, my Dad (a Hoosier) used to pull the snipe hunt gunny sack trick on anyone gullible enough to fall for it.... and many in our rural community did in the 40's and
  21. I didn't watch the video on the link either, but did see part of it on the local news...funny funny funny!!! I remember hamming it up to songs with my friends at school. One sticks in my mind as probably the most ridiculous song ever written, John/Marsha over and over again ad nauseam, so was perfect for clowning with a guy friend also a ham! Sure cracked everyone up with our act!!! Soooooo glad video cameras and camera phones weren't around way back then!!! Pat God bless everyone
  22. I'm sure glad she is doing better now!!! Am praying for a complete recovery. Scary stuff to go through all that but could have been so much worse as so many first heart attacks are often fatal. Glad to hear that she is not smoking anymore. That will be a great plus for her recovery now and future good health. Take care of her and yourself too, and both of you take time to destress after all that has happened. Pat God bless everyone.
  23. Check out Fry's if available in your area with a Local (be sure) access number. Only three months are free, but after that it is reasonable at $9.88 a month. The good news is not only is it cheap but it is Unlimited ...no time cut offs!!!. Also has up to ten mail boxes available. I have been thinking about trying it someday myself. Fry's dialup internet service Pat God bless everyone
  24. Happy Birthday Fubz, May you be blessed with a long life filled with good health, happiness, and prosperity. Pat God bless everyone
  25. Good Grief Chappy, running amok now has a dress style code? But what if I want to just wear old jeans and a sloppy shirt with pizza stains on it? Do I have to go change to something dressy just to run amok? But that takes all the impulsive fun out of running amok? Ha Ha Ha!! Sorry about that my friend, just had to kid you in 'retaliation'!!! Ha! I am glad you showed me how to do those icon things right, and told me that I had left a trail of mixed up metaphors in my wake. Or put another way...old posts come back to bite you when you least expect it....!!!! Oh my there I go off on a tangen
