  1. Wow, lucky you to be able to have time and money to go to Europe!!! I think this site might give you some great Italian travel ideas. Other countries available too...in fact I started with the USA pages awhile back via a link from another site. Destinations 360 Italy This armchair travel site has loads of information to whet your appetite for real travel. Pat God bless everyone
  2. Our local paper recently started doing a web site of the week and some of them are very interesting, like the one this past week. This article from Oregonian will only be freely available less than 2 weeks. Bottom link is for the website they are talking about. Warning: it is slooooow to load on dial-up. Also be sure to scroll way way down on main page for more info. Individual pics have more details of how and why. Snack on these eye teasers by Steve Woodward Optical Illusions and Visual Phenomena Have fun with this site folks. Pat God bless everyone
  3. Hello there Xm, Welcome to the forums. Open Chat (scroll down the main index to find it under Community) is the best place for just plain gabbing with all of us. Have a good Thanksgiving dinner tomorrow! Don't eat to much. You could always do a virtual sharing of leftovers with everyone in our Cafe (stickied in Open Chat section). I am sure there will be willing takers of whatever good leftovers people come up with. Hubby and I are eating out, so we may want some leftover turkey and stuffing. And I am always ready to eat pie, but not mincemeat...ugh! So come on over!!! Pat God bless everyo
  4. Happy Thanksgiving folks!!! Hubby and I are so thankful for all God's blessings!!! We will continue to trust God to provide for all our needs in this new season of our lives as HE has provided for us for so many years already, Praise God!!! Drive carefully, enjoy your holiday, have a piece of pie for me (not mincemeat...ugh!!!) Love to all. Pat God bless everyone
  5. Happy Belated Birthday Snyper! May you be blessed with a long life filled with good health, happiness, and prosperity. Pat God bless everyone
  6. What must that poor chicken think about all these crazy buttinski folks, acting like 'their heads have been cut off and all their brains leaked out', trying to make him go back across that road when it took him so long to safely get across in the first place before anyone was looking!!! Pat God bless everyone
  7. Hello Sir, Nice to have you back here!!! Glad to see you took my post advice to come on over to the sane side of message board country!!! You have many friends here as well as at the other place. Nice to see that there stiill is a 'got your back' support system over there though!!! And you handled that guy very well, and in a calmer manner than mine I think, I tend to get hot-headed sometimes...ask anyone around here. My how things over there can just "come out of nowhere" when you least expect it. sigh!!! Makes me wonder why I go there at all at times. Though I do learn from the good tec
  8. Here are some links I found today to articles with pictures of the ice bergs. Seattle PI newspaper NZ icebergs USA Today newspaper article on NZ ice bergs Perhaps the danger of landing on an iceberg is whether it is solid in that spot (and deeply solid) enough to hold helicopter. Who knows the depth of the berg under a flat space, or if it is like a shelf jutting out from main part. They would also have to be careful to find a flat enough space to land far enough away from any uplifted sections. And another consideration might also be the vibration from the helicopter possibly making the berg
  9. Happy Birthday Bobby!!! May you be blessed with a long life filled with good health, happiness, and prosperity. Pat God bless everyone
  10. Congratulations Jeff on the start of your brand new long career in politics!!! From small beginnings come big things!!! As for the 'goat party', if necessary in order to get things accomplished remember you can butt heads with those who stubbornly want to do nothing to change the status quo. Have fun too. Pat God bless everyone
  11. Even if it's not true it is still a great "senior moment" story!!! Since I am no stranger to CRS times ('can't remember stuff', it's only stuff folks...nothing worse! Ha!), I loved it, and am still grinning as I post this!!! Pat God bless everyone
  12. Happy Birthday Bubba Bob!!! May you be blessed with a long life filled with good health, happiness, and prosperity. Pat God bless everyone
  13. Oh my, all that hard work cleaning for folks that don't deserve it due to their petty insecurity or whatever it is that makes them pick on you. But you will be pleased with your work, and that's a good thing. Just don't let them get to you if they do make up something to pick on you about. I always have thought that "outlaws" like you describe, and believe me I have had had my share of them too, belong in the outhouse, not the grownups house!!! Yes I mean a real up the trail old fashioned outdoor drafty cold outhouse!!! And that's said even after I have mellowed a few years with no contact wit
  14. Maybe you hit on your next invention Mac!!! A tough umbrella that wont collapse or blow inside out in windy rain storms!!! Closest one to perfect that I ever had was a clear bubble type one I got for free for opening a bank account in the 70's. Instead of being spread outward, it curves down in a semi circle around your head and shoulders protecting you from the sideways-driven rain that we get often get here, plus it's clear plastic so you can see through it wherever you are going, and the sharp tips aren't out towards others to jab them. But it doesn't have a very sturdy metal framework, so
  15. Yeah many of my hubby's comments were like TT's (minus the long hair and beard part). And I too thought that that site seemed sort of metro..., but yes some guys and lots of teens do need some basic grooming info and common sense!!! As I watch the kids walking to school, or see them in the stores...it amazes me that so many teen guys, even a few of the teen gals, don't seem to know enough to shower and use soap, and a deodorant, plus brush their teeth, or to wash their clothes. Baggy clothes are an ok style if clean for goodness sake (unless falling off baggy like the teen behind us at the gro
  16. Thanks to Jeff, (Beluga, his screen name from the old days ), for giving us refuges a home to come to after the storms many of us had been through in losing TTV, when so many of us felt like unwanted orphans on it's replacement site that just didn't feel like a home no matter how hard we try/tried. But thanks to Jeff, BestTechie is HOME!!! This is FAMILY and We Care About Each Other Alot!!! We give of our time, our help, our support, our love, and our prayers to each other, and we receive a harvest back of all that and alot more!!! We laugh together, we cry together, we love each other, we a
  17. The only thing I can add after all the good advice given so far is this: If your folks do decide to go ahead and give you one this year, have them get it at a store that has a deal with Microsoft for a free or nearly free Vista upgrade cd to have on hand if you do decide to upgrade it later. That would save you some money down the road. Of course they should be careful of what they get so that it is up to Vista requirements too. I have noticed some of the stores are offering not only the free or nearly free Vista upgrade cd but also listing which of the computers/laptops are Vista ready... an
  18. Well the storms just keep on dumping record amounts of rain on the NW, and now tonight we are to have high winds too. If main part of storm hits North of us, we (inland here in the Northern Willamette Valley) could see wind gusts to 60 mph or so tonight and tomorrow, the coast winds would be even higher!!! Not good for so many Western Washington and Western Oregon areas that have had alot of flooding, slides, etc and the trees already in trouble now in extremely soggy ground are liable to be toppling over all over the area. So power outages etc are likely. Will be getting off line in awhile an

  24. For all the guys on board, maybe this site will help you get a date. a job, or a clue. Oops!!! Sorry about that. Our local paper had a short excerpt of the article from The Washington Post giving it the 'Get a grip' title. Here is the link to the original article in Washington Post. Unrumpling Dudekind: The Guys behind Be Better Guys BeBetterGuys website I haven't checked out their website, so do your own evaluation of whether it is useful or trash. I'm just posting this for fun, seeing as how you guys are always posting jokes and stuff about us gals. Now don't go overboard and try to
