    hi team no word pad isnt any where in win components ive looked under all

    applications in there .

    but cant find wordpad.

    but it is on the sys somewhere as i can bring it up from the start search option

    there are a few things in components i have tuened off so i may nee to turn them back on .

    tho it would show up in accessorys but it isnt there.

    ive highlighted all those applications

    but wordpad isnt one of them.

    any more ideas?

    does any one know how to get word pad into the sys

    i tried start- search

    but it dosent give me the wordpad application.

    strangly enough wordpad on my sys must be corrupted

    because the last time i reinstalled

    it wasent there but i didnt worry about it until now. as i need it for a project

    here in NZ

    we have a city called dunedin

    and back in the early.50 and 60

    it was 94 percent scots

    now of course with the influx of immigrents

    it has halved that total.

    and every 3 years we have a south pacific.

    scots and irish festival

    and the amount of dancing competitions

    goes for 7 days.

    in the modern times they have included all

    ethnic groups .

    and i love it

    my the scotch that is partaken of. would fill a

    water tank.

    i met a man last year who went to the mosiac .

    and when chappy mentioned it in his post.i coudnt remember where ide heard the name

    scots and irish music is very populiar in this country .

    and i remember when i was playing in the band .

    we all had to play a series of scottish and irish melodies.

    as well as other music.

    at one stage i belong to glasgee was our natinal anthem

    un til queen victoria came to the throne

    and to be honest icant remember the words to god save the queen .

    ile have to think it over

    i had a hell of a time

    trying to get the avatar on the board .

    and used Ifranview to resize it .

    as i thought the original was to big .

    so i made it smaller

    and according to your post i could have made i bigger.

    how ever ile leave it be in case i make a botch up.

    im not experienced with this sort of compting

    but im happy ive got this far with it.

    it was sultan who pmed me and said i was due to be able to have one at g4

    because i had so many posts.not sure how many

    any way i put one on g4

    and i thought i would put one here.

    as i feel i belong here .

    tho ive got 1800 posts at g4.

    i like it here.

    i sent in a post about an irish virus and the amount of celtic folk .

    who posted surprised, me as i thought these was

    boards were mainly american.

    even chappy is scotch descendent.

    bloody made me feel at home

    that is my irish comming out.

    australia is very scots and irish

    and have an english language of its own.

    and like new zealand has devoped a

    a scottish,irish , and english .lingo of its own.

    and i love to hear it.

    yo chappy

    i have a grand daughter who dances

    celtic jig .and i think the other is the sword dance

    and im so proud of her.

    she is also poliynesian.

    and dances .

    hula .ect.

    i get my freinds ribbing me about this brown faced

    scortish.lassie danceing these celtic dances .

    but im proud that she can go back .

    to her ancestral roots

    wheather it be

    polyneasian or celtic.

    me to blim

    ive got a bit of every thing in me

    here in NZ we are

    called bitsers

    bits of this and bits that.

    my heratage is native of this country.

    but those old whalers were horny people

    so you can imagine

    the children that came about

    my country was made up of scotch and irish

    so i have scotch irish and maori in me

    my grand mother came from lancishire .

    in the north of england.

    so by rights im a real mongrel.

    but proud of it.

    i think americans are cosmopolitian to arnt they.

    have you been to sound properties and checked all the boxes.

    make sure there isnt any mute boxes checked .

    try this uninstall your sound card driver .

    then reboot your compt

    in your tray it will say

    hardware discovered or words like that.

    then go to sys- hard ware -device manager

    right click your sound card and up date your driver

    if windows has configured your sound card driver it will say

    cant find a better driver.

    i had that happen to me once .

    probably weve all done it .

    i went to the horse races

    with my son

    and i forgot the keys in the ignition

    i set my door to lock on auto.

    well my son walked to a fence

    got a bit of wire bent a hook on it

    and toggled it down the window frame

    the hook must have

    attached to a latch

    and we were in

    god i didnt ask him were he learned that trick.

    as he is a mechanic

    i presume he learned through his work.

    good one i loved that .

    audio. not sure if i acted that way or not

    is your sound in board or sound card.

    go to -start -control panel -sound and audio devices .

    see if there is a check mark in place a volume icon on your taskbar.

    if it isnt checked .

    check it and see if an error notice comes up

    and post the error notice to the thread .

    do as novi says first. look to see if the volume icon is in your tray.

    Gynecologist Appointment=Slightly Adult

    (There is not a woman today that won't crack up over this one!) I was due later in the week for an appointment with the gynecologist.

    Early one morning, I received a call from the doctor's office to tell me that I had been rescheduled for that morning at 9:30 am.

    I had only just packed everyone off to work and school and it was already around 8:45 am. The trip to his office took about 35 minutes, so I didn't have any time to spare.

    As most women do, I like to take a little extra effort over hygiene when making such visits, but this time I wasn't going to be able to make the full effort.

    So, I rushed upstairs, threw off my pajamas, wet the washcloth that was sitting next to the sink, and gave myself a quick wash in "that area" to make sure I was at least presentable. I threw the washcloth in the clothes basket, donned some clothes, hopped in the car and raced to my appointment. I was in the waiting room for only a few minutes when I was called in.

    Knowing the procedure, as I'm sure you do, I hopped up on the table, looked over at the other side of the room and pretended that I was in Paris or some other place a million miles away. I was a little surprised when the doctor said, "My, we have made an extra effort this morning, haven't we?" I didn't respond.

    After the appointment, I heaved a sigh of relief and went home.

    The rest of the day was normal...some shopping, cleaning, cooking, etc. After school when my six year old daughter was playing, she called out from the bathroom, "Mommy, where's my wash cloth?"

    I told her to get another one from the cupboard. She replied, "No, I need the one that was here by the sink, it had all my glitter and sparkles in it."
