  3. I have two dells that are almost identical (dvd burner and HD space are the differences). I recently got a good price on 256MB RAM PC2700 for $25 bucks each, so i bought 2. Each of these computers have 512MB PC2700 right now, so i decided to put an extra 256MB in and bring it up to 768MB. It worked on my computer, but for my sister's computer (the other computer), the monitor wouldn't respond to the computer. It just stayed on Stand-by, as if the computer was off. I don't know why this is happening, they are the same speed, and it worked in mine, so why shouldn't it work in hers? I don't reall
  4. Well, i have a bunch of audio files that are in .ra and .ram file formats (realplayer formats). I want to convert them into mp3 format, and whenever and go into realplayer to convert them, it says that i need to upgrade to the premium version to do that. Since i want to keep it free, i said no, and tried doing it with WMP and winamp, both attempts failing because the players won't recognize realplayers format. I even tried that program on www.besttechie.net, the audio convert, and that didn't recognize it. Any ideas? any suggestions at all would be greatly appreciated.
  5. I have a science project due in january, and the topic is due soon. I am a little stuck trying to pick the topic. I know i want to do something related to physics, but i'll let myself stray to chemistry or electronics. It has to be a project that involves testing some hypothesis, and needs i need to be able to repeat the project. Anyone, any ideas?

  7. it could be the fan (i mean, that specific one). My computer's fan burnt out, and i use dell. I had to spice the cord, and connect it to the old fan. It ran really loudly. I found out later that the fan was defective, not the power connection.

  9. its called a save point, where your program takes a picture of you HD, and checks all files, folders, and saves. then, if you get a virus, mess up the registry, you just go back to previous save point, you're ok.
  10. For the people who want to try out linux, go for knoppix, Click here, and the core of knoppix is around 700MB, so for dial up user, order the disc. It may cost some money, but if you are determined to get it, order it or ask a broadband friend to download it for you.
  11. nothing is wrong with the software or hardware. its optical, so it think that something an inch away is something a foot away. try using a mousepad that is a solid color.
