  8. Yes! Keith is here!!! wow...this is serious starting to feel like G4/TTV boards now
  9. Well, first, as just to test our skills, i suggest we go with a very linear game. Like, there are 10 rooms. You start in room 1, each room having monsters. you kill each monster, you level up. once you reach room 10, you win the game. That way, i'll know where i stand, and you will know where u stand. After that, we can go into the dungeon system, choosing your own path; then, the exp. system will really be effective. About the exp. system, do you want to have a character only have 1 type of hit, or multiple, such as magic? It will be a bit more complicated, but i think for the accuracy, we ca
  10. Yeah...you forgot jumpdrive! Well, thanks for the suggestions, but the reason i'm trying to do it with this paticular thumbdrive is 1) Because i received it FREE from my mom; as i said before, she got it at one of those medical conferences....2) If i lose it, I wouln't be losing an expensive piece of equipment. Actually, i already have a thumbdrive, a 128MB one, i just wanted to put programs i like on this so i can take it to school, and leave my family's precious 128MB one safely at home.... I think i've narrowed it down to a few, which fortunately i can all fit in there with a few megs left
  11. wow...so lucky CA doesn't have that... Beard
  12. hehehe....not knowing your SS number....even i don't know my SS number, though i'm 14.... If anyone of that nature calls, and i right away figure out it is a scam, i'll just use the old telemarketer jokes: TM: "Hello? Hi, I'm here on behalf of XYZ company, I would just like to--" ME: "Oh, I'm sorry. Can I call you back? That way, I can call you during YOUR dinner, interrupt family quality time, and annoy you more after you have had a bad day. Good bye!"
  13. Well, lets get started then! This shouldn't be too hard, especially with help from all the experts and even suggestions from the entire board! just a few things: I don't think that would be correct; a 5,5 array would allocate 25 "boxes." Closer would be to have a 3,3 array or 4,4 array. Well, first is planning, then is programming! First, we need to figure out how the leveling process will take place, how weapons will affect stats, and of course, the world. I suggest we first make it a straight, 10 room dungeon, being very linear. Then, as we figure out how to plan this properly (and learn to
  14. actually, the first distro i was EVER introduced to was debian; my cousin (who was studying for his PhD) told me about it....though, he could say its good and fun (for a beginner), but then again, he WAS doing his PhD.... I heard the there are 3 best beginners distros: Mandrake, Fedora, and Suse. Mandrake by far i've heard of as the number 1 best beginners distro; i've yet to prove this true....Basically, if you got some time on your hands, and want a hard challenge, i suggest you go for debian. If you don't have as much time on your hands, want to learn linux from the beginning rather than gu
  15. try booting in safe mode. This should tell us if its a startup program the is causing this, or is it a corrupt file of windows...
  16. regedit is microsoft (moveover, windows's) registry editor. I'm not sure it saves any registries in it; If you care to look, which i have on my computer currently, win98 boot disk has regedit on it. Why? if your computer is messed up, using regedit you may be able to fix the problem....Just thought to share my insight here, sorry, i have no solution to the problem at hand... Good luck!
  17. Thanks for all these suggestions. I'm going to put as many things as i can (which isn't much; 16MB can only do so much....)

  20. april 25, 1991....yeah, i'm young.... Palm Pilot or Pocket PC (your preference)?
  21. yeah, it is possible. But the reason for the AV (or perhaps instead anti spyware) is because if a computer messes up, i can always help .
  22. yeah, thanks nerelda, i was looking into that....even though it'll take up more than 50% of the capacity, i'll need it if i'm going to use it at school... If only i could fit an antivirus in the remaining capacity...or is that possible? I don't want school computer viruses getting onto my home computer just because of the flashdrive...
  23. Invent this! (for those who don't know, it was a show on TTV)
