I believe if you hold down the c key while pushing down power it will reset the boot after a bad update and will let the mac boot.

if anyone else has this issue, when you plug in the mouse pick to manually find drive adn pick driver from list, go to mouse and HID compliant mouse.. now each time you change usb ports it may have to redo these steps.. http://www.develop4.net/how-to-fixing-your...oblem-in-vista/

wow vista really sucks. every time I change usb ports with any usb mouse it makes me repeat this... so it must be an issue with Vista and new usb ports as this is a new dell 6500 and 64 bit vista, but 32bit windows 7 is doing the same thing..
-
no I solved it, its a known issues with Vista (and windows 7), Vista will try to install a usb mouse as a browser mouse, what ever that is instead of a HID mouse.. you have to manually change the device in the device manager to a HID mouse.. Leave it to MS to screw up mouse detection.. stupid windows.. by the way the Mouse brand is Microsoft..

probably the difference between system vnc password and logged in user password I personly like NX much better. you do not even need X running just installed. see no machine's web site http://www.nomachine.com/

OK I have a mouse, two as a matter of fact. if I plug them in with the keyboard, using the usb on the keyboard that is. no issues.. IF I try to just plug in the mouse it keeps saying it can not find the driver for a web browser mouse.. what kind of POS operating system is this.. is sad but I am stuck with this OS for work.. so if any one knows how to fix it please let me know

these cards are using cell, you can secure all of them even hotspots, by using SSL and others like a VPN. but since the ATT is using a cell technology it is more like a modem and not a network. the network part comes after the carrier and is as unsecured as the rest of the Internet. What is your business use? email should always use a SSL connection to send and receive, if you are not using that for your business then no matter what systems you connect its not secure, so a hot spot is no less secure than almost another connection. the problem with hotspots is that your computer may not be s

Installing Wordpress: Having Problems With The Install Script
iccaros replied to baker7's topic in Linux & Unix
normally it should be apache apache if you are blogging you need to control comments. So for each page you make, ensure you set permissions for comments (you go to the bottom and there is a + next to it to expand.. ) -
Installing Wordpress: Having Problems With The Install Script

then you need to remove the address and use localhost but get back to mysql from a root command line if you type mysql and nothing else does it let you in? if so change your username to root and remove all between the "" for the password by default mysql does not allow network access so root with no password is ok (as long as you locked down file level access in apache, and turned off other communications and moved ssh to another port ) Sorry if we are repeating, but I need to startover to make sure I did not skip anything. also I would give your wordpress DB name a unique name. like mysite -
it looks looks like I had a forward rule somewhere for that address which was wrong

Installing Wordpress: Having Problems With The Install Script
iccaros replied to baker7's topic in Linux & Unix
the server that has mysql is different from the one with wordpress (yes?) if so it could be several issues is iptables blocking the ports (try /etc/init.d/iptables stop ) on both boxes for testing.. see http://www.cyberciti.biz/tips/how-do-i-ena...ase-server.html for more on that sorry it took a while.. I have been out of town. -

its a sticky situation.. I believe The EULA says you can not run Mac OS X on other hardware.. but Fair Use Laws says you bought it and as long as you are not using illegal copies you can do what you want.. so Apple fires back that you do not buy the software but a license to run the software on a Mac. In This case I am pulling for Paystar.. but I believe in freedom. I like Apple, and I understand their point.. they don't want to provide support for other platforms. But its a publisity nightmare as someone will buy a paystar computer and have issues, they will call apple and complain.. Apple

almost all pirated software contains Trojans.. This is not new and any one who uses pirated software deserves to get in trouble This is not a OS security problem, the user installed it.. they only way to stop this is to not allow users to install software.. at all.

Securemac Offers Free Trojan Removal Tool For Macs
iccaros replied to Peaches's topic in Mac, iPhone, iPad, iPod
it sounds like they created it for free publicity.. -
I have no issue really with either. I use Vista a lot, since XP has been invaded with work security impediments. But I do believe that Microsoft should give everyone who bought Vista Windows 7 as a trade. not charge them another $150 to $250 for it.. btw I get them all Free under my Companies MSDN so I don't pay for the upgrades I know in the numbering from the Kernel the numbers work out (Just Like Windows mobile 6.1 when you do a version check says it was WM 5.2.19199) .. the problem is that Windows 7 is not the 7th OS they have released and Charged for.
