  3. Well, it depends and before I answer that question, it would be helpful to know what exactly you were editing and why you were editing it. Personally, I'd try the reg files in the link I gave you before you do anything else. However, if you know exactly what you edited and exactly what the settings/values of whatever you edited were before you edited them then it might be worth a shot to undo your changes and see if that fixes the problem. 4. It shouldn't make anything worse. What those registry files do is reset the default file associations for file types. I have yet to see them make a situation worse by doing some they're not supposed to. They've worked for me and for other people I've helped. So hopefully they'll work for you as well. B
  5. Hi, Before you reinstall Windows - you might want to try the following fixes found here: http://www.dougknox.com/xp/file_assoc.htm Download each one, then run it, it should fix the file association issues for each file type listed there. Make sure you download the zip file fix first and run that. It's a .reg file, so if you can't open zip files at this moment, you should be able to once you run the reg file. After you do the zip file fix, do the rest. B
  6. BTW Brian, I made it so your blog appears on the main blog page. B

  11. Log looks clean... Are you having any issues? If so, I'd recommend posting them in PC Support. B
  12. Alright, I think I'm going to do the move tomorrow (Wednesday the 20th) or if I can't get to it tomorrow then I'll do it Thursday the 21st. The site will probably go down around 10:30 - 11:00 AM East Coast time and will hopefully be back by 11:30AM - 1PM. B
  13. Everything will be moved including the blogs. B
  14. I plan to do this move sometime this week - most likely within the new few days. I'll post back with more details when I have more a definite idea. B
  15. I know we just moved to a new server - however, I was able to negotiate with another host for a better server for a pretty great price. The new server is US based and the companies offices are actually on Long Island so I can always drive over there and bop them on the head if need be. Server Specs (of new server) >>P4 2.4GHz >>1GB RAM >>120GB HD >>1000GB Transfer TIER1 Bandwidth >>11 IPs inlcuded >>24x7x365 Live Person Support >>Fully Managed Server >>100mbps connection Anyway, I will probably move BT sometime in the near future. The move shoul

  20. I'd have to agree with shane, it should just use standard IDE controllers, but who knows might want to try the software CD as well or look online for it. B
  21. Can you get into the BIOS? What says it's disabled? Also go into the BIOS - does it see the hard drive at all? B

  23. Slave will work. Some people like using cable select, some don't - I guess it's a preference thing. I personally never saw much difference. I currently have 4 320GB SATA2 drives in my PC and as you probably know with SATA you don't have to set jumper settings. B
