Good morning everyone, I'm still very tired as I was up very late last nite with all this junk, but here is the entire story as it happened and with proof of concept.

MissFae at G4 said I did not have the Full Story, or how she put it was the "facts", well to start off, here is the ENTIRE post we recieved in the private Maintenance board at G4 about the new changes.

We've been working for a few months towards some pretty big changes in how we do things within our department.

Those changes are finally happening.

The Message Boards and how they are run will be changing along with us.

THE CHANGES:

1. New Admins, new roles

Steve will be taking on a bigger content role, and his fellow producers will be stepping in to take bigger message board roles.

Starting this week, there are three more admins who will be handling certain message boards.

Here's how it looks to us:

Chickytown = boss of 'em, will interfere when necessary

The_D = Cheat, Judgment Day, Electric Playground, G4 Sports, half of the new Whip Set Forum.

Kanoe = Barbed Wire Biscuit, Cinematech, Icons, Formula D

loudlivinlady = X-Play, Filter

frankmeyer = G4tv.com the show, half the whip set forum

coury = Attack of the Show

Other boards we're all going to share the admin junk on.

2. Even more relaxing of rules

Now of course, you don't have to encourage any of this, but you now don't have to punish for any of it, either.

Cussing is okay. We will keep offensive, degrading terms in filter. Will take out “shitâ€, etc. If it passes the filter, it's okay. We're basically taking out of the filter your garden-variety cusswords.

Relax image rules. As long as it’s not nudity/porn, it’s okay. No nipples, no genitalia. Bare booty=ok. Ogling threads = ok

Links to porn/adult crap ok as long as identified as such

Make mods abandon their weird, made-up rules ***Each admin will bring these up as needed

The ever-popular calm the hell down about spam, etc.

3. Senior Mods

To go along with our new multi-admin structure, we are asking most mods to also specialize on a handful of boards, rather than take a global approach. We think that this will lighten the loads for many of you, and allow you to concentrate on boards you like and on the boards that need the most help (like off-topic and less popular shows).

To this end, the Senior Mod designation will mean that the mod has global mod privs. The senior mods are:

Acrifolium

Kimnrowdy

MissFae

UltraWarrior

Baxter

sbkMulletMan

Tedakin

In addition, mods who have been inactive for a while will be demodded, at least until they show up again.

4. Message Board additions/subtractions

Tomorrow we will be deleting, consolidating and adding boards. In the coming weeks, we may be adding more boards as our programming changes. As you might notice, we're focusing on programming-related boards and letting many other boards go.

This is how the message boards will look tomorrow:

Signature Art/Forum Talent (rolled into OT as a sticky)

Cable/Satellite Related blah blah (dead)

New Boards:

G4/Tech TV Classics--will include anything that's either in permareruns or that is gone but not forgotten (Arena, Players, Portal, Fresh Gear, Tech Live, Robot Wars, Unscrewed, etc., etc., you get the idea)

The Whip Set (Fastlane plus Street Fury plus cars)

Barbed Wire Biscuit (Anime Unleashed, Cinematech NE, Happy Tree Friends and Friends and Brainiac etc. as scheduled)

I know that's a lot. I think you'll find that all of this will make your lives sooooo much easier.

We're trying to pull together a meeting with the new admins, a get-together of sorts, probably for Friday morning, prolly around 11 am pacific. But I wanted to let you all in on this now, as soon as we finalized everything.

As I said before, these changes will be happening effective tomorrow, probably in the afternoon. Tho as you can see I already messed with the language filter.

Note how it says effective probably in the afternoon....I missed that part in my first read, so I;m sorry for so many people staying up late to be "The Last Man Standing"

Now, I felt that this was a terrible injustice to the members who have put in so many long hours over the year, to make that board so succesful. It is the third largest board at G4 in only a year, and was the Fastest growing board at G4 period

Anyway, to just up and close it without any prior notice to the members was totally out of line, so I brought it to the attention of the membership in my first post "Tech Support Forum is Gone Tomorrow".

I felt that some members should at least know about it before they tried to login to the Tech board and found it "Closed for Business".

As you can see, the membership also felt betrayed by this..

Well, Missfae posts something about me not knowing all the facts, and this started folks thinking that I made this up to get members over here to Besttechie's.

I'm surprised that some of you who have known me for so long could think I would do something as low as that....of course I had proof of what I was saying and I posted a snippet from the above post to the board.

I posted the area that outlined the board closures and merges.

That lasted about 15 minutes and Missfae pulled it, meanwhile another thread was started where she posted about me not knowing what I was talking about, and then she locked it. I UNLOCKED it and replied to it with the proof again, which got that thread trashed and me banned.....

Now, word is that I BANNED myself, this is untrue. What I did was this.

In our Maintenance thread, we have to post a thread on anyone we ban from G4, well Missfae neglected to write that she had banned me, so 3 hours later (I gave her some time) I unbanned myself, wrote the post for her just as it should be, and rebanned myself, cause I knew that this was gonna get me banned permanently anyway.

They had not yet taken away my Mod powers, so this was rather easy to do, and a fitting end I believe. I had tried to get Missfae to respond to me thru PM's, nicely of course....you all know me, but she refused to respond...being a newly appointed Senior Mod and all, I guess she felt she didn't have to defend her actions.

IMPORTANT

Supposedly, the "Facts" I did not know about, is the fact that because of the uproar I caused about the Tech board closure, it is being RECONSIDERED!!!

I guess my suicide at G4 may be worth something in the end, and its all because of the storm I caused over this!!!

Well, there you have it so far, I have no idea where this is going from here as I cannot get into Maintenance anymore, my Mod powers have been removed for good. I don't know if I'm still banned at this point but my guess is that I am, but I don't really care anymore.

I LOVE this forum, and all you people, this is my HOME and you are my FAMILY!!!!

i know how you feel chappy. similar stuff happened to me before the Leoville meltdown. before i knew it a hand full of people and i got blamed for the whole thing when i didn't even have anything to do with it. this should be titled When Moderators Attach!! i hate it when there's all this back alley politics and Mods freak out and start deleting and locking like there's no tomorrow.

Thanks Dave. I know I hadn't been to JeePhor in a long long time; I was wondering what all happened to cause the end of TechSupport there.

Even if the forum does stay, I would like to invite all you refugees to stay here a bt, and play an active part in the forums. You may like it much more (I would hope you will) and make this your permanent home.

Being one that didn't use G4 at all...that sounds like a bunch of "I have the power and you will listen" kinda of shizzle. I am glad you are making your home here Chappy...you add carisma and resolution to this board. Also again to follow the present board members, Welcome all takers who Join BEST TECHIE...we are better then G4 because as it states...we are the BEST...

Chappy, I went over there to see what was going on and I never doubted your actions for a minute. You're just not the kind of person who would do the things you were "accused" of and everyone knows that--when I read about you recruiting folks for BT's I laughed--if anything you would have been recuiting folks for your OWN site!!!

Swearing, Adult links, Porn????? What are they thinking??? I might pop over there to read the goodbyes, as I feel I know these folks, but after that, no more lurking G4 for me! As it was, Tech Support was the only place I did venture after the merge.

Wow, very well put chappy I think we're all glad that you did what you did to let us know that tech support would be closing, and now even if it doesn't clos it just won't be the same because by now so many members have probably already made up their minds to not post at g4 anymore, and I may be among them.

Sure glad you're here Chappy. I remember you were paramount in helping Jeff start this forum.

G4 has turned into an adult/almost porn forum aimed at kids. Parents out there should be doing something about it. Just what is up with todays parents? And what is up with G4? I hope someone or a thousand lets the powers that be know what crap is going on at this garbage, crap hole of a site.

How stupid to relax spam and porn links and then close the only help board there. But then again, all *those* kids know how to reformat, don't they?

I dont think anyon honestly ever thought you where behind any of this. Other mods (IMO) intentionally tried to breed distrust to keep this situation under wraps.

We who are from the old TTV boards know you and all the other mods. All of you are great with helping those of us who are still learning. I have never posted a question that was not answered with respect.

Now G4 is allowing profanity, porn links(as long as you say that is a porn link), and "kiddies" to be mods. The "uncouth" and "immature" are now in charge over there.

If some one cannot make a post without using swear words of any kind needs a course in manners and a good dictionary. I choose not to wallow in filth.

Class will tell and Chappy you and Pete and all the others have "class" as far as I am concerned.

I have to agree with this. Thats why I left long ago (g4 that is). I only stopped in once in a blue moon, if even that. But now I'm glad the "lost boys" from the oldl TTV can now find a real place to call home. A place where they are welcome.

Chappy, it is G4's loss and our gain. You know you have the utmost respect from BT members here. We don't care what G4 says. I'll take your word against theirs any day.

I can't beleive they are going to allow porn and swearing. There are a lot of young adults and children visiting these forums. We do not need that X-Rated junk.

BT is a place to learn, help others if you can, and just plain have fun chit chatting with each other. We are family here.

I'm glad you came here.

prophet7 was over there spouting off on how it's all a clerical error and Tech Support was never going to be removed just renamed or merged with maybe AotS. He quoted some bull and when I asked who the quote is attributed to the thread got deleted. It seems strange he's the only one with this knowledge.

Thanx to you all for your confidence in me, I appreciate it more than you'll ever know.

Those of you who have known me from way back in the early TTV days, know that I'm not one to jump to conclusions, or fly off the handle. I'm a measured, steady person who rarely, if ever, (never really) loses it in these threads. I moderate fairly and would rather talk a member into changing their ways calmly thru PM, rather than "ban first - ask questions later" style of modding that G4 practices.

I only banned 1 person at G4 in my entire year + there, the rest I was able to talk into doing things the way G4 wanted them done, without resorting to threats.

All of you Besttechie members - I was ALWAYS here first, this is my home and you never lost me to G4, this will always be my home!!

What a difference a day makes.Now that Tech support is re-named CFH I've never seen so much about-faces in my life. People who were ranting and cussing the mods 3 hours ago are now defending them. "they didn't really lie,they just weren't given the facts" Thats a load of horse shit if ever I've heard it. Miss Fae went out of her way to make you look like a fool and in the broadest sense of the term,surpressing the truth is the same as lying.

Chappy,I'm standing up for you over there until the almighty Fae bans me too.

I've never kissed Ass in my life and I'm not about to start now. You did what you had to do and kept your pride and honor.
