  1. I didn't know Sennheiser MADE headphones in that price range. Good buy.
  2. Eww! Boy, that's just askin' for an accident.
  3. IMO, ME is like Vista: Both got lackluster aftermarket support and wound up with a bad reputation as a result. There were no serious flaws, just the usual changes required to work with an OS update. I don't know if people just weren't ready, or weren't willing to do the work that's usually necessary for a new OS (better hardware, newer drivers, different GUI, etc.). I had a roommate that used ME without incident.
  4. We've had gorgeous weather too, and enough of a breeze to keep the air movin', so no alerts here. I wonder though, it's been comparitively dry so the grass is already lookin' dry too (I never water the lawn). A sign of things to come?
  5. Hey, I was young and SHE asked ME out. What did you THINK was going to happen? BTW, it didn't go well.

Still waiting for the "INCREDIBLE" part ...
  7. Where'd you get a picture of the first girl I ever dated?
  8. That's why I didn't "get" it when I thought it was a single monitor: I thought "Maximized" meant it was as large as it could get, with both a pre-determined size AND location, based on your resolution. I would think it SHOULD snap back (if you could move it at all) to that pre-determined size and location, at least on a single monitor.
  9. Is there any other type? I laughed, but it was an uncomfortable laugh. Now that I look at the picture again, are we SURE it's not just Kermit lying in the gutter after a really hard night of partying? You know how frogs like to party!
  10. You might want to edit your post title to include the fact that the problem concerns dual monitors so it has a better chance of catching the eyes of someone who knows something about that kind of setup. As it is I thought you were trying to move a maximized window around on one monitor, it didn't make sense. So can we assume non-maximized windows CAN still be moved between monitors?
  11. Wow, forty to a hundred-and-sixty bucks ... for a soundtrack? And here I get upset when I have to fork over ten bucks for a CD. A-B shelf, "Best Of" disks (all seem kinda old, but I guess "new" artists wouldn't have "Best Of" compilations anyway): Ace of Base Asia The B-52's Black Sabbath Blondie
  12. No-o-o-o-oo! Actually, that looks like an all-too-typical celebrity drug-related death.
  13. Regarding "Who Called Us?" That's EXACTLY why I don't have Caller ID, isn't that what Caller ID is SUPPOSED to tell you?!? Screw the phone company, after all, they're screwing you (if you pay for CID). Regarding police and fire department charities. I've seen (a while ago) reports that those charites are legit, SORT OF. The amount of money they actually contribute to their causes is miniscule. Those charities contribute single digit percentages of the money they take in to their causes, while the vast majority of the money they take in goes straight into the pockets of the employees of the c
  14. Off the "Various Artists" shelf, sub-category of "Movie soundtracks and songs 'inspired by the movie'" (I am either freakishly organized, or I have FAR too much time on my hands): Dead Man Walking (Never got around to seeing the movie, but GREAT artists, Springsteen, Cash, Suzanne Vega, Lyle Lovett, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan with Eddie Vedder, etc.) The Matrix (Some pretty harsh music here) Permanent Midnight (again, didn't catch the flick, but great music) Spawn (SAW THIS ONE in the theater when it was released, it was GREAT) Tomb Raider (Tons of my favorite artists)
  15. They've been tested dozens of times and come up short for various reasons (having to force kids to use them, maintenance issues that wind up making them less safe, without a shoulder belt they may actually CAUSE injuries while ADDING a shoulder belt increases some problems, getting kids out after an incident, etc.). Instead, they pad the seat-backs far more deeply than would be practical in cars.
  16. Oh yeah, the Police Benevolent Fund calls. They have the added annoyance of making you feel guilty because, of COURSE we all support the police, and there's the nagging question of, will NOT supporting them lead to something bad, like being ticketed or something? I read yesterday that the warranty call center may have made a BILLION calls! What is that? Like THREE CALLS to EVERY SINGLE PERSON ALIVE in the United States? Hang 'em!
  17. I just realized something. I have gotten both of those calls maybe a hundred times each over the years (that might be an exaggeration). So ... if the computers ARE generating "random" phone numbers, does that mean EVERY SINGLE NUMBER in existence has been called that many times too? (Averaged out)
  18. Wednesday night's storms knocked out the power momentarily. Been rainin' off and on almost daily. Farmers are in an uproar. The small town in MO where my family's from got hit by a tornado. Due to all this rain I've already mowed the lawn six or seven times. Is it Summer yet?
  19. Off the M-S shelves: The Moody Blues (forty years old, and I STILL enjoy it) Pink Floyd (my favorite PF album, but pink-o-philes' least-liked, The Division Bell ) The Rolling Stones (best of -- covering the 70's and 80's) Styx (the REALLY early recordings, like from when they were still playing high school auditoriums) Suzanne Vega (the one with her one huge hit, 99.9 degrees -- What? You don't remember it?)
  20. Old Indian spend much time alone.
  21. A computerized calling center could easily block numbers on the Do Not Call List. These companies are intentionally ignoring the law and must be severely punished for their blatant disregard of the law. I got both kinds of calls, the auto warranty (for the 12 year old truck I bought used? -- that just SCREAMS scam) and the credit card rate call (they never mention what BRAND of card they're calling for, wouldn't they know? Nor do I understand why, if it were legit, "my" credit card company can't lower my rate without having to call me first -- that just SCREAMS scam). Many moons ago I stoppe
  22. Thank God. That could have gone VERY differently.
