Panda Internet Security found 18 threats and I cleaned up 12 of them......some of these were caused by antispyware tools such as smitfaudfix - I now have all current Windows Updates, and can now selectively install needed programs Brian

Well, I have NOT yet had the tires and tubes replaced, but they are on order - when they do come in, the tech will replace them here at my reseidence, which will mean that I don't have to have the chair go back to Burlington, which is 1 hour away Brian

Well, here's an update on my progress: I started this at about 7PM EDT Yesterday Evening, and figured I'd have like 14 gigs - I was close.......I backed up what I wanted, and went to bed by 9:30 - I was wiped after driving around all day *ZZZZZZZ* At 3:30AM this morning, I was able to grab a couple more files off my machine, and complete the backup operation. At 6:25AM EDT, I was running the Win XP Pro Setup Wizard, and by 2PM EDT, had Windows XP Pro Installed enough to download my Panda AV to protect my system while online catching up on forum posts. Here is a surprise: Panda Must Have upgr

Hello everyone: My Quickie Chair Frame has been fixed, although the tech said that he was also going to replace the tires on the chair, at my request, because they are flat and bald - you normally replace tires 1-2 times a year, depending on use, so this should be no problem. Just letting everyone know whats up Brian

Thats right Folks, my flagship machine will get a much needed upgrade to Windows XP Professional sometime tomorrow if all goes right. I decided to make this change to allow me to communicate with machines that run Professional versions of windows - D&K runs Windows 2K3 SBS, and my older machine runs 2KPRO, so this was a no brainer. This way, all machines on my network will have professional flavors of the OS, which will allow me to more easily connect to them - I can't run Vista, and really don't want to at this point, so I would rather run an OS I trust - and now I will have it. Wish m

Novi: May I offer my condolences - Friends like this, human or not, are hard to find, and even harder to have to lose Animals have a keen sense of awareness, and they know thier owners habits and quirks, and can be almost human. When you lose a friend like this, it is a hard thing, and I have lost pets before - thier memories live on, however, it will hurt for awhile because your cat was a friend and a family member - If there is anything I can do, please don't hesitate to call on me Brian

I don't own a credit card at all, however, I did get a bank VISA DEBIT card to use to buy things. I like it because it is attached to my bank account, and it won't let me overspend. I hate credit cards because they do this garbage to all the young guys who's credit is great, and they give you a 0% interest rate for like 6 months, and then JACK it UP to 20-30%. For those who can afford to have a credit card I say thats great, but with the darn rates they charge, I say that its really nuts. Basically agree with TT, that if I can't afford to get it with cash or with what I have available in

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BT!!! Man - 3 years go by fast, and I just recently celebrated my 2 year anniversary on BT on the 16th. I remember coming here soon after the announcement of mass changes on G4 - I wanted a place where I could be with friends and have a place that has a "family feel" I found it here, with people who care about each other, and not so much on bashing peoples opinions. Jeff - You are amazing, and I salute you - May you many, many, many, many happy years here - You have the best team in cyberspace, and I am proud to fly my avy here, and state proudly that I am a member of BESTT

Today, My Tech arrived, and checked the damage. He knows that the frame is broken, and took the serial number. This will allow his parts team to order the proper frame to replace the broken frame. He pumped the Rascal's front tire, and said that when the frame comes in, he will be back to take the chair in order to replace the item and perform routine maintanence. Next time I send the rascal to Burlington, I will have the front tire changed, as it is bald All Set There Talked to the lady that says that she has the charger I need. she will get it to me ASAP

hehehehehe Wheelies?? I wish - this chair has had BOTH sides of the frame break - the only real place I have to do a wheelie is when I go up the ramp that is in the hall near my door in the hallway. Other then that, Quickie and other lightweight chairs have "Anti tip tubes." These tubes allow the chair to tip back only so far, and the reason I have them on is because if I didn't have them down and locked, I could easily FLIP the chair over backwards! That is why every Quickie Chair I own has this safety device Brian

Hello Everyone: I want to thank you all for your opinions on this matter! I really do like doing this, and because of SSI, I charge nominal amounts because I know what it is like to have something need to be looked at, and all that. I charge those who ask and in some cases they TELL me to charge them more - In those cases when they ask me how much they should pay me for my services, I say "How much do you think my services are worth to YOU?" If I ask this question, I rarely get thought of as greedy - I have been paid as much as $100.00 to do things like do windows updates before. This way

I believe that now, I will institute a $25.00 MINIMUM CHARGE when helping her - this is because she apparently contacted my friend that lives in her building and was complaining and moaning about how I had the nerve to charge her the $25.00, which she said she couldn't afford. Well, He gave her both barrels, telling her that my decision stands, and that he (does service calls too) would NOT talk me into changing my mind, and would NOT remove the DSL. He does NOT intrude on my service calls, and I don't intrude on HIS - If our company were to do this as a business call, then the charge would
-
Dan: That is EXACTLY what I do. If I charge, I have to do it under the table I decided to charge in this case because it does not matter the amount of the charge, but what matters is that my time is valuable to me and probably to others who appreciate what my services are worth. I do this work because I can use my skills to help those who are in need, and this lady knows that I am good, and I know how to do what she wants done - so I figure that my expertse is worth what I charge, althoigh I DARN WELL KNOW that most people would laugh at my $25.00 charge. The reason for this charge is to

Ok Guys and Gals, Thought it was time for another Update: TRAINING: My Malware Removal Training is progressing well. I have now been promoted to GeekU Junior, and have just today completed Practice Log #1. One thing that I will tell you is that you must READ everything multiple times and sometimes the simplist things may elude you if you do NOT do this. There is also alot of information available, and I have been reading alot of it - It is a challenge, but I CAN do it, and the day I am graduated, you will know that I earned it - It will make me proud to say that I earned the title "Malware
