  2. Yeah, he is the type of guy to give me free comp stuff. He had it because it wouldnt boot up so he just formated it. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Open the case up and take a look, thats the easiest way to know if you have 1 or 2 physical drives.
  3. I would agree with that No way is a 5 mega pix camera the same as a 3. If you are happy with viewing them on your pc or not printingp picture bigger then 3x4 then a 2 mega pix would be fine but I doubt thats what you want. The Cannon sureshots are good, as is the ikon coolpix.
  4. If it doesn't display anything, even when disconnected, its just plain old shot...probably.
  5. More than likely, you probably have the wrong smtp address listed in Outlook. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> you mean POP server don't you? (incoming)

  15. I think pete has the best solution. Find a NAS, HP makes some good ones that you can easily hot swap scsi drives in and out of (remember, that after the inital backup, you're not writing 90new gis of info everyday, just whats changed, so a set of 250G scsi will last you a while.
  16. I still agree with pete, although your system may meet the bare minimum requirements here are the reccomended reqs. Recommended system requirements: - 512 MB of RAM - 2.0 Ghz CPU - 128 MB 3D video card Does your system meet or exceed those? i kow your cpu doesn't, what about the rest?
  17. and make sure you don't have clienbt for ms networks installed, thats what usually prompts you for the user name and password
  18. When you narrow it down to 2 or 3 chips based on price etc...the real deciding factor should be the on board cache. The bigger the better. 200mhz here or there is n't going to make a difference, not at those speeds (its like saying you can really tell the difference between 190mph and 200 mph, regardless, its just damn fast)
  19. If all she needs is word, email and internet, theDell 2400 they are selling for 299 is really your best choice. Yes its over budget but if you can help her scarpe up another 100, its well worth it and it will last her forever.
  20. another easy way to move t all is to simply Ghost an image of the old partition onto a larger one, and then convert it to NTFS.

  23. How about sound card, NIC? Just because you cleaned it doesn't mean the cpu isn't overheating, you may well be pushing it to hard.
