I am having troubles reading directions. I have read the help page included with elemnets-2.0, and other peoples tutorials, but I can't seem to use the "replace color" tool. I want to change the following image to a a specific yellow. If you guys could guide me I would be appreciated. Here is the black image I need to change yellow. The original is on a tranparent backgraound(if that matters)

I just commited to a half page phonebook ad for my business. The people at yellowbook are making me a proof, but I think i am also going to try and do one using photoshop elements-2.0. The new phone book will be published about january 1, 2007. I am really excited, not so much about the $440/month charge, but the business it will bring. I am guarenteed to make back at least the cost of the ad(so long as it generates about 7 jobs/month), hopefully I will make above and beyond.

I changed the header.png to a jpeg file now it is working fine. The creater(Dragon) for the websigte originally use a png file without problems. I am not sure why I was having a problem. As far as I can tell the jpeg seems like an ok solution.

my header.png has a color of #00CCFF, my background also has a color of #00CCFF. but when I use IE to render it, the color of the header.png is changed to #00C6FF here is a visual look

Internet, Freezing, Drivers, Looking At Other Partitions?
shanenin replied to Naming is hard's topic in Linux & Unix
what have you tried to do to mount them? what does this command show. It will tell you where your partition is. More then likely it is /dev/hda1 sudo fdisk -l /dev/hda | grep -i ntfs -
when viewing my website I am getting different results with IE or Firefox. With IE my top logo is a slightly darker shade of blue. Why am iI getting this differnce? http://brighteyedcomputer.com edit added later// maybe the logo is the same, but the backgraound is different with ie.

Thanks for the link :-) I just finished my very first photoshop manipulation. I have to say it felt pretty good to modify it myself. I created a yellow circle using the elipse tool, then put the image of the computer on top with the move tool

you gave me some links before which I failed to save Were those tutorials for photoshop elements? I really need to learn the very basics of stuff, inparticular layers(having trouble following your technique). If you could give me those again I would greatly appreciate it.

that is exactly what I am trying to do. What techniche did you use to keep the color in the circle? edit added later// I think I figured out a way to do it.

First off, I want to thank rhema7 for desighning my logo. I was unable to get my uploaded png version(transparent background) to work, so I uploaded this jpg version. I like the all black version for some stuff, but wanted to experiment with a colored verison for some other applications, in particular my website. I want to add yellow to fill in the circle(sun). Since the rays are not fully enclosing the circle, the color spreads everywhere. I thought about manually drawing a line in each gap, but it looked messy and did not seem practical. one possible solution I had was to make draw a circle

if you are not using any ram intensive stuff, which is not using all 512mbs, it would probably slow things down using the slower memory. If you are running ram intensive programs that would use more then 512mbs, then you would probably gain on having more ram, even if it is running slower. My thought is slower running ram is much faster then swapping to a harddrive.
-
What processor does your computer have? It may not even need ram faster then 2100. If that is the case you would definately get better results from the higher amount of ram.

Thanks guys. It did not take too long, maybe a half hour or so. Once the bottom layer was finished it was just as fast as stacking more pennies.

here is my creation

Some days I have all kinds of ideas and motivation. Today(past several days) I woke up and have felt a little unmotivated, bored. I just found my self a little project. It seemed to spark me :-) http://www.wikihow.com/Coin-Stack-a-Penny-Bridge

Laptop Not Connecting To Internet--netgear Router
shanenin replied to murtu52's topic in Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista, and XP
is he getting any error messages? does he show a connection using ipconfig -
that 'time' command is cool. I am not sure why those backticks were failing. Now they are working fine(like they should).
-
just curious, what did you do to time it. Did you used something like this? #!/bin/bash TIME1=`date +%N` find /etc | grep -i xorg TIME2=`date +%N` echo $(expr $TIME2 - $TIME1) by the way. why can't I use variables with backticks. The following will not work echo `expr $TIME2 - $TIME1`
-
what does the output of this command show; type it into a terminal find /etc | grep -i xorg I am not sure, but don't always think an xorg.conf file is required. I think xorg may be able to start x without one. If the above command does not show one listed, you will have to create one.
-
I was curious about that thanks :-)

I like that :-) I wish I could always live that way. I know that in theory, but in practice, its hard(living in the day).

I was reading the this link sethook posted. it reffered to this key. I am not sure what one is the correct key. They seem to have conflicting info HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\setup it also said to use this value C:\ not C:\i386 @marty: If you have xp is installed on D: then you will just use D:\

I would try and find a cheap card on ebay to use. If that does not solve your problem, you are only out a few dollars.
