men murdering women is horrible. I have no statistics, but I bet the majority of murders in the world are men who kill thier spouse/girlfreind

Thanks for the input. That is what i thought, but wasn't sure. Like you said, it is probably just more tradition.

I think the command netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt will also fix winsock2 problems, but at the expense of possibly breaking some programs. On impulse i ran the command on my XP machine last evening. I wonder if that has affected avg. Maybe it will start complaining.

If the laws are the same as they used to be, murder does not carry a minnimum mandatory sentence, but possesion of drugs does. What a travesty :-( Being a drug addict(clean today), i know almost all sell drugs only to support their habit, if they make money that is secondary to staying high. I have had 112 grams of meth on my possesion before, I am sure that was enough to put me away for 5 years. In my mind that is no different then putting an alcoholic in prison for 5 years because they CAN'T stop drinking. edit added later// Government made a situation when they caused a market to be made w

I have used LSPfix in the past to fix a corrupted network stack. Will running the command netsh int ip reset filte.txt fix things also? Is their any good reason not to just use the netshell utility to rebuild the stack to a pristine state? Will rebuilding the network stack break many programs? edit added later// I think if possible it may be better to use LSPfix. If LSPfix will solve the problem, it will do so without breaking as many programs. none-the -less netshell utility sounds pretty handy.

as far as I can tell the user needs to first install logmein before running the script. If that is the case, it would just be easy to have them set up their own account and then give you the login information. With that being said, I think I may be wrong. Isn't the scrip-t supposed to do everything, including installing logmein? I am as lost as you :-)

I was talking to my brother-in-law this Christmas. He got a job doing graphic design. They use imacs for all of this work. He told me they just use adobe programs that run on either windows or apple computers. He seems to think apple computers do a superior job when it comes to graphic design. Does an apple computer running an adobe program do it any different then a windows computer running the same program? Is their any advantage to using apple when it comes to graphic design? edit added later// As far as I see it they would be identical. Photoshop and Illustator would be the same whether ru

What kind of computers and how much ram do the computers currently have?

Help me sort this out. Is the user supposed to install logmein ahead of time, before running the script. Is the script just supposed to log them in automatically?

It looks pretty cool. It apears to run linux.

Rain is definitely great for sleeping. Many more cold months of snow, yuck. **ahh spring/summer**

A good reload can make a huge difference. What kind of memory do you need? What OS and how much memory are these current computers running?

I have been trying to figure out how that script works, with out much luck. Do you have a link to the place where you found it?

rename the file something.au3, then click on it. edit added later// When I run the script, it complains about not being able to find logmein.exe program. Does the user need to download the program ahead of time? edit added later// This program is pretty neat. Once you get a script to work, you just need to r-click and choose compile. It then makes a exe that will run on a different computer.

You mentioned having a dell. Do you still have the driver disc available to you? You will want(need) your drivers before you start. At least you need your nic(ethernet) driver. Depending on the model of your dell, without that, you may not have any way of getting online. If you go to this site, and enter your service tag(it is located on the outside of your machine), you will get a list of all of your available drivers. The real important ones are these: chipset, networkcard(nic) and video adapter. If you are unsure on which drivers you need, multiple ones are listed, just ask, somebody here

If you can reload windows 98, you will have no problem doing a clean install(includes formatting) of XP. I can guarantee that will solve all of your problems.

I personally like the simple layout of "pc support". As of now the board is not to busy. We get a few posts a day that are pc related, it is nice to have them together. If the board got alot busier, I could see the advantage of breaking the pc support into separate sections.

Do any of you guys use logmein on a professional(or personal) basis to service other peoples machines? What do you think about it?

Thats pretty cool. I just did my first test envelope.

from the online docs docs. This may be helpful Have you installed autoit v3?

My hunch is you have been doing a repair install. If a repair install has not helped your problem, you need to do a clean install. Doing a clean install is a little more involved. It will require you to reinstall all of your programs and drivers. The drivers may or may not be difficult for you to do(they sometimes can be tricky, and I even do it for a living). Doing a clean install will delete all of your data, you will need to backup your files to another place other then your hardrive before your can proceed. http://www.pcuser.com.au/pcuser/hs2.nsf/we...A256EA80038C9A7

since it is failing when running Windows from cdrom, this to me means it is a hardware problem. I don't think it is anything to do with device drivers.

Add to the list above, check your memory. Memtest86 is a good program for this.

Could it be a dns issue? Just curious, what happens if you ping google using the ip ping 64.233.167.99
