I am not certain you can both connect to a domain and use a workgroup connection simultaneously on the same computer. I am basing this assumption on the fact under settings, you have a choice to either join a domain, or join a workgroup. As soon as you join a domain the workgroup name gets grayed out. Goto system properties, then the computer tab, then click on the "change" button, then choose "member of workgroup" instead of "member of domain". You will need to reboot. Now you can check to see if you are able to network your two computers using a workgroup. Make sure the other computer uses

Office Xp Pro: Does The Files And Settings Wizard......
shanenin replied to baker7's topic in Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista, and XP
Let me know how it works for you. I have been interested in using that feature for backing up client info, mainly OE mail and contacts. Until now, I have been doing it manually. My hunch(just a guess) is it will do everything but passwords. -
I personally think it will activate automatically(without a call), since you are just changing the harddrive. edit added later// you mentioned switching the motherboard. that still being the only piece of equipment changed, still may allow easy activation.

Office Xp Pro: Does The Files And Settings Wizard......
shanenin replied to baker7's topic in Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista, and XP
This seems like more of a support question, so I moved the topic to "pc support", I was assuming this was where you wanted it. -
I recently upgraded my computer to an athlon 64 x2 4200. My friend is trying to get me to buy his geforce 7600gs video card. I really have no need for the extra juice(maybe for a vista upgrade, shameful slam). I am not a gamer, but would like to try one. If i decided to get his card, what would be a fun game to go along with it. I am pretty broke, so can't afford to spend a lot. I kind of like fps games. I guess I don't want to have to memorize to many different key combinations. I would like a fun game without a big learning curve. Any suggestions would be appreciated. edit added later// Als

I would like to get my daughter a 2gb ipod nano for her birthday, but that is a little high for what we spend for birthdays. I was thinking we could get her a 512mb ipod shuffle. If her itunes library is more then 512mbs, does the itunes software allow her to easily sync chosen music from her whole library, or does she have to create separate libraries that are below 512mbs?

How much longer will OEM copys of XP be available(assuming people don't want to use vista for a while).

I used rc2 for a while, it was alright, but I missed XP. XP just seems so much cleaner and leaner. I suppose once vista is around for a while, I may make the jump. That may be a year off.

Do you have a 4200 or 4600? You signature is giving conflicting info. I have a 4200 myself and love it. In all honesty, I don't really ever use its full power. I can only get the proc to max out if I have two instances of my mpeg4 encoder going at the same time. It is nice to know I have the power anyways. Enjoy your new computer :-)

That is why I am afraid to by anything expensive, I will end up dropping it. I am surprised they gave you a new one after it got scratched.

Thanks :-)

Sounds cool, but why not just use the built in sync feature that syncs to time.windows.com ?

Will Ferrel was petty good in Elf.

I just watched Talladega Nights, I expected it to kind of suck. For a slapstick comedy, it was pretty good.

Turns out the charging system was fine. I tried another battery and it was working the way it is supposed to. As to your questions. The part appeared black with with two contacts. It made a connection by two solder joints on top of the board. It does not have leads that go into the board. It did not seem broken(I could see both contacts, although one was nearly invisible), but it is so small it seemed next to impossible to reattach it, also, it was not not obvious on which side connected to which side.
