  1. Still $2.80 here. Does anyone even think about the hidden costs of expensive fuel? Like consumer products, f00d! Most of the US products are transported in trucks. The cost of distributing a product is wrapped into the wholesale/retail prices. Yes folks, we are not only hurting at the fuel pump in our cars and trucks. But in the grocery stores.... Trucking companies under contract has a "surcharge" built in if fuel costs go over a certain price. That cost is passed down to the consumer.
  2. So howcome I keep getting this error? I'm using Photobucket and have no problems posting anywhere else.
  3. Weeee! *does an umbrella dance on the tables. Hey! Is that "dubya" sitting there in the blue shirt? Ok, I'll have a grilled ham, cheese, and tomato sammich on wheat. Iced tea, lemon, not sweet. And... err... what's the soup of the day?
  4. Mmmmm, nice portrait. Handsome hunk you are...
  5. oook, how about building a addition to the garage? Or closing in the covered part? Yep I think you should make it a party room, dang the cars. (maybe if you promise to wash her car regularly and clean the snow and ice off in the winter???)
  6. Sure glad you're here Chappy. I remember you were paramount in helping Jeff start this forum. G4 has turned into an adult/almost porn forum aimed at kids. Parents out there should be doing something about it. Just what is up with todays parents? And what is up with G4? I hope someone or a thousand lets the powers that be know what crap is going on at this garbage, crap hole of a site. How stupid to relax spam and porn links and then close the only help board there. But then again, all *those* kids know how to reformat, don't they?
  7. Naww Robroy, the chevy pup ain't that big. (tis a GMC Safari, built on the S10 frame, so kinda mid-sized) Now my work van is full sized F-250 and yep that could do some shoving. But I only use the interstate gettin to and from my route in that.
  8. Pat, that is the best way I know of starting a new plot. Fortunately, my soil isn't bad at all and the shed had patio blocks on the floor, so I don't think it's very compacted. We will use the grass and topsoil we move from the new shed location. And cover it all with straw and fall leaves. 10x10 is really very small and it sure won't take long to get the double digging done. The biggest problem is the rock farm I live on. I spend more time bending over and pitching "too big" rocks, then I do digging new ground. Welcome to the cafe, G4ites!

  10. Ok, I'm pissed off at this weather. It's been so humid here I hung laundry for 9 hours yesterday in the sun and it didn't dry! It might as well be raining.
  11. Jeesh, our natural gas prices doubled in the last year. What's up with that? And today regular is $2.80 a gal. The b4st4rds ain't gonna stop till it's $3 and the settle back to 25 cents higher then a few monthst ago. Maybe $2.50.... Hey Chappy, you can buy beer in the US cheaper than your gas...
  12. Blah! Put the pedal to the metal, damn the radar! Opps! Slow down.. gas is $2.80 here today... Honesty, I hate the folks on cruise control hogging the left lane at just the speed limit. I say *GET OVER!*
  13. Ohh, man. Cats are just soo funny. And folks don't think they're smart? Ha! My bossy one is Gypsy, she's the "beta" female-in-charge of family harmony. No fighting or yelling in this house, or she gets all out of sorts and starts pushing around her 120 pound, 38" high shoulders, and 6' strech. We call her the guardian. Gypsy...... And our lil devil ginger, Pip.
  14. Yeah, Blim. You are lucky. That's why I feel blessed to have my dear friends that own the lake house. The beach there is at least a mile away from the county park. And boy, do we make sure to show our appreaciation by cleaning, laundry, and deep scrubbing things like the nic-nacs on the high shelves. (they have tons of beautiful stuff from their world travels) We even spend time helping clear the yard, they have a big patch of briars.. that we've been working away at.
  15. Two hours?? Crap, if I had to wait that long I'd be calling/writing whoever/whatever state department "squeeking my wheel" If folks would just b*tch when they are put out.... the system *can* change. Yes, folks! *ALL* of us.... Sounds like a good buy for you robroy. But you know what it takes to keep a decent car running.
  16. Saskatchewan? I thought you lived in Ontario. Man, I'd love to have that truck, but I need a Great Dane hauler. And I don't really need 4x4 here. When are gas prices gonna stablize? It costs $60 to fill my GMC van. And at 16-18 MPH I'm being careful about doing errands at the same time so I don't make extra trips. Thank God I live 10 mins. from work.
  17. Ewwww, bunny heads! Now I would be having a serious talk with Pip if he pulled that. Right now he is a kitten, so I'm letting him go for a while. We'll be talking soon though.
  18. You bet I remember the earthquake. Funny feeling, you don't hear it, nor do you really feel it. Kinda in between. Oh Pat, you have a alarm cat huh? Sweet Brit says different breeds are better hunters. Our new kitten is a Ginger and he hunts everything! Dogs tails, butterflies, dust bunnies, and has just graduated to mice. Now I gotta convince him not to leave them on the table. Yuuukkk!
  19. Ahh, but hummingbirds do eat small bugs for the protein. The nectar is only to charge their batteries for the bug hunt. Maybe the seed has some of Sidekickcats grain bugs. Or those little moths. And yes, please keep up your blessings. Everyone needs a prayer.
  20. Dang, gals. Old houses have holes on top of holes. The biggest problem is where the "sill plate" (bottom of the outside walls) meets the foundation. Wood and concrete/stone/brick expand and contract at different rates. It is an area hard to get at and see. It's covered on the outside by the exterior siding and real tough to see the problem from the basement unless you get on a stool or ladder to be eye level with that joint. Another good way is to use a smoky incense stick on a windy day, look where the cobwebs build up, and even a good strong flashlite used by someone outside. Get a good "mo
  21. Environment drives Hummer vs Hybrid row With ever-soaring world oil prices, you can receive up to an 80-percent tax credit when you buy a Hummer H2, but only $1500 when you buy a hybrid. Hummer v Hybrid
  22. Pat, those tiny ants are meat lovers believe it or not. So sweet baits won't work. I use plain old Borac Acid powder. If you have big ants, mix it with a little syrup into a putty, use just a bit (about the size of a wooden kitchen match) and put in a few cracks and crannies. Make sure cat can't reach it. Do the same for those tiny guys, but use fat, like suet or bacon grease. It's a poison they take back to the nest and feed their whole family with. Heh heh heh.... You can buy it at a drugstore. I have had the same can for 30 years. (a little goes a long way) And you are right about old hou
  23. Ooh, man. That is rotten luck. I have never heard of a engine going like that. *looks around in the "auto" spareparts corner for an engine. Nope, have a top end for a 2.6L Mitsubishi, starter, alternator, and other bits. No engine, sorry robroy.
