  1. The mountain is ramping up to do something again. Some steam bursts today, and more earthquake or tremors caused by moving magma under the surface. About 1pm PDT the visitors were evacuated from Johnson Ridge where the Cascades Volcano Observatory is located about 5 miles from the mountain. So this latest activity is being taken quite serious, which is good in order to protect people. Webcam of mountain with auto change every five minutes. Webcam of Mount St Helens Another local Portland tv channel news site link. This one had the best coverage yesterday due to their helicopter pilot/reporter
  2. I didn't know you had been banned too. But lots of people were. Nearly all that were on one particular section of the board I heard. Funny thing was I never even new about that section until it was deleted. Huh! And there was nothing wrong with it as far as I heard. Yes you are talking about what I didn't come out and say. This is what I was warned about. Yes that link was the one that had people so scared and paranoid. Plus any discussions about it, privately or otherwise. Which is why I expected to be banned even for asking questions in the thread you mentioned and elsewhere, and getting
  3. I also want to say welcome to Chappy. It is so good to see him over here. Hip Hip Hooray for all the family that comes together over here. Still a bunch of missing family and friends though. So let's find them and give them a push in the right direction --- over here!!! God bless everyone.
  4. Welcome from me too. This is a great board. It is great to have the family getting back together. So pull up a chair and relax and enjoy these boards. God bless everyone.
  5. Be careful everyone that is, or was, a member over there. I have been warned that members are, or have been, watched even where we didn't suspect we would be. Very paranoid place at times esp recently. As for being banned, I am sure I am on their watch list, and don't ask me why. And I always wonder when I go over to log in, if I will find out that I am also banned. I can't see why you would be banned. I never saw you do anything wrong. But there is this behind the scenes stuff there that is extremely strange and paranoid. It's funny that I didn't pick up on that at first, as I usuall
  6. You were doing something that needed to be done there, and the notifications over here gave us all a chance to go over in support of one of our family members. For that I say thanks to those who made us aware of the problem and tried to do something positive about it. Last I checked, it appeared to be very successful. The Good Guys Won over the Trolls. Pete said he was planning to stay and continue doing what he has been doing to give help where needed and to keep things cleaned up over there. So I pray it all works out there. And that he will occasionally come over here to say hi once in
  7. Well the past week of earthquake activity, over 10,000 quakes, was a good warning Mount St Helens would erupt soon. And it did, for about 20 minutes at 12:03pm PDT today. Steam and ash blew up from under the glacier in the crater next to the dome. I heard a couple of minutes ago that it went up to over 10, 000 feet. And the wind will take it west or southwest. It continued to blow for about 20 minutes then stopped. Went through the ash problems in 1980, don't want to do it again. So I hope it doesn't come to Portland area. I will come back to this with some links in a few minutes. It is being
  8. Welcome to these boards. Glad you came over. Yes there is alot of family here, new and old. It is a great board. Enjoy the peace and quiet of it. I too agree with Beluga, and am sorry for anything I said out of line. Please forgive me everyone. I want this board to stay friendly and without troll wars. By the way where did we have the troll recipes over here? God bless everyone.
  9. I will second that request for you. I like it on your sign out over there. Now will you please play me some cool jazz? Thank you Mr DJ. God bless everyone.
  10. Ok, I can understand you don't know what we are talking about in regards to G4. Were you ever on the TechTV boards? That is where many of us came from. And some even before that. I can't recall the name of it Z something. Then it became TechTV. Then G4 bought it and it has changed alot. And not for the best. The community, family type feeling, on this board is because most of us know each other from TechTV's "Ask for Windows Tips and Help" board which was the Call For Help tech help board. When the sale to G4 was imminent, Pete Covell, who was one of the main tech helpers on our old board and
  11. Pete spends far more than an hour on the HJT logs. I remember one that he said he spent several hours on just one section of it and said he was so tired his eyes were blurry. And some of the logs take alot of research on other boards and conferring with other HJT experts, especially with new variants of the bad stuff that has evolved to be nearly hidden from detection by anyone. Some logs go on for days or weeks of back and forth work to clean it up. All along Pete is patient and helpful, as are the others that have trained to do those logs. I think Pete and the others that do those logs are
  12. I haven't been over there since we got back from vacation the other day. Thanks for notifying us about what is going on over there. I will head over there and do what I can to support Pete. I bet he is mad and hurt at anyone who would try to remove him after all his hard work to get a special board for the CFH tech board people, and then all his mod work to keep it from turning into a sewer like the rest of the G4 boards. In fact I am mad about it too. So will head over there to support him. God bless everyone.
  13. We just took a week's vacation in the motorhome. We don't take a tv, or a computer, or phone with us on any trips. So nice to get away from all the noise and commotion of urban life. We do take the boombox, but only had it on once this trip, for a check for local weather midweek. That seemed important enough on the SW Washington coast in late Sept to check out in spite of it breaking up the peace and quiet. We had wonderful weather most of the time. Still nice this week. Wish we could have stayed down there longer. I never want to leave, so hubby has to practically pull me, kicking and scream
  14. So what we need is a list of places to order fast food online, and doublecheck that they will deliver it to the window near the computer. That will solve the food problem. But still need to do the bathroom breaks, so that is a good time to do the various anivirus and spyware scans or defrag system etc. Optimal use of time. Right. Oops I almost forgot, don't forget to use some of the time at the computer to earn a living to pay for all the fast food, rent, reclining computer chair to sleep in, ..... and new computer stuff. God bless everyone.
  15. I haven't used this program, but it was highly rated by Roger towards the end of the original Call For Help. Actually an intern found it and said it was good, so Roger did a review of it. Jet Audio, Free and Paid versions. Does both audio and video formats. Jet Audio Click on the first line to see what formats it supports. God bless everyone.
  16. About Tyme you came on board. Seriously we really hope and pray you get well quick! And no more accidents! I think you will enjoy the fun and games over here. It feels like home for sure. God bless and heal you I pray. God bless everyone.
  17. Have you checked with your phone company to see if they offer anything? Here are a couple of links to check out by entering your zip code in to see if anything available. Cnet reviews DSL Reports Epinions - Isps So maybe one of those will find something for you. God bless everyone
  18. Like chicken huh? Can I have a bite? Glad to see you over here Chinawht. I like your avatar! As for fried troll legs, I would think they would be extra tough from all the jumping around from thread to thread, board to board, and of course from their name changing acrobatics. So first we need to tenderize them a bit. Put them in a pot of salty hot water. Since they are already used to being in hot water, we wont need to worry about starting it out at low temperature. Just throw them in the hot water, boil for as long as they have bothered us on the boards. Then drain, while you fix a strong
  19. That was hilarious Nerelda. But I bet your Grandma was embarrassed. Poor dear. If I hadn't been on the computer when our cat pulled her "Sit on the off button on the surge control trick", we would have had some interesting times tracking down why the computer wouldn't turn on. As it was I nearly freaked out over suddenly seeing nothing but black screen. Then we looked for our darn (beloved) cat. She was behind the desk, still sitting on the button. She looked up as if to say what's the big deal? So now we have a large plastic kitchen colandar wedged over the top of the surge control and betw
  20. I agree about the safety issue, and have landed in some very questionable places a few times while doing a legitimate search. Fast getaway, then spent the next hour scanning my system for any junk left behind by the bad site. That's when I started to really look at the url of the selection before clicking on it. Though it is impossible to know if I am passing up good info, while trying to stay safe. To bad that Google itself can't do a safety scan before your selection pops up? Maybe with a rating system for content, along with security scanning??? I think a lot of people don't know how
  21. I didn't like the word Duh when it first surfaced as slang with an attitude, but now I think it is the best response to a lot of questionable remarks. So have I changed, or has the common sense quality of conversation deteriorated so badly in the last few years that we need to use a word such as Duh more? Another good response is MYOB to nosey questions. I can't remember which one of the advice columnists suggested that as a good answer years ago. God bless everyone.
  22. Congrats to the parents and grandparents. I hope there is a digital camera around and you post a picture of the newest edition to the family. Also Bravo for going back to school. Show all the kids up with all you have picked up from the boards. Ha! God bless everyone.
  23. It feels like a family reunion. So let's eat. Someone please save some of that backberry pie for me. And wow this potato salad is sure good. And so are the BBQ ribs. I could use a refill of my Dr Pepper too. Or a cup of coffee with my pie. That peach pie looks great too. Oh forget the diet today. Just enjoy!!! Good company, good food. fun catching up with everyone. Someone had better build a campfire for later tonight. God bless everyone.
  24. My screen name is for my Siamese cat, who usually is sitting beside me on "her" chair on a pillow, or on my lap, or if the sun is out she will be up on top of her cat post in front of the window. She started all this when we first got the computer set up and she demanded the chair my hubby was sitting on. So ever since it has been "her" chair. When I needed a screen name for my first boards, TechTV, my hubby said use "thesidekickcat", which is what we laughingly called her, and so it started. I dropped the "the" over on Leoville though but should have kept it. Most people either recognize me
  25. I am not sure if this will be allowed by Beluga, I hope so. I am not trying to start any fights, just to maybe shed some light on a subject if possible. About the email on the Heinz/Kerry donations. There was an article by one of the columnists of our daily paper recently saying that the various urban legend/myths websites had checked it out and that it was not as bad as it looks to be. I haven't spent much time on the various sites looking for the info tonight but did find this on one. So it is a partial truth it seems? But not bad I guess. Truth or Fiction about Heinz Kerry donations Hey I
