  1. I use this one a lot: http://bestsmileys.com/pageindex.htm If you want to copy and paste from it you need to open it in IE, not FF. Click on the icon itself (not the URL). Lots of Smilies available there. DICK
  2. Actually I don't see the problem--the American team came in second, ----------the Japanese team came in next to the last. Just a matter of prespective! :>) tg1911--That was a great story of "the American Way". I had to make the above comment tho. :>)
  3. macmarauder-- No problem, just thought you didn't understand AO and was trying to help you or maybe someone else on here that isn't sure what AO is. Sure hope he is talking to someone about it. I kept quiet about it for 27 years and all of a sudden it hit me--bad. PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder). I now take daily antidepressants and was in therapy for 8 years. Still have memory and concentration problems. EX: If I don't use the puter for a few days, it is like starting all over again when I do get on it. HERE is a site your dad might be interested in. I'll be there. Looks like fun.
  4. macmarauder-- FYI--Agent Orange is a defoliant used in Vietnam that was sprayed on bushes, trees, etc to basically strip them bare so they didn't provide cover for the enemy. They said it was harmless and when they sprayed it, if we were near--we got it on us on us. It is carcinogenic--causes cancer. As I said above--FYI, as your post indicated that you didn't know what it was. DICK
  5. I've met Mel Gibson, Sam Elliott, director Randall Wallace AND even better---I know 3 Medal of Honor awardees personally. The story of meeting the movie people is HERE. The pics are on the next page. (Link to pic page is at bottom of page) DICK My Webpage
  6. We left Summerdale, Al yesterday heading to Old Town, Fl and kept hearing on the news about tornado warnings in Al. Today on national news saw where a tornado touched down in Summerdale. Left just in time. While there we went to Gulf Shores, Al and saw the devastation left by Hurricane Ivan. It was amazing. Driving thru Pensacola, Fl saw lots more devastation from Ivan. I guess it's true: DON"T MESS WITH MOTHER NATURE! DICK

    About U?

Shadow_Thomas--- That was the first Vette I owned. Had about 13 total, non newer than '63. Love them old ones. The '59 had over 500HP when I sold it. Ran like a 'stripped a** ape". Weighed under 3000 lbs. Thanks for the salute. It is appreciated.

    About U?

OK, here goes. I'm 63, Vietnam Vet (Recon, 2/7, 1st Cav, '65). Married 30 years (To this one) One daughter--40 yrs old--bet she loves me telling that. Different jobs over the years--Post Office, McDonald's mgr, contractor, supervisor in a printing plant. Now retired, sold house and live fulltime in a motorhome traveling wherever we feel like. Using a satellite connection for keeping up with the net on the road. Use the puter constantly. I have to or I forget what I know about it. Really! In '92 I completely lost it. Started having flashbacks to Nam, got severly depressed and everything nega
  9. I wanted a short name for typing with my 2 typing fingers. Have all ten but just use 2. LOL acker1---part of my last name and it was taken on another forum when I first started using a puter, started adding numbers and 1 worked. Been able to use it on all forums but one. flashh4--WELCOME HOME!!! from another Nam vet---Recon, 2/7, 1st Cav, '65. Survivor of Ia Drang Valley (Movie--We Were Soldiers). See my webpage for some Nam pics and pics from our visit to the movie set for WWS. DICK My Webpage
  10. Oh yeah--I printed it out and put it with my DW stuff. Still have to do my old laptop yet. Heading to DC thur for our (Ia Drang Valley Survivors) annual banquet and the next mornings ceremony at The Wall. Be back here (Illinois) the following monday. Start getting things packed & ready and heading to Fl on the 18th. With the obligatory stop at the Tunica, Ms casinos. I'll try and think of all of you in the frigid north this winter. Yeah sure! Last winter, at the same place, I actually had to put on long pants one day. Got a bit chilly. DICK
  11. UPDATE: I have it installed! Someone on a satellite gave me detailed instructions and it went like a breeze. Thanks to all for their help. DICK
  12. Hi Marsh, I do have a Linksys WRT54G and it is in my bro-in-laws house hooked up to his cable system. It reaches out to my MH so I'm happy about that. I haven't unhooked from there yet to try with the 6000. Trying to set up the 6000 with the ethernet cable from the modem. When I tried installing I got to the page shown in other post and that's it. Couldn't get any further. An installer on the DW forum this evening suggested I disable the 'bridges' shown on that page but didn't know how to do it and I don't either. Just trying to get all my ducks in a row with the DW before I head to Fl and hav
  13. Hi all, Guess what? I tried IE on the wireless connection tonight and it connected. The only thing I have done different was I uninstalled my DW modem in preparation to install a newer model DW modem. Must have been a conflict between IE on wireless & DW. Whatever. New modem doesn't install on puter. I has all it's stuff inside and connects by an ethernet cable. Still trying to work that out. (See other post.) Thanks to all for working with me. DICK
  14. I hope I can explain this. Besides the problems with IE I am updating my DirecWay (Satellite internet) modem. Following directions with new unit I get to THIS PAGE and need to add another connection link for the DW in the "LAN or High-speed internet" section. (Old modem was installed on my puter, on new one the modem stands alone and links to puter with ethernet cable). I've gone thru the windows help but still cannot figure out how to do it. It should show an icon similar to the others with "local area connection" as the title. Using XP. Thanks DICK
  15. thesidekickcat-- I can't see either. The change was made in Outlook Express. But only for outgoing email. This only happens when I am on the wireless connection. It works OK with DW. Not sure if wi-fi setting would be the problem. Same wi-fi on my old puter and IE opens OK there. I still feel it is someway connected to an IE setting. I'm parked in my bro-in-laws yard now. Only camper here. :>) I go to 4 RV forums but thought I would have more luck in a puter forum. Might be worth a shot tho.
