  1. Happy Birthday to both of you folks. May you each be blessed with a long life filled with good health, happiness, and prosperity. P.S. Chinawht, if you are reading this please please please check in with your friends, it has been so long since anyone heard from you! We sure do miss you my friend! I hope you and hubby are ok, and survived all the illnesses and hospitalizations. Pat God bless everyone
  2. Happy Birthday wishes to Extreme! May you be blessed with a long life filled with good health, happiness, and prosperity. Pat God bless everyone
  3. If you want to reuse the same software cds as you originally registered the programs with, again, then you probably shouldn't leave it on the computer as it would violate your Eula agreements. Also if you still decide to go ahead and sell it, rather than keeping it as a good second computer (backup spare in case you need one someday), you should run a good wiper program to erase all your private info completely. Pat God bless everyone
  4. Adobe and Microsoft have settled it the hard way!!! PC World article about Microsoft dropping PDF from next Office version I wonder if the Foxit free reader/editor is a full replacement for whatever the Adobe one does that wont be in next Office? Foxit Free Small PDF Reader I've never figured out what's so special about PDFs anyhow? But then I am just a non-techie! Pat God bless everyone
  5. Chocolates do sound like a good idea Liz, thanks! As for my clematis...don't know if it will bloom or not. Checked it for buds this morning, didn't see any. And it is growing so slowly. Densely packed but not climbing up the deck trellis as high as usual. We've had quite a bit of heavy showers and cool weather, plus last few days have been warmer but so humid at least for here. So far my tomatoes have survived and have even started showing some new growth and a blossom or two, even though they sure didn't look good during the worst of the downpour days. Lost one of my zucchini plants, luckily
  6. Bless you and thank you, for your going beyond the call of duty to send it to the security companies etc. for us to hopefully soon be protected from it. Pat God bless everyone
  7. I've used a few of these, with some variations. Another fun one to do is the "good cop, bad cop" routine. Whichever one of us answered the phone, would be nice but say my spouse has to approve of this so please tell them what you have told me, followed by the other one pulling the yelling at them for disturbing our lives by calling our private home at inopportune times. But my favorite was the one I did when Oregon had it's own "Do Not Call' list. I would be sooooo sweet to the caller, act very interested in the product, company etc, telling them to please give me all their product and compan
  8. Happy Birthday Dr V, Come back and visit us, we have missed you!!! May you be blessed with a long life filled with good health, happiness, and prosperity. Pat God bless everyone
  9. no intrusion.. your welcome anytime.. now that we know more about you , we know how to take any comments.
  10. Hello Mac, so good to see you!!! First I am sorry for not responding to your previous posts, but have been going through some flashback problems recently which have even spilled out on the boards....again....unfortunately! Sometimes I wonder if I will ever get over it enough to not ovrerreact. Sigh Sigh Sigh!!! So having done that yet again, see why I have told you things take a long long time to process and deal with, and I am so glad you are getting expert help through therapy for your problems. Have had some counseling myself, and many one on one talks with others dealing with same thing as
  11. While I respect that not all people view adult material on line, it was the driving force that got the internet rolling. I used to run a BBS and adult content was what most people asked for (I did not provide adult content as my BBS was for tradewars and a few doors to e-mail) Its not my intent to insult someones personal ideals, but is also not my intent to censor my humor. I am rather suprised when people don't see the humor or are afrade to mention topics as if you ignoring them they will go away. If you stay on this board long enough you will notice that we try not to offend and you don'
  12. I can't believe how much this thread has affected me!!! First the awful ratty bug thingy gave me nightmares, now the plastic bag coming close to being shot has me laughing so hard my sides hurt!!! Never mind the image of a naked man ready to shoot a plastic garbage bag! ST you are so lucky the neighbors didn't call the cops.... ..... or the men with those uncomfortable looking looooong-sleeved white jackets!!! Who says real life isn't scary/funny in ways far beyond whatever script writers can ever dream up?!!! Pat God bless everyone
  13. I read it is a bug in Star Office, but not necessarily being exploited. Just someone tried to see if they could exploit the flaw. Hopefully it will be patched before it is misused by anyone! By the way, I disagree with the cavalier way people talk about the Internet as if the porn available on the Internet is all that the Internet is good for is porn. So sad that porn always seems to sully and off-color so many places even family boards such as this one in the comedy section etc, or even innocent warning threads such as this one!!! Remarks such as "and last time I checked, downloading porn
  14. I heard about this dangerous weed on the noon news today, thought others ought to be warned about it. Several states from Oreogn, Washington, even Michigan, New York and other states too. Also Great Britain and Canada (British Columbia) have problem areas with it. The news showed pictures of the plant, which does look rather pretty, and pictures of people who have been victims of the sap burning them and leaving awful looking painful adhesions and scars for several years after contact. This sounds and even looks like something out of a sci-fi movie, but is a real noxious toxic weed. King Count
  15. Happy Birthday! May you be blessed with a long life filled with good health, happiness, and prosperity. Pat God bless everyone
  16. Nice to see you back here Murtu! We have missed you! Martint, if you still want more information, here is a review I just read this morning in my current issue of PCWorld magazine. Pick the Perfect Cell Phone Also an interesting site that was linked in the article above, is this one on dead cell phone zones. Dead Cell Zones I too wish you an early Happy Birthday! Pat God bless everyone
  17. Thanks Barb for recommending SuperAdBlocker, it sure does look good. But I am using F-Secure Internet Security Suite which is very fussy (it deletes, blocks, or denies other programs which I hate!) about not using products that would interfere with it's main items....so if SuperAdBlocker was only an ad blocker I could try it, but it also is an antispyware program. So sigh....until I change IS suites that seems to be out. I have heard of an ad blocker called WebWasher something...but don't know if it is legitimate or loaded with bad stuff too. It is hard to separate good stuff from bad, at lea
  18. happy Belated Birthday! May you be blessed with a long life filled with good health, happiness, and prosperity. Pat God bless everyone
  19. My F-Secure IS was blocking stuff there left and right so fast I only was able to read one of the baloons saying an Active X installer was blocked, as I bailed out fast, and the Google popup blocker added some more blocked popups too. Thanks but no thanks, even though it sounds interesting. I should have read JD's post before I clicked on the link. Pat God bless everyone
  20. Happy Birthday to you both! May you each be blessed with long lives filled with good health, happiness, and prosperity. Pat God bless everyone
