Thanks for all the help team! Thanks to my good friend Google, and the search query: 'windows xp search freezes' I came up with the following solution: turn off the indexing service by clicking Start->Run->services.msc Scroll down to locate the Indexing Service item, right-click it and click Properties. Set it to disabled and reboot. it worked!!! anyone care to tell me why? Thanks again for all the help!!!! M@
