Oooops, Matt, I didn't know that. Where do you post if you have a question that is specific to the usage of the forum, like if you don't know how to do something, say like setting the correct time in your zone? My biggest dilemma is always wondering just where to post my "usually weird questions". Thank goodness for the folks who have the power to move them to the correct places! *and you do work here, you've been a wealth of information. Thank you!!* Liz <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Hi Liz! I guess that would be the right place to post a question about the forum. I think a question is a fo

Just one more thing Ive noticed (god Im starting to sound like I work here, lol) the comments and suggestions forum is really for posting comments or suggestion on how to improve the forum.. like layout suggestions or specific requests or reporting a forum error. Not a big deal, im sure a mod or admin will move threads if need be. Matt

Just to throw in here: Im using AVG Free, along with Sygate personal firewall (also free) they work very well together. I do know someone who had major problems with kaspersky, such that it jeopardized his system... but by his reputatuion, it was probably his own fault. Ive never used it before, but other than him, I've heard good things about it. What Jeff (Besttechie) submitted is a good list. Matt

check here: http://www.besttechie.net/forums/index.php...t=0entry33814 it should probably be moved somewhere else though..

Now come on, there's really no need for that. Everyone who would like a better forum experience is welcome here.

Matt

Thanks! Be sure to vote to keep it kept!

Oh no! The BT article on Wikipedia is being considered for deletion! Quick, vote for it to be kept! Heres the link to vote on: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Vot...tion/Besttechie to vote, click the 'edit this page' button on the top, and vote for it to be kept! Matt

ah yes. The besttechie chatroom. If you use an IRC client, such as mIRC or IceChat, you can connect to the besttechie chat room. it is on the wyldryde.org netword (irc.wyldryde.org) and the room name is #besttechie. If you don't have a chat client, on the besttechie home page (http://www.besttechie.net) you will find a link to the chat on the left. Happy posting all Matt

Just to add, I use Sygate Personal (free)

Also, I would check out the home page http://www.besttechie.net for some additional info on security tools, reccomended downloads, and links. Matt

Here is a list of security tools that BT reccomends: http://www.besttechie.net/index.php?option...id=20&Itemid=43

A Suggestion, If Technically Possible
Matt replied to Brian_Holiday's topic in Comments & Suggestions
I think the idea being expressed is like a "vault" kind of forum that holds a copy of every thread. Matt -
Just for clarification, some nonsence is welcome in such threads as the Word assosciation thread, randome randomnes thread of randomtivity. but keeping it in good humor would be nice

Hey everyone! Here are some things our new members would like to know. PLease note, I am not an authortative figure here, so please don't take this information as law. If you have never used these types of forums before, there are some differences. Once thing you will notice, I'm sure, is that the tags for embedding extras into your posts are different than those of JeePhor. Play around with those, I had trouble with them at first when I came here. Another thing you will see, is that BT has subforums. I don't think G4 had these. For example, if you click on the 'Windows Support' forum, y
