no, there is no need to have return 0 because basically you are doing that manually....return 0 = the enter you hit. If you really want to test your knowledge (in the future, i don't think i or even you can do this now) and make a text RPG....that would be very cool

I'll check it out when i get the chance...thanks.

I just started going, as BT may know....

well, just a small comment on C++ in general: If you want to have the "Hit enter to continue" thing, for iostream i believe the code is "cin.get()" lets say you want the person to hit enter to finish the program. put that in the place of return 0 and the person will have to hit enter to finish the program. Also, i got into the habit of after inputs, putting "cin.ignore();" which means, ignore the "enter" that is going to be pressed.... just wanted to share my knowledge....

Well, i know, not another flash drive program post. BUt, this should be a bit harder....I recently got a flashdrive from my mom (she is a doctor who got it from a conference), but it is only 16MB. I want to put a few programs i had in mind (for high school, when i get there), but i thought that lets see what others would do first. So, what programs should i put on (keep in mind this is a 14 year old kid)?

try lowering the resolution. That should help, i think.... EDIT: Sorry, didn't tell you how: Desktop>right-click>properties>settings There, you can lower the resolution....

Well, i have heard that apple products' battery life aren't so good once you use them enough. Many of my friends, stuff on the internet, etc., say that the battery dies quickly--faster than other brands. However, other than that (which isn't everyone's experience) i heard ipods are awesome. Though, Creatives have pretty good reviews, if you are looking for an alternative. Whatever you get, have fun with it....:D:D

macmarauder--hey, explosive alphabet soup sounds EXACTLY like something he would make....

Well, just to talk about digital cameras now: CF (compact flash) isn't the greatest type, but still, it works pretty well. SD/MMC i think is one of the best, just because of the amount of compatible things: PDAs, digital camera, expandable MP3 players, etc. I haven't had any info on smart media yet, so can't talk about that one....MS/pro (Sony's proprietary format) is alright, though i wouldn't get it due to compatibility reasons. It only works with Sony's Clies, Cybershots, and whatever else they offer....so, basically, if you get a sony product, they make sure you are going to buy more of th

Roxio (Easy CD creator) is probably number 2, right after nero (by TSS standards). I have it, and i have burned many ISOs with it...truly great, simple software....

great, just more things we need to worry about....

No problem, i was just restating what mikex was saying.... If you are getting into the habit of backing up, you should consider getting a DVD burner in your next computer....holds massive amounts of data, so a couple DVD-RWs should last a looooong time. But thats for the future, nowadays DVD burners cost a lot....
-
Just wondering....are you talking about a specific program, or your OS/computer won't recognize the cd burner? I mean, what is telling you that u can't back up on a cd?

I'm assuming you are using IE, but regardless: First, install and run Spybot: Search and Destroy and Adaware. Please update both of them before running them. That should get rid of a lot of spyware, which is huge source of pop ups. Also, Windows Messenger could also be the source of some of the pop ups. You can learn how to disable it here. Also, use Spyware Blaster and IE-SPYAD (IE-SPYAD only works with Internet Explorer). If you are still getting popups, please post back with specifics. Thanks.

Yes, save everything as data. If you make a music CD, it will only allow around 80 minutes, in contrast to the data CD's 700MB....so, you will have much more space if you back up audio and things of that sort as data and not music CDs, etc....

As others have said, this mostly happens on old computers. I recently installed windows 2000 on my laptop, and it comes with this screen. I believe it does have something to do with the OS, it not being able to shut the computer off....

Yeah, when i found out that old Beluga from CFH/TSS boards on the tectv.com forums was making a forum of his own, i had to join....I wasn't a daily comer then, but after G4techtv's boards took a turn for the worse, i found refuge here.....I really prefer this place to that place now, especially because of the familiar faces (or names ) that i see here...
