Your log is clean. Here are some tips, to reduce the potential for spyware infection in the future, I strongly recommend installing the following applications: Detect and Remove Programs: How to use Ad-Aware to remove Spyware <= If you suspect that you have spyware installed on your computer, here are instructions on how to download, install and then use Ad-Aware. How to use Spybot to remove Spyware <= If you suspect that you have spyware installed on your computer, here are instructions on how to download, install and then use Spybot. Yeah, you should make sure you disable uPnP and instead of WEP try WPA, it's more secure. Might also want to look into locking down your network by MAC address. if you need more info on these let us know. B

FYI about AllOfMP3: Article from the NY Times on June 1st Also, as Bubba Bob mentioned, they take/took paypal as a payment method, however I believe they no longer do. They have it listed but I believe there is a problem with it. That article by the NY Times should clear up a lot of questions in this thread about AllOfMP3. B

Windows Firewall Settings
Besttechie replied to macfreeman7's topic in Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista, and XP
Here's what you have to do: 1. run regedit to edit the registry 2. go to this location in the registry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft 3. there should be a windowsfirewall key listed under Microsoft, delete just the entire windows firewall key, do not mess with the others. 4. Reboot and all should be fine. Actually it is recommended to do the following. http://groups.google.com/group/microsoft.p...db5d70dc5d20ffc This is usually caused by a trojan and/or virus. Seeing as the OP has already fixed his problems with HJT and other recommended programs a Repair install is -

Windows Firewall Settings
Besttechie replied to macfreeman7's topic in Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista, and XP
Just thought of another thing we could try is creating a new Administrator account and see if the firewall works on that one. Maybe his account is corrupt? Worth a shot before the repair install. B -
Windows Firewall Settings
Besttechie replied to macfreeman7's topic in Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista, and XP
Hi Everyone, I worked with macfreeman7 this past weekend trying to clean everything up. I remotely connected to his machine and did a bunch of stuff. Let me try and recap what I did, but like I said it was a ton so I might miss one or two things. 1. I made sure his machine was completely virus/trojan/malware/rootkit free and it seems to be now. 2. I uninstalled Norton and installed AVG for him. 3. I ran a bunch of registry edits pertaining to the Windows Firewall. 4. I reset the Windows Firewall 5. I also had him uninstall and reinstall SP2 and as Matt stated above the firewall worked in SP -
Ah I see. You're using a skin that isn't really set up for our forum. I didn't really think anyone used that skin and I don't update it, you're better off using the other one. Anyway, that's why you don't see it. B

Hey, Can you repost that picture? It's not coming up here, looks like it was deleted off photobucket or something. B

The following is a list of tools and utilities that I like to suggest to people. This list is full of great tools and utilities to help you understand how you got infected and how to keep from getting infected again. Firefox- Internet Explorer is not the most secure and best browser. There are safer and better alternatives available. I recommend Firefox, however Opera is good as well. Spybot Search & Destroy - Uber powerful tool which can search and annhilate nasties that make it onto your system. Now with an Immunize section that will help prevent future infections. AdAware - Another ve

Hey, Alright... First off, you should move HJT to it's own permanent folder such as C:\HijackThis - that way you can have backups. So move it from the temp folder to there. Next close all windows except HJT and have it fix the following: O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [jHGUd] C:\Documents and Settings\Zachary Pittinger\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\OHUJ8LUZ\istrecover[1].exe O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [.nvsvc] C:\WINDOWS\system\smss.exe /w Then boot to safe mode and delete the following files and folders if present: C:\Documents and Settings\Zachary Pittinger\Local Settings\Temporary Internet

Hey Shane, Yeah, that's a lot. I personally don't really like text messaging at all. I'd rather use a computer and have a real keyboard, but that's just me. I know people in the UK and Europe use text messaging a lot more than here in the US. I was talking to someone around there and he said that some people have gotten about 2,500 in a week alone! That's incredible. My girlfriend (Mandy) also used to text message a lot, but she hasn't really done it for a while. I like to send her picture messages from time to time with my phone though. B
-
Hey Everyone, I've been wanting to redo Mandy's site for a while now and I got to it today. Anyway, here's the link to it again: http://www.perfectography.com/ Let me know what you think, the 'full' gallery isn't installed yet, but I like the idea of the 'Mini Gallery' - how about you? When I did it I thought that would be a good place for the 'Best of the Best' of her photos. So there it is the new Pefectography.com Feel free to reg on the forums too! Btw, the site looks best in Firefox. B

Here is the message it sends to the person you're emailing. Note: where it says "your friend(Besttechie)" that will be your username in the parenthesis.

Besttechie replied to Bree26's topic in Malware Removal
Hi Bree26, I'm sorry about the wait jwbirdsong your helper is usually right on top of things. However I haven't seen him online lately something in his real life may have come up. I see that it has been a while since he last replied, in the mean time please post a brand new hijackthis log and I will see if I can find someone to take over. In most cases (on all anti-spyware sites) we don't switches helpers unless they are leaving to go away or need to get some real life things worked out. Once again, I appreciate your patience and will try to find someone to finish helping you but please po
