Guys, Im Looking For Windows Xp Sp2 64 Bit
TheTerrorist_75 replied to aimar215's topic in Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista, and XP
WinXP 32 bit is quite compatible with that processor. In fact with the limited driver support for WinXP 64 bit you are better off with the 32 bit version. -
I use Home, FAT32 and 512MB of RAM. My paging file is set to 768 min. and 1536 max.

Days like this I wish I could still drink. I'm cold, wet and sore from that darn job. One more week before I call it quits for the winter, maybe.

XP Pro or Home? Are you using NTFS or FAT32? How much memory does your system have? How much free space is left on the hard drive? What is your page file settings?

Shhh! That's how I find out who is selling what in classified ads. BTW. Mine doesn't show.

I kind of did that today, except it was a chilly lake and the hole was deeper than the chest waders. The feeling is just coming back to my toes. Besides a death or injury to family there is nothing worse than discovering that your tools have been stolen. Especially when the cost of the tools was over a couple grand.

The homeowner is going to call me after she gets out of work with the delivery guys phone number. I looked up the name in the white pages and got two hits. One checks out to be involved with education services and his home is in a rich neighborhood. The other lives in a more rural area and Google Maps satellite view shows he has a large structure (possible multiple bay garage) behind the house. I know someone who deals with hot goods in the area of the second guy. He has been notified. Once I get the phone number and can confirm where this POS lives I will proceed to inform the State Police.

Xp Popups And Messenger
TheTerrorist_75 replied to mystified's topic in Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista, and XP
Alerter is used for administration alerts within a networked setup. It isn't related to spam popups. Messenger Service should be disabled. This is where the spam popups come from. Disabling Messenger Service in Windows XP To me Windows Messenger is also worthless and not needed. Simple way to Disable/Remove Windows Messenger. -
Yesterday totally sucked. I hadn't been able to visit the work site because of the bad weather during the past week. The hot tub company stated they couldn't get the tub to us while it was nasty out yet the delivery person showed up last Monday evening. I went to work yesterday morning and discovered someone had uncovered our handtools that were tarped and placed in a back entrance alcove of the home we are working on. They had been pawed through then left to the elements. I spotted the hot tub sitting on the patio we had just finished laying pavers on the previous week and the open trench whe

Updated! Those With Avg Read This.
TheTerrorist_75 replied to TheTerrorist_75's topic in Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista, and XP
They didn't delete the thread. They just made it invisable until it was verified by Grisoft (AVG) plus I had notified TeMerc, an old friend from techTV, who is a mod at WindowsBBS plus a HJT expert, about it and he checked into it. mystified The problem only affected WinXP that wasn't updated to SP2. The problem was resolved by newer AVG update and by following the steps I outlined. You shouldn't need to worry if you get SP2 installed as soon as possible after installing XP and/or update AVG. -

Yes they are. I hate toolbars which now includes Google after it's BS auto-updating. -
Iexplore High Mem Usage
TheTerrorist_75 replied to shanenin's topic in Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista, and XP
Make sure it's C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\Iexplore.exe) and not C:\Windows\Iexplore.exe or C:\WinNT\Iexplore.exe). Check to see how many versions of Java are installed and how many instances are listed in ActiveX. BTW, the newest version is 1.6.0. Seeing as they have so many IM programs how many toolbars are installed in IE? -
Major Crash With Xp Updates
TheTerrorist_75 replied to mystified's topic in Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista, and XP
Just do the Express. You may have unknowingly allowed an incompatible update to download when you went to Custom afterwards. As a side note, does your XP CD have SP2 included? -

Short Or Shock My Mobo
TheTerrorist_75 replied to shanenin's topic in Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista, and XP
I planned on laying out the holes then insert long thin machine screws through the back side. I would run one down to hold the screw in place then use two nuts (either side of board) to hold the board in place. I would also attach some L brackets to hold a power supply and different drives. -
Short Or Shock My Mobo
TheTerrorist_75 replied to shanenin's topic in Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista, and XP
There shouldn't be a problem. I usually place a static bag that the mobo came in under it on top of the foam. I have never grounded the test board. I plan on installing a mobo setup on a sheet of peg board on the wall that my test bench is against to use for testing components. -
Wow! Does that sound familiar. hehehe
