I had to pick up a couple of gifts this morning. The store was almost deserted. Took me 10 minutes to grab the gifts, pay and leave. I should have held off and done all of my shopping this morning.

Merry $mas. Have a Happy Corporation Day.

Six fingers of Jack Daniels with more Jack on the side.

Go back to the paging file options and set it to System managed size then click the Set button then OK - OK - OK. Reboot.

My friend in the sheriffs department is looking into my missing tamper on the Q.T. I just as soon get my equipment back now instead of waiting for a trial to end. I can punish the thief much more thoroughly myself.

How to have a Merry Xmas. Nine hours total shopping time = $1030.00 + 1/4 tank of gas = sore muscles, headache, 1/2 pack of cigarettes (I had quit again) and bad mood. Just sign me cranky at Xmas time.

You do not want to go shopping. You do not want to go shopping. Keep repeating that. Four hours spent at Kmart. Shoppers are nuts! GRRRRRR!!!! Merry, bah humbug, Xmas.

Windows 2000 Not Starting
TheTerrorist_75 replied to neoxxl's topic in Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista, and XP
Check for dust buildup. It may be overheating. Also check the power supply. It may be failing. -

I liked the reviews and price of this power supply. HIPER HPU-4K530-MS ATX12V v2.2 530W Power Supply I've always been a WD man. This is more than big enough for me. I can create enough partitions for different OSes plus storage. Western Digital Caviar SE WD1600JB 160GB 7200 RPM IDE Ultra ATA100 Hard Drive Add: BIOSTAR TForce6100-939 AMD Athlon 64 3200+ Kingston ValueRAM 1GB (2 x 512MB) (PC3200) WinXP Pro SP2 OEM Set of OKGEAR round cables I end up with a decent SFF PC for about $520. I have yet to decide whether to buy or build a case.

The link in yur signature is not the official site for XoftspySE. It is unacceptable. I will confirm that your link should be removed.

I don't know about the losing the connection but that darn MVPs host file wouldn't allow me to connect to a lot of the tech forums that I go to. It is too restrictive. SpywareBlaster's protection works fine enough for me.

Sounds like someone thinks they're Mario Andretti. OEM clutch systems are not meant for speed shifting and hard launches. I had one of the old RaidMax 400W power supply units with the aluminum casing and dual fans. The darn thing could break your toes if dropped even with the external aluminum case. It was well built and quite stable for going on 6 years. I think the mobo and one hard drive may have taken a hit. My HDD0 clicked and froze the PC then after a reboot and chkdsk I had a 0x77 BSOD. I just completed a wish list at NewEgg and now I am going to compare it with Tiger Direct.

Nope. I think maybe some corruption occurred when the PSU did it's fire dance.

It stated new hardware found > Both optical drives and both hard drives.

I have surge protection installed right in my electric panels plus I use a Belkin UPS for the PCs. I traced the cause of my problem to my 6 year old PSU. Back when I purchased it the PSU was considered one of the best units and overkill for my system. The caps couldn't take the stress anymore due to age and burst setting some dust/dog hair buildup on fire. I blow the dust out of everything a couple times a year but I didn't get to it because of work. The forced air furnace has been running for a month and the dust built up quickly.

I think I lucked out. I tore the PC down and cleaned off the smoke residue and dust out. I wiped the board down with alcohol using cotton swabs. I didn't notice any electronics damage. I dug around and found an old Sparkle Power 200W PSU that I used for an older yet Pentium I / Abit server setup. I went to fire it up and no go. I changed the power supply cord and away it went. XP popped right up and the first thng it did was notify that new hardware was found. All of my drives were redetected. I hope I don't have to mess with activation again. I am shocked that the SP 200W PSU can power everyt

Nothing worse than seeing your best friend go up in flames. My favorite PC turned into a flame thrower yesterday and is completely destroyed. I am now stuck with the old shop PC HP Vectra running Win95. I had just sold my old Slot 1 AMD setup to a friend so she could do her school work. Remember those questions about leaving your PC running 24/7 and what may happen. If I wasn't home when it occurred things could have ended up badly. The flames scorched my printer and the stack of printer paper before I could shut it down and put it out. This old house would have burned in a heart beat. What a

Updates From Last Tues Ok?
TheTerrorist_75 replied to wonderent's topic in Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista, and XP
I won't be able to find out for awhile. My computer caught fire just after I posted the previous reply and started to get setup for the updates. For now all I have running is this ancient HP Vectra with Win95. -

I have yet to download them. Let you know in a short. I have heard of problems with an update and XP Office. -
Happy B-Days!!!

Change the paging file initial size to 256MB. Also defrag the drive in Safe Mode.

Use My Computer A Access Point
TheTerrorist_75 replied to shanenin's topic in Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista, and XP
I don't see why it wouldn't work. It would be the same as using a desktop PC with two Ethernet cards to act as a host. -
If the problem doesn't resolve after changing the settings and rebooting the PC change the initial page file size to 256MB and leave the maximum at 1536MB. Are you by chance using Norton's System Works? That crappy utility can cause this issue and my suggestion is to rid your PC of it.
