  1. The one that didn't install and you can not find may have beed superseded by a newer update.
  2. NewEgg 3 day shipping is $5. Still $10 cheaper than Crucial.
  3. Better off with a router with more than 2 computers.
  4. These freaking headphones are great! The first song I cranked up was Another Brick In The Wall, Part 2. Great bass and mids. I don't even dare turn the volume up full. The firm setting is comfortable as hell and doesn't put pressure on my glasses. I like the fact that they're light as hell and I can lay down with them. Further tests will continue. Time for some Zeppelin!!
  5. "TT75 has compiled a wish list at NewEgg for his new Socket 939 WinXP Pro PC." "There is no Vista on his horizon, yet."
  6. I just compared the deal at Crucial to NewEgg's price for the same stick. Crucial with the $15 off = $145 NewEgg regular price = $130
  7. I haven't used or installed Office XP Pro on any PCs. I would prepare myself to save any emails or data plus be ready to input all information again. Always remember Sod's Law "Anything that can go wrong, will".
  8. You just installed the newest updates, didn't you? msxml4-KB927978-enu - update or hijack??, I have done the malware/virus thing already - is this real? Windows XP MSXML 4.0 SP2 Security Update (KB927978) 09 January 2007 http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=927978
  9. I would try another hard drive(s) first to see if it is the controller. I also wouldn't worry about talking to them Indians to re-validate. See if you can retrieve the wpa.dbl and wpa.bak files from the root drive and copy them to a floppy or thumbdrive. This way if you need to replace the motherboard get the same one and replace the files as below. http://www.theeldergeek.com/activation_workaround.htm
  10. It is. To search them to see if they are legit: The CLSID / BHO List / Toolbar Master List
  11. It would in troubleshooting to have the exact names. I don't see an attachment.
  12. I had that issue with a failing logic board on a Maxtor hard drive. I would try a different slaved hard drive to confirm it isn't the IDE controller going south.
  13. I may install it in 2011 when XP support stops.
  14. I want to rebuild mine and include links. Maybe my own background/template.
  15. No problems with log off using Opera. I can close the tab, reopen it and still be logged on. I am only logged off if I close the browser which is the way I have it set. With Opera all I do is click the Wand in the toolbar to log in. Nice, simple feature.
  16. The sun is shining and the temps are starting to climb above zero. No snow forecasted for today. All we got was about a foot of white stuff the last couple of days. The first six inches was wet heavy crap that I spent 2 hours shoveling from my parking areas and walk. The following six inches was nice light, fluffy stuff that only took an hour to shovel. If only we didn't get the high winds that kept the windchill well below zero. Wierd winter here with only sixty inches of total snowfall to date. It seems nice not to have a couple of feet dumped at a time. I hope we don't get a nasty pay back.
  17. Go Saints!!! Show them Bears where to go crap.
  18. Good thing I checked this thread. All of the mods and admins were in my block list. How did that happen?
  19. Handplane was having problems with PMs also. I think it was cleared up.
  20. My desktop is set at 1024x768 and the calendar sits below Powered by Geeks.
  21. You can copy an original CD for your own use but I do believe it is illegal to sell a copy of XP. If you were to sell the original disk with the COA it would be legal.
  22. You can only supply the URL to the video. The only way that the video could be "seen" in a post would be if it were embedded into the website.
  23. To replace any ATX PSU in a proprietary PC this SPARKLE FSP350-60PN ATX 350W Power Supply works quite well and is resonably priced. I am using Sparkle's 250W PSU to run my system after the Raidmax 400W power supply caught fire. Sparkle's PSUs seem like they put out much more than specified.
