sorry not much advice here. you'll have to take the long annoying route. the only thing i can think of is that i've seen something some what similar with a conflict of website subscriptions and working offline.

one suggestion i always tell people is to wait a week or so and keep an eye on how others are doing with updates. i remember on the last OS X update people were reporting problems with older G4s so i waited a few days until Apple rereleased it with changes made. then the same people gave the all clear. so i ran update and never had to deal with the same problems as everyone else.

yeah unfortunately it's been going on for a long time. sadly most people don't even know that they got less than what they paid for.

this doesn't worry me yet. it'll mostly be the same as now except the adds change regularly. now when they start beaming them into your dreams that'll really worry me. "must buy Nikes Shoes"

well unfortunately not all PC hardware is the same. with almost a dozen different main computer brands and a tons of different after-market brands, different computers react differently. plus .... well it's M$. they don't exactly finish their products before shipping them out. i personally dispize M$ more than the next guy but between debugging windows (finishing windows) and providing supports for 1,000s of parts they've got a lot to do. i personally totally hate the idea of being forced to update.

Had my tax's done a month ago,got enough back to plan a much needed vacation. Will be gone for a couple of weeks,going south for those 14 days. HHmmmm? what this little red button on the bottom of the tower. there's a label next to it that says in case of emergencies only. it's not an emergency so i shouldn't push it but i fell compelled to.
