Good point! It might save on resources which is good as I run older hardware. Tabbed browsing has certainly sped up my surfing. Excellent stuff. Thanks to you as well tictoc for nudging me in this direction.

Well said, my man! Chappy makes some excellent points. It is impossible to have any OS (M$, Unix/Linux, OS X) complete and perfect because hackers, weirdos are always looking for ways to break and or compromise things. I'm generally happy with the way that M$ provides security patches, upgrades for my XP Pro box. However, M$ does on occasion take a bit too long to issue patches.

Thanks for the tip! Tabbed browsing is very cool. I've got 5 tabs open right now. I guess you can teach an old dog new tricks

Sounds good........hopefully the beer pool is lite beer. I had a few too many beers with my Dad on holidays.......................it's like I ran a waistline.exe program on my gut

I'd go for a smell-o-vision plug-in at a BBQ However, there are some places that smell-o-vision would be a distinct draw back..........heh-heh.

Hey tictoc, I also installed 1.0.6 on my Ubuntu box. No problems...........yet Thanks for the heads up. Perhaps I'll also encounter some weird stuff, I don't use tabbed browsing, I'm kinda old fashioned in my surfing habits, what with my advanced years.

you know other people go to jail over this kind of extortion. M$ just keeps getting richer. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yes, well said, my friend! That's one of the many reasons why you and I like our varieties of Unix I do have one windows box that my daughter uses. I don't want to offend anyone running Windows.

He certainly is! Last I heard he was completing a college programming course and of course working on his distro. He is a hard worker indeed.

Right. I've done that with fdisk too. Maybe some of the uber users like iccaros or jcl can help you, figure out what file you've taken out with rm that might have caused this behavior. Is iccaros still around? I haven't been around too much with holidays. It's good to be home.

I haven't used cfdisk I use fdisk when I partition my HD for slackware. With cfdisk were you using that to partition your HD or delete files?

I know you're probably running your Gentoo box behind some kind of firewall. Are you seeing any other indications that you may have been compromised? I used to run an apache server out of my house, but, it got hacked. I ran a web server back when I started using Linux. Good luck, shanenin!! I also hate that feeling that you've been hacked.
