  1. Having a problem with finding that downloaded picture? Having a problem with downloading pictures from a camera or scanner and not being able to locate them? Once you download using programs for picture editing and such, you can't find them. Vista puts them in a virtual folder. (one way around this is to create a folder and place your pictures in it.) When you use an application for which virtualization is enabled, you create data files in virtualizable locations of the file system. When you use another application or Windows Explorer to access these newly created files, you cannot find them.
  2. One of the new security features within Windows Vista that is not visually evident, is file system virtualization. This type of virtualization allows an application to create a virtual file where it can read and write to without compromising the system. (this could also give you "ACCESS DENIED" on some folders, if you un-hide "files and Folders" and then try to open them) OK. Let's say you have an application that attempts to write to your System32. Instead of allowing the application to do so, Vista creates a virtual System32 folder in the user's profile that the application will use. "

  7. Yes. You will need your CD-Key if you do a full repair. (and some command prompt repairs). You can use magicaljellybean.com/keyfinder to find your CD-Key. But remember, doing a repair removes some M$ updates. So you will need to go to the M$ site and redownload them. As for finding Porn on someones PC can get tricky. A handful of States have it in law, that if you find Child Porn on a customers PC while you are repairing or working on it, that you have to report it to them. Not sure if that includes an unlicensed person fixing a friends computer or not. But if you are licensed, then you would

Hit Alt to bring up the menubar if it is not already on the screen. 2. Click on Tools and select Folder Options. 3. On the View Tab, uncheck Automatically search for network printers.
  16. Missing the old File, Edit, View menu bar One of the main concepts of Windows Vista is to make things more simple, basically take some of the complexity out of Windows. The decision was made to do away with the old menu bar in many of the windows of Windows Vista because they simply looked too busy and offered the user too many, often confusing, choices. This all sounds great but we are power users and most of us like complexity because it gives us more control. Thankfully, Microsoft didn't really do away with it completely, they just hid it. The next time you are using Windows Vista and wish t
