  1. That doesn't wash with me. There is not a single recorded death by weed. As a former long time smoker I know from first hand experience it is not addictive. Gee I wish I had one is about as bad as it gets. Why was it outlawed in the firat place? From the link in my first post: Alcohol Prohibition and Federal Approaches to Drug Prohibition During this time, the United States was also dealing with alcohol prohibition, which lasted from 1919 to 1933. Alcohol prohibition was extremely visible and debated at all levels, while drug laws were passed without the general public's knowledge. National al

MS offers 250k reward for worm author. Article Malware hunts for money? Who ever heard of such a thing. 'Conficker continues to infect a large number of computers while security experts try and figure out what to do.' - Microsoft has created a new technology industry posse and a $250,000 reward for people who help turn over the creators of the Conficker worm. The Conficker worm multiplied like wildfire, and spreads through a hole found in Microsoft Windows systems, though the vulnerability was patched in October. It also is able to disable anti-malware protection and will block an infected
  5. If you do a search you can find sites totally dedicated to overclocking. But I agree with bozodog that the best way to increase performence is to increase your hardware specs.
  6. The highs in the teens was getting boring so we were on the top edge of that system and got about 6" new and temps in the 20s. East of me about 10 miles they have around a foot new. Looks like New England is getting it right now.

  13. What is the make of the player and what format are the discs? Since your player will play some and not others I am wondering if it is a format or copyright issue and not a problem with the drive or computer.
  14. Sorry to hear about this guy. I hope you are doing better soon.

  16. Hi, I was having a problem where the system guard on my McAfee suite kept shutting off. Of course it couldn't find anything on a scan so I started running my other stuff. Ad-Aware, Spybot and CCleaner didn't find anything out of the ordinary. But when I ran MWBAM (free) it found this: Registry Data Items Infected: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Control Panel\Homepage (Hijack.Homepage) -> Bad: (1) Good: (0) -> Quarantined and deleted successfully. I was wondering if anyone knows of this and was it smart enoungh to shut off the system guard in the Mc crapp
  17. It may not have been the Ad Aware but just an event that happened when I gave permission for the port to be open. I installed software so I can trade with my cell phone via bluetooth and then got a MS patch for bluetooth network exploits. Haven't had any more pop ups since the patch.
  18. I have continued using it but am now having second thought after what just happened. When I clicked update it generated a system tray pop up ad for an online file storage site.

    Howdy Tyme

Glad to hear you are doing well. But I can't complain about you being absent as you still have more posts here than me.
  20. SP 3 is now a gold release. And it should be installed as all MS critical updates should be. No problem at all for me either.
  21. Yeah, it's in general release. My auto update just told me it was downloaded to install on my home machine. edit: OK I just put it on and defraged and it sure looks and acts like XP to me. Everything I tried works just fine including IE and OE.
  22. Yeah, it's totally strange that something you can find wondering around in the woods sells for 59.95 a pound. But people go totally bonkers over them. shroom hunters To me, a perfect steak has grill marks and a nice brownish color /w the fat a little crisp and blackened. A 1" steak that has browned about a 1/8-1/4" in from both sides and still pink in the middle is perfect. As above and a 5 minute rest on the way to the table is just right to me.
