Ie7 Unavailable On Windows Update
shanenin replied to shanenin's topic in Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista, and XP
As of today, I noticed IE7 is back listed as a priority update. -
that sounds like a very reasonable explanation.

You hear all the time that two anti-virus programs will conflict and cause problems, but I am not so certain about this. Why is it ok to run an anti-virus ans an anti-spyware program together. Most of them are running in real time side by side, without problems. How is this any different, I don't really think it is. Could this be a myth that perpetuated its selfs from the fact that two firewalls running together can cause problems?

Even if it was a fluke, it still feels good :-)

Don't waste your money. Use the money saved by not bringing it to a shop to buy a new board. -

I think we are on a different page. For the last week, IE7 is not available as a critical or non critical update at all. You can only get it by going to the the Microsoft download center. I have done about 7 reloads, and have not had the option to get it though "microsoft update" -
Do any of you guys know why IE7 is unavailable on windows update in either custom or high priority updates? It has been this way for at least a week now.

Office Products Price Difference
shanenin replied to shanenin's topic in Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista, and XP
the reason is it is not licensed for commercial use. -
I have been looking at different versions of office products. the stand alone versions of excel, power point and word listed here, are selling for $197 each. This product, which contains all three programs is just $125. Why would anyone spend $197 for one, when they can get all three for $125?

that looks like a fan connector you jumpered, oops. That would explain your fire. Even though you damaged it, it was probably already bad. Even before you shorted it, I would have placed the highest probability on the mobo as bad. I would still talk to the guy about a refund. -
Traveling riverside blues --Robert Johnson Man I love this guy. Their is something the blues can do to invoke an emotion like no other music can.

Wireless Drivers In Xp Service Pack 2
shanenin replied to shanenin's topic in Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista, and XP
Technically, I used an i386 directory I found on my hardrive. I am certain this came from my xp pro sp2 cd I own. I used this technique to load it. The laptop I had did not contain a working cddrive. edit added// I wonder if somehow that i386 directory was not pure. In theory, maybe i slipstreemed drivers in it and don't remember. I really don't think that is the case. -
I found the most crazy thing today. While reloading a dell laptop, using a generic XP Pro sp2 cd, it has wireless drivers included. It was a Dell true mobile 1150 mini pci wireless card. Over the past 2 years, I have done several reloads/ week and have always had to install wireless drivers. I have never had them included with XP.

It seems like a good way to track down spyware. -
