Well I just found out they lied to me when they said it was the same thing wikopedia I also found out most flux is liquid, they mix it with petroleum jelly for a paste form. Here's some good stuff minute man supply Mark

I remember when they used a infared reflow machine, the boards would travel through sponge rollers coated with flux then through the lights and into a tub of soapy water where they scrubbed them clean. I also remember replacing the stainless wire conveyor belt that would be eaten away by the flux more tan once Mark

At the old plant when they had to touch up plated holes in a board, they used a real small artist paint brush and a liquid flux. When I had to repair a board to a machine, they gave me a tin of paste and said it was the same thing. I still use it today. The brand is Burnley's non-corrosive paste. The ingriedients says it contains zinc chloride. I noticed when the inspectors finished a repaiir they would clean it up with some alcohol, so I do the same thing. The main thing is not to use too much flux, which I always do. using the liquid makes that easier to do.They also used Kester solder and

HAPPY BIRTHDAY Mark

Many years ago, I worked at a circuit board mfg. We never used rosin-core solder, only 63/37 and flux. Another must have tool is a good rheostat controlled soldering iron, with a lot of tips. Besides that, my best friend is a magnified visor Mark

My daughter would kill it in a heartbeat. She's a master "blackthumb" Mark

Router For Satellite Broadband
garmanma replied to irregularjoe's topic in Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista, and XP
A dedicated box just for a home based internet?? If you have an old beater box laying around, why not? They make darn good routers Mark -
Just finished the front flower beds. Most of my projects are put on hold while we get my daughter's new house in order. Got my first grandkid coming so I got to fix up the nursery, fix up some hand me down furniture, hang baby gates, etc. Also have to repair the floor from a leaking dishwasher and remodel the kitchen a little Hoping it doesn't take as long as Irregularjoe's Just kidding Joe Mark

My brother in law works for a material handling outfit and specializes in the electrics. We could get him to zip up youre Rascal a bit. You should see what he did to my elec. golf cart Mark

There's still quite a few there. Some just aren't bothering until things are fixed. As far as the drivel goes, that hasn't changed since G4 took over. It's funny, out of all the similar boards I post on or read, it's the only one where you see all the rude idiots. I think flame wars have gotten better than they used to be, in general Mark

Thirty One People Now Dead From Va. Tech Shooting
garmanma replied to TheTerrorist_75's topic in On The Web
It wasn't until they started showing all the different school shootings that have happened that it jogged my memory. This isn't something that has just started to happened There was that shooting down in Texas during the '60's. They're just arming themselves better. It's sad Mark -
Funny pic, Marty. Reminds me of a NASCAR tv commercial. This guy won a contest and the prize was for him and a friend to ride along in a race car during a race. The guy's yelling what a great time he's having and the driver turns around and tells him "we could go a lot faster if you get your dog out of the window". The camera pans to this big old hound dog wearing goggles, an aviater's cap, with his tounge hanging out, blowing in the breeze. It was priceless Mark

Yeah, a dog that size probably is nothing but a big baby. That's usually the way it goes Mark

Hello Juzeppe. Welcome to BT Mark

Could you imagine the poor guy that would try to break into his house and ran into him in the dark? I sure hope he's house broke Hell, I couldn't even imagine cleaning up after him outside Mark

I was going to say Lake Erie but it's only on one side. I think you could consider my back yard as a lake in springtime though. My neighbor's gets so bad we pump it out. Mark

Interesting stuff. Why didn't I find it interesting back in History and Geography classes I'll never know. Must of been the raging hormones. Born and raised in Ohio and I never knew that one. Looked at the map and Damn, you're right Mark

I do know the best standard shift car I ever had, but not for long, was a '65 Chevy Nova with a 327 shoehorned in it. That thing would smoke 'em. Cops were always trying to catch me, hence why I didn't have it for long. I got in waay to much trouble Mark

Sadly, the first NEW car I bought was an AMC Gremlin (don't laugh) Dayglo green color. I don't know what I was thinking. I remember it cost $1800. for a brand new car Mark

Well, like I said, I'm no video freak. I'll probably just skip the card. My wife could use a flat screen also. Her desk space is limited anyways. I built hers not too long ago, so it has a DVI connection. If I see a big difference, I'll swap cards with hers. She'll never know She hasn't missed her other hard drive yet. I've been meaning to get her used to poking around the forums. Glad I haven't yet Mark

A 1977 cougar wagon. I payed $200 for it. It got me around for about a year and a half with next to no repair work. by the way, you got yourself a beautiful car :-) A Cougar wagon? Mercury? I don't think I've ever seen one of those. Interesting Mark

$100 give or take AGP Allied (4 years old) Whatever easy to read Right now I use 1024 x 768 I'll probably just stay with the old card Mark

Finally figured out my taxes and we're getting back more than expected, so my wife is throwing me a bone for being a good boy. I've been wanting a flat screen monitor for awhile and I chose a Viewsonic 22" wide screen. It has both VGA and DVI outputs and I figured I might as well take advantage of the DVI, so I'll need a new card. I'm not a gamer mostly web surfing, some streaming video and an occasional DVD movie. I figured nothing drastic. I was looking at an ATI radeon 9550, 256mb. My reasoning being it doesn't take a separete plug from the power supply. It's a 400W but of questionable

I see you changed your screen name. Time for a change or did you just create a new account? I still think their best forum layout was back in the TTV days. At least one nice thing at the moment, I haven't seen much drivel posted by Razor and Kev Mark
