First let me say welcome to these boards. Second I am sorry that you are having so much trouble, and I hope someone can help you out. Good luck. The only idea I have is to try to go back on a system restore point to where it was all working right for you. Maybe that would bring it all back to what you had before. God bless everyone.

Sure makes me glad we only have to deal with Mount St Helens (volcano) blowing her top. And the occasional bad windstorm, or winter ice storm. Did have some very mild and rather rare minor tornados this summer mostly in rural areas, but nothing like you guys are talking about. More common in the NW are water spouts, over the rivers in Or., Puget Sound in Wa., or over the ocean. My Dad was raised in Indiana, and told of some hair raising times with tornados. Nope I don't want to be around them. And did I mention I hate lightening storms? I think I am just chicken about going through all that

This angers me so much, that anyone would do such a nasty "game". I think they are only trying to make money on the Kennedy name. I doubt very much they care anything about teaching history!!! I do think they are training assassins. I heard on tv news that the only interactive part of the game is the actual shooting of President JFK. So how is that a game? It is a training tool to assassinate presidents. How sick these people must be to do this. And the people who buy it are no better in my opinion. Here is a cliokable link, done the easy way by right clicking on the url of the site when I had

Happy Birthday Tictoc. May you be blessed with health, happiness, prosperity, and long life. God bless everyone.

I bumped the other thread up, and added a link to this one. So that new people down the line will be able to find both. Thanks to this thread, I went looking for a earlier thread, but didn't find the same one that Snaxe did. I found the one that people gave a thumbnail (written) sketch of themselves. Found out I hadn't gotten around to doing mine, so sidetracked to that for awhile. That would be a good alternate screen name for me, Sidetracked! Anyhow my regular screen name is for my Siamese cat, as she is always nearby, when I am on the computer. Hence, "the sidekick cat", which we nicknam

Maybe we can bump this up and do a connection link to Flash's thread. Similar thread connection God bless everyone.

I sure would like to see chinawht post today, or any day, so we would know she is back with us. A post from her would really make my Thanksgiving complete. We miss you, my friend. As for me, not that much to say. I am 60 years old, married to my dear hubby for 34 years. He works for Intel. I am a homemaker. I, too, have gone through some hard times in my life. The Lord healed me of fibromyalgia in 1997 at a Benny Hinn crusade in Seattle. Had it for 23 years. Plus I (hubby too to lesser extent) suffer from an old car accident injury to back and neck. We are waiting on God to be healed of that a

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. Oh the many things that we have to be Thankful for! It would take many hours to make a list of them and still we would forget things. We are all so blessed. Praise God from whom all blessings flow! God bless everyone.

I've Done It Now...
thesidekickcat replied to jammerbirdi's topic in Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista, and XP
I am so glad you got it to work for you!!!! Congratulations! In nearly 3 years with Win 2000, I have only had one crash. And that was after a Windows update last Spring. Scared me! But a reboot fixed it. Still I would rather not repeat it ever. Ha Ha! God bless everyone. -
How To Change My Name In Documents And Settings?
thesidekickcat replied to LiXindi's topic in Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista, and XP
I am sorry that I don't have the answer for you, but did want to welcome you to these boards. Glad to have new members here. I hope you will enjoy the boards. I am sorry that someone you know has died. It is always so hard to lose someone. God bless everyone. -

I really like my Windows 2000, and do not want an XP system ever. So I agree with you on that. XP sounds like nothing but trouble from all I see on the boards. My hubby has it at work but says 2000 was better. I hope you can get the old drive to do what you want. Good luck. God bless everyone. -
Here is some more info, from the Symantec Security Response Site. It is the newest bunch of junk out to try to destroy our computers, that they have given us protection against. Click on the individual item for more info. It is rated a 3 for risk, on a scale of 1 - 5, I think. They have a removal tool thankfully, if you get caught with it. Symantec Security Response Check often for updates and stay safe folks. God bless everyone.

Sorry for the double post folks, somehow while I was writing the main one out and checked in preview for mistakes, I got a flood control error. My first one, anyhow didn't know it posted too. Wierd. So my main post is below. God bless everyone.

Hi Grady, My you sure like to live dangerously! I like to stay out of danger myself. Portland, Or. had a program a few years ago that trained neighborhood volunteer responders for all sorts of emergency events. Don't know if the program is still around or not. Anyhow maybe your city or county has something similar. You might contact your non-emergency police line or city/county government to see if they have something for you. Or the Red Cross might be the place since they usually are in the thick of things. God bless everyone.

Thanks for the warning. So that is why Norton had such a big antivirus update again today! 378.3KB. Here is the Symantec list of the latest threats. Yikes! Stay safe folks! Symantec Security Response site God bless everyone.

For those with Norton antivirus, there was another large update today. 378.3KB. Check often manually for updates and be protected faster than automatic. And sometimes automatic doesn't have all the updates. Stay safe folks. God bless everyone.

I pray over the safety of this computer and for everything to work right on it, every time I turn it on, besides the above steps. After all, I consider it a gift from God, since we never planned on having a computer. But my hubby works for Intel, and about 4 years ago they started a program to give all employees new computers. Even paid the income tax for all of it. So it was totally free and unexpected. We got ours towards the end of the offer, so got an even nicer upgraded setup than earlier people. So I figure it was all a blessing from God. P.S. Besides praying for the computer safety, I

My goodness Shadow, can't you stay out of trouble? Wouldn't want to give our board a bad name now would you? Just kidding my friend. I am so glad you survived the brake failure. That is so scary!!! Sounds like you need to get a thorough checkup on that car, before anything else fails. What did your father-in-law say to you later after the cop incident? P.S. Don't be surprised if your insurance rates go up due to the ticket, or worse yet get cancelled. That is what happens in this state after tickets. But I would sure contest the ticket, assuming it was for improperly maintained equipment o

I don't know if this is the problem, but there was a thread a couple of days ago on G4 about some trojan that causes this. The alert was given due to the number of recent BS of D threads lately over there. Here is a link to the G4 thread which has a Symantec link for the trojan information. G4 trojan alert for BS of D I sure hope your problem can be solved easily and soon. And for everyone I remind you to check often for all antivirus, firewall, and other updates. There was another large Norton one today. Check manually, the sooner protected the better. Also not all updates come through autom -
I just found that thread, and came over to post about her too. She and her family sure need our prayers folks! God bless everyone.

Help! Lol... I Messed Up My Registry!
thesidekickcat replied to TymeKyller's topic in Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista, and XP
I wonder if the reason behind the problem is someone we all know just has to much Tyme on his hands? Sorry, couldn't resist that one! God bless everyone. -
I have been wondering how she is doing, too. I haven't seen any posts from her over at G4 either. I hope that means she is just not having any computer problems, or is really busy, rather than anything more serious! God bless everyone.

Norton Updates For 2004 Turning Things Off
thesidekickcat replied to thesidekickcat's topic in Security Alerts
Pete had an additional clarification, (on the G4 thread listed above), of what we can do with this Norton thing if it continues to give us trouble.
