  1. Happy Birthday Rhema!!! May you be blessed with a long life filled with good health, happiness, and prosperity!!! Pat. God bless everyone.
  2. Then if ignoring the trolls doesn't work, we can go searching for that thread of troll recipes. I bet Mac can put those to use in the Cafe. P.S. I am more concerned with some of the non-family friendly off-color lanquage coming over from G4. I've already seen a bit of it and sure hope it doesn't continue. Pat. God bless everyone.
  3. Almost as if you were losing weight while snacking here at BT Cafe'. I hit a snag guys. My girl and I are having a disagreement on the placement of our cars in the garage and the driveway. She wants to park her car in the garage, but i want to put a pool table, wall hanging TV, a big Rack Mount Fridge (vending type, given to me by a buddy that works for Pepsi), and some other toys i can throw in there so she can have the house while my friends are over and not bother her...but she says i can use the spare bedroom to put all the stuff but the table and just not get one...Now I have a cover
  4. Hey hey Sidekick! It has been a long time! Well ,I'll still be skiing down some hill or on one of those tabogans (spell check big time) if that's still the image you have (if I recall correct) but I'll try and write a note, like, "Away" or something ..good to see familiar faces and the welcomes (extra thumbs up) ..so where's this Cyber Cafe again? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yes that was my mind's eye view of you, on a tobaggon (sp?) racing down a specially made tobaggon ice chute at something like the Winter Olympics. Seems I was a bit wrong with the image? You have a good memory
  5. I too am a refugee, and appreciate the enviroment around here. There it seems that you can't post anything without having somebody saying something negative. I've been lurking around here all day, checking old threads and reading every post through;and yet have not found anything rude, insulting, or negative in anyway. And to sum up this, expect to see alot of me around here(behaving my best, of course). <{POST_SNAPBACK}> What a nice compliment to all of us. Thank You for noticing that we try to get along here, and I think succeed pretty well. If we do have disagreements, we try to
  6. I hope he is improving after that heart attack. I saw him do an update, that he was at his mother's and doing cardiac physical therapy, but that may have been about last I was over there until the other night. I am also wondering how marsh-Ox is, he was in real bad shape in VA hospital for a long time, but then saw him posting a bit late spring/early summer. I tried a search for him yesterday, but it didn't show any results. Tried searching my screen name too, and it didn't show me either. Plus what's with the G4 boards not letting you log out???? Anyhow I would like an update on marsh if anyo
  7. Long time no see my friend. Sure have missed you!!! We'll be glad to have you and your poems at the cafe. Lots of musicians around to even set them to music maybe. How has life been treating you, other than the recent G4 blues bug? That was a mighty fast spreading virus and a nasty one at that. So for everyone that has been hit by it, this is a good place to recuperate. Lots of caring folks here. Just don't go MIA on them or they send out search parties! Enjoy the best boards around. Pat. God bless everyone.
  8. I want to add my welcome to all of the G4 refugees too. But what took you so long to get here??? jk. Glad you are here now!!! Enjoy the peace and quiet here compared to the G$ storms. Pat. God bless everyone.
  9. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> What kind of naive gullible idiots does D think people are? Call For Help has always been in the plan....sure folks!!!... and there must be plenty of swamp land and broken down bridges to sell too. And he thinks we are dumb enough to believe this? Yeah right!!! "it's just a "whoops, forgot to type that part" kind of deal." That guy is sure shoveling something smelly out in the barnyard!!! Anyone who has watched the debacle that G$ made of TTV and our CFH and SS shows, and their corresponding boards, should know he's full of hot air or something. If they had any plans
  10. Welcome folks. Enjoy the peace and quiet here after the G$ storms. God bless everyone.
  11. Chappy, Thanks for doing your best to notify people of the truth of G4's evil plans. Gave people time to say goodbye, and to send friends messages or post links to other boards. Pete's thread allowing people to post their new board homes was helpful too. And he specifically mentioned Besttechie, as did others. I have spent two or three hours over there reading threads pertaining to this latest G4 shipwreck, after seeing B's thread here welcoming new members. I thought what's up with that, then went over to see for myself. I hadn't been over there for months until last night to check for
  12. My question is what started them doing it in the first place? They are interesting though, funny too. God bless everyone.
  13. Thanks for mentioning the Norton stuff, to leave it the way it is, I did think about changing it then remembered that it is best to let Norton do what Norton wants to keep it running happily. Thanks for reinforcing that idea by reminding me to leave Norton setup as they set it. As for me trying to explain things, oh my it has been such a strange time for me with all these computer problems going on, and not even knowing what to put on the boards as a question about it. Your link to that update info got me to thinking about this in the night last night. I think it is good that I'm finally down
  14. I hate hot and humid weather, thankfully it usually isn't to bad here for humidity. About 90 today, did alot of running around doing errands etc. Main thing is I got my ears washed out at Kaiser today, sure nice to be able to hear again. All those crying jags I did over the computer problems, and other stuff, made sinuses swell, eustachion tubes got into the act too so lately had ear aches, and add in some allergies and alot of ear wax, well it is a wonder I could even hear myself think. (maybe that is why I have been so nutty and sidetracked more than usual...couldn't hear myself think!!! )
  15. I saw this the other day and was going to comment on it but forgot. You probably already know how to do this, but just in case not, here is a method that relatives, neighbors, and I have used over the years to reclaim sections of yard for more garden space. It is the easiest way I know versus the old double digging way or tilling which just churns up concrete like chunks of the clay that passes as soil here. Anyhow the way to do it is to sheet compost it. First apply your cornstarch preemergent weed suppressant (I use WOW from Gardens Alive), water it in. Then put multiple overlapping alterna
  16. Yep that is a good term for my cat, besides bossy, alarm cat! She is a Siamese mix, so maybe it is the elite dna that has her thinking everyone should do what she says when she says it. Actually she doesn't have the Siamese voice (the first one we had sure was a talker though), but her body language does the job. Today she was trying to get me to come get on the computer, but I was reading the paper, and with air conditioner on hadn't planned to do it anyhow. But she kept pacing instead of taking her nap, and finally hubby said she wants you on the computer, well I came in here and she settled
  17. I totally agree the car manufacturers have a big share of blame in this mess. You are right on that cycle, I hadn't thought it out in full. And they all are to short sighted to see what to do down the road long term, they could have solved this a long time ago, or at least been a lot closer to solving it. But since they stalled out on doing their job to make more efficient cars (because they couldn't get enough r+d tax credits from government or whatever other free ride they wanted), the spineless politicians should have way upped the mpg fuel average and closed off the loopholes for trucks,
  18. Yes Liz, sorry about the sidetracking of your thread. But it sure turned out helpful, even in more ways than you planed I bet. Thanks Barb for your Microsoft link, read it today. Interesting. Thanks to you for getting me to look harder for where the thing was hiding on my computer. Between me forgetting where I had seen it before, and it moving to near the bottom of column (when it did the new updater or when I did the updates to the updater the other day) instead of being in alphabetical order in that list so had trouble finding it before you got me started on it. I now know I have mine set t
  19. Yikes!!! Chappy, Yikes!!! How come Canadian gas is so much higher than it is in US? Am I thinking right that at exchange rate, though I don't know current rate, of last I heard it was around 70 cents to our buck, that would mean it is even higher cost with your translating the conversion of litre to gallon at $4.54 Canadian...So that would be Canadian $ right? So is my math wrong, or is it even higher when converted to U.S $??? Help me out here folks, I am terrible at math and thought problems!!! I really think this whole gas price thing from the barrel cost, to the pump cost, is driven by fe
  20. Thank you very much Barb, will read it later. Cat's medicine overdue, so had better get off the computer and give it to her. Tomorrow to be mid 90's so may not be on the computer at all. So see you all later. Good night to you and everyone. Pat. God bless everyone.
  21. Oh my goodness, I just found this lovely BD thread to me, as I am still playing catchup on all I missed while I was gone. Thankyou folks so very much, now here I go crying happy tears again. I love you all. Sorry it took so long for me to find this and say thanks for thinking of me on my BD. love from Pat. God bless everyone.
  22. Oh the many things that can take over a yard and garden, not only weeds but all sorts of good stuff. Like sun-chokes (Jerusalem artichokes) that I planted and that spread to my neighbor's yard one year, or her mint that spread to mine the year or two before, or periwinkle so pretty and pretty hard to get rid of along with ivy, or laurel hedges, or fill in the blanks folks of what you have fought to get rid of that was nice to start with, but turned into a yearly backache to remove. Also just the traveling stuff, like the daffodil clump in the middle of one row of raspberries. Have dug it out r
  23. Thanks so much Barb for telling me where to look. Unfortunately my 2000 has to be different, so it didn't have an auto update tab. So I thought maybe right clicking on the Windows Update listed in Start menu, and checking properties might find it but it wasn't there either. So then I was determined to find it, so looked in settings, my control panel, then scheduled tasks, nope only two Norton things the scan and net detect whatever that is. So saw automatic updates further down, it wasn't listed alphabetically but a right click and sort by name fixed that, and back to auto updates and lo and b
  24. Chappy that sounds interesting. Yes one of the worries about doing a reinstall for me is the update thing. My Windows 2000 has about 4 service packs, and now this new 'roundup' one, plus various and sundry other things. With all the computer h..l this thing has been doing lately, I figured I'd end up doing a reinstall sooner or later, or throwing it out the window!!! Have been eyeballing the Sunday ads too though don't really want a new one if I can just get this one to not freeze/crash when isp knocks me off. Though got knocked off a few minutes ago, and Praise God it didn't freeze up. WoW!
