I dont understand it either. HJT training takes forever and helping someone with their HJT log take research. Someone is saving you possibly hundreds of dollars by your not having to take your PC to a pro and you dont say thank you?!

I dont understand most of this thread, so you shouldn't feel too dumb.

Be carefull buying new printers (instead of new ink). Alot (if not all) come with alot less ink than you get my buying refills. Good idea Mike

Check engine light, %80 effeciency, leaking oil... **runs out a does a group hug with his Fords** Hah, really though. Drive carefull. That $40 wont go far if the roads are icy and a tree jumps in front off you.

I dont have a need for that much storage capacity at the moment. Plus I cant imagine how much that thing is going to cost That's neat though. Im sure we will all have to switch over to blue ray eventually. -

LoL. Bitter? Even the cheap-o $300 Dell and Compaq Walmart bargin bin specials meet the Vista requirements in every way except for ram. Spend another $50 on ram and you're set. Besides, in another few years when Vista starts to out number XP I find it hard to imagine that the bargin-bin PCs won't meet Vista requirements.
-
The system requirements dont seem bad to me. A 1 gig CPU, 512 - 1 gig of ram, and direct X 9. Other than the ram requirements, that's not terribly expensive. However, as long as I can surf they net and use Open Office Ill stick with XP

That's one reason I dont play online mulitiplayer games any more. (#2 being they can consume your life fairly easy) People generally seem to be idiots... Its like they go straight from Walmart to playing online -

Most, if not all the independant oil filter tests Ive seen ranked Fram (which also makes Penzoil filters) lowest every time. Some say, flat out, just dont use them. They mention reasons such as cheap workmanship, leaky anti drainback valves and other things. So, since Fram alternatives are the same price but better, I usually say stay away from them.

Wow. This is a whopper of a storm system. We are getting a little ice but nothing like that. Atleast this is the last day. Well for us anyway. We sould be back above freezing tomorow. Maybe you should wait for another day to go get the monthlies

It has a 4.9L EFI I-6 Engine with 109,816 miles on it.Over the years I had a bunch of offers to buy, when I was ready to rid of it. Nice engine. Good power but still gets good milage. Royal Purple is a waste of money (IMO). Ive got a a jug of Mobil 1 waiting to put in my Focus, but Ill probably never use it again. Motor craft oil and filter = high quality oil change for $13.

Congrats on your new purchase! It sounds like a whopper. 1) Uninstall what you dont want. 2) Unless Norton is tied in with other HP crap it should be as simple as uninstalling under "add/remove programs". Im not familar with HPs, so you might let someone with an HP answer also. 3) Media center is the same as XP with a few more features. Honestly, unless your PC is hooked up to your TV or something like that, youll probably never have a need for it's features. 4) Dont the newer HPs have some sort of "HP Control Panel" running that automaticaly updates your computer's drivers? At the least im su

Gas is a comfy $2 even here. No complaints from me.

Haha, no, no offroad racing for this old truck. The auto trans mught have to go anyhow. hehe OOOooo. Pretty. What engine does it have? Thanks for the compliments guys. This was the 3rd vehicle I looked at that day. The first was a 01' Ranger that i had seen on autotrader. They only wanted $1800 for it. Turns out they "forgot" to mention the interior was like a toasted marshmellow. When i took this truck for a test drive the damn thing broke down. I had to walk back to the dealership in the sleet and freezing rain. Apperntly the staff isnt too good at keeping gas in the vehicles. Ha! Oh
