thanks mikex yes that did it i used a flat butter knife and pushed it in under the floppy and i heard a click and the floppy came out so the knife must have tripped some thing to make it come out as ime not a user of laptops i appreciate the tip marty

bad ram or unformatted hdd will also abort the power up ive had this happen to me marty

a lady friend is having lap top problems the floppy cannot be removed from the carriage drive. i have a feeling the floppy is the wrong size for the drive on this laptop the drive can be removed any one had this trouble if so how do i fix it thanks marty
