hi bill and liz well ive installed spywareblaster and it fits my sys ok i notice spyware blater in bills sig if bill uses it then it must have some merit ive read the info on the blaster and it is what i want thanks guys appreciated marty

hi me again is there an alternate program to ad-aware other than spybot in the past ive had many troubles with spybot once i had to restor because of it some one recommended spyware blaster and on the spybot website they recommend spyware blaster input will be welcomed marty

any one having trouble with ad-aware my sys keeps freezing and stopping and this has only happened since i installed ad-aware i notice there is a method to scan files and folders with ada=ware by right clicking and i feel this is the problem i installed it on two machines and i get the same result on both am i imagining things or has some one else struck this same problem marty

hi jd ive just bought an external hdd case my compt has only one facility for a hdd and this was the only i could dual boot windows and ubuntu 8.10 it can run on a usb plug or a sata connection my Q how does a sata connection operate ime new to it in this format and is usb more convienient than sata and a better option marty

i have this win98se up and running and through bill mallensons site i have all the up dates installed but my QUESTION IS A FIRE WALL does win 98se need a specific fire wall or can i go to the net and download one or can i incorperate windows fire wall to win 98 se ive learned a few things with this sys thanks marty

thanks bill for that link i now have all the win98se updates on this compt once i downloaded them from your link i went to win updates and they were listed there so i installed the lot hope JD has some success with them this compt wont install ubuntu so 98 is the next best thing so thanks again bill your a bloody beauty marty

back in the old days i used to install trend micro scanner and firewall combo but that is a long time ago i presume that is all pro these days thanks for the advice i emailed microsoft and they dont support the sys any more a friend gave me the disk to test out and with every ones help ive got it going i wont persever with it as i have a machine with vista and one with xp dual boot with ubutnu bit this was a lesson for me thanks all for your input much appreciated marty

grub error i know how to fix it to get back to windows but once i change the mbr i cant get back to ubuntu marty

i had the same problem when i posted some one suggested i put the pin and the ide ribbon in the master [end of the ide ribbon] and the on the slave the pin on the slave position\ and the slave in the middle of the ide ribbon marty

ok i solved the problem the original card came with a driver cd but i changed the card to suit win xp and vista now with win 98 i had to reinstall the other card and when i put the cd in the rom it instantly installed the driver to this card old age makes me forget i had changed the card ime online now with 98 and with cable it is lightening fast i struck a coupla problems which i hope some one can help me every now and then a message says microsoft has struck a problem and will have to shut windows which has happened a coupla times i remember in the old days chappie and pete had a fix f

ok i tried the floppy thing but the sys says there isnt enough room on a floppy is there some way round this i had trouble installing it on this machine as it would only go so far how ever i found i had an incompatable stick of ram once i pulled the stick out all was sweet so that is a lesson for me the sys has found most drivers by putting the 98se disk in the cd rom but the realtek cable connection is the problem win 98se has installed the drivers but it dosent work thats the advantage with xp and vista those drivers come auto matic as long as the card is in the slot but it has been a

some months ago i applied for two open source cds from a local branch when the disks arrived included was a demo disk from sunmicro at the time i didnt have enough resources on the compt so i forgot about it until i read this article now i have the resources i though i might try it i thought the label opensource look familiar i tried red hat a few years ago but beeing new to linux my head couldnt keep up with sys so i gave it up i still have those disks ok read this link on someone comparing the association between the two any one trie sun micro open source marty http://news.cnet.com/
