Brian, in my opinion you do not have to DISABLE MS Security Essentils, it seems to work well with Avast & i have had both on my W7 and W8.1 with no problems what so ever. And i have recommended both to others during my Malware fighting ! MBAM Premium is a super Antivirus, i have used Avast for years with no problems & have never been infected ! I just don't like paying for anything when i can get it free ! I recommend it to all users that i help but i also think it is up to the individual which they want for their specific needs. Brian, make sure you only run 1 Antivirus at a time. It's ok to have more than 1 installed just not running ! If i read your post right, it says you got MBAM premium which is 1 and Avast ..... that's 2 ! Chuck Congrats on new rig !!

Windows 8.1 forum is way behind, i get more info from Bleeping computer !! I have W8.1 on 2 computers & W7 on my virutal computer for testing virus and such ! Calio, you are clean !! Clean up with OTL Right-click OTL.exe and select " Run as administrator " to run it. This will remove all the tools we used to clean your pc. Close all other programs apart from OTL as this step will require a reboot On the OTL main screen, press the CleanUp! button Say Yes to the prompt and then allow the program to reboot your computer. Warning This fix is only relevant for this system and no other, using on another computer may cause problems. Try deleting the OTL you have and download a new OTL ! I also need a new AdwCleeaner log, this time after it scans click the "DELETE" button !! To sum things up i need: 1. New AdwCleaner log 2. OTL log Thanks Chuck

Cali, you missed this part of the Adwcleaner . we need to remove everything AdwCleaner found so if it is still open or you will have to run it again & this time after it does the scan it will give you the option to "DELETE".... Callie, as i thought we have a bunch of work still to do from reading the logs ! So lets get started. 1. On the very first program AdwCleaner it shows you only ran the "scan" so i need you to go back & re-run it. There are 2 parts to do, one is to run then it will give you the option to "clean" I need you to do that so it cleans. It will stop after the "Scan" then click the tab that says "DELETE" and let it do it's thing !! 2. Next i still need the Malwarebytes log from running the program above, also the DDS log !!!
