on the old 3.1 they didn't generally use the shortcut likes they do on XP. on 95 they had just started working with the shourtcut systems like XP so a lot of the programs still worked like 3.1 on windows. the shortcut PIF was associated with the exe more directly then the Icons on xp are now.

Genrally speaking the speakers for your computer sound system shouldn't cause that. They don't produce enough magnetic discharge to cause problems with monitors. I had a similar situation with one of my monitors. It turned out to be the Flyback Transformer had gone bad. in my case it was cheaper to buy a new monitor then replace the part.

Hi and welcome to Besttechie. It sounds like you need to check to make sure your cables are securely attached. it almost sounds like one of your IDE cables are not secure. when it comes to changing the PS did you use the new power cable that came with it or the original power cable you had? if it is the original power cable you had then it might be a short in that.

well there is a few issues here so lets get them cleaned up. using Hijack this put a check next to the following entries. Then making sure all windows and browsers, including this one, are closed click on fix selected. Pc Froze, Now Firefox Won't Connect
Dragon replied to Bubba Bob's topic in Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista, and XP
glad you got it sorted out. even though codestuff starter stopped it, it couldn't remove the registry entry for vsmon.exe to not run. It's a safety protocol put in place by ZoneLabs to prevent complete shutdown of the service by a malicious code. -
don't forget, in case of needing a 911 call, until things are completely ironed out, you still need a standard landline or cell with service. There was a big lawsuit against vonage because someone couldn't call 911 when their house was on fire. And there was another case where a lady was almost killed by a robber because she didn't have 911 available with it.

can you post full HJT log, there might be something in there that can help figure out whats going on. Also to get rid of the ZA entry, navigate to C:\Windows\System32 and delete vsmon.exe -

Use a CSS file instead of tables. you can set up the layer to be different specs compared to the main content.

yes yes it was 16X16 8bit RGB. I didnt' use a program to make it. I got it at a website connected to one of my html editors. All I did was upload the image the program did the rest. My favicon was working up until I changed the design on my site using a new .CSS file.

remember this is only my first time using this program, I'm sure i will get better at it as I practice with it. This was rendered at 1024x768.

I currently have the code pulled from the html files, but even when it was in the code I couldn't get my favicon to load up in the address bars, any one have any ideas as to what could be causing this? Thanks

i wouldn't put the biz license on the site. Someone could take that info and really screw your business up. After being in business for six months you can register with the BBB as long as you meet the other aspects of membership. There is also a fee incurred on this, which is an even better reason to wait the 6 months. Better Business Bureau membership page. This will give you all the info you need so you can work at getting a membership.

before everyone starts over-reacting please read this about the worm this making mention of. btw, The article in the link above does not deal with this worm. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060131/ap_on_hi_te/worm_warning Also, as long as the AV program on the computer is up to date, this worm will not affect the system. This worm was discovered on Jan. 20, 2006 and all AV vendors included it in their updates since. There is a removal tool at the following link. f-secure

Ubuntu only uses 1.8gig for a full install, but with a 3gig hdd, that won't leave you much room to really test the system out

The only concern I would have with Vista© going on a mac would be the system requirements. would the new macs with Intel© chips actually meet the hardware requirements? spcifically the ram, cpu speeds, and graphics.
-
DSL should work also, it has low ram requirements. I run it on my 486dx with 64mb of ram and it's almost as fast as my Ubuntu install on this machine.
