  1. Yes, but people have to remember there's one rule that will always overpower "dont be evil" and that rule is "don't be illegal." I guess we'll have to see just what Micrsoft can produce. Like said before, how do you beat Google? Who/What determines if a search engine gives better results? The pressure's on MS.
  2. I'll believe it when I see it. Not only is it going to be hard to top something like Google, but it would take something AMAZING to swing people away from Google. And some people, like myself, wouldn't leave Google anyway, because unlike M$, they like to be "not evil". Matt
  3. Holy $#%@ing $%@! dave! You freaking scared the crap out of me!!! Don't you have more important things to do than mess with our minds LOL anyhow, good to see youre NOT leaving! Matt

Enable show hidden files and folders: * Click Start. * Open My Computer. * Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options. * Select the View Tab. * Under the Hidden files and folders heading select Show hidden files and folders. * Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option. * Click Yes to confirm. * Click OK Please then continue with the fix

You could come into the chat and see if an admin or mod there can help you. If youd like to try this and you don't have much irc experience, use the chat link on these forums. when it loads, type /join #geekstogo and hit enter. That will get you to the geekstogo chat. Hope it works out soon

    Batch Help

I know this can be done, but everything I've tried, the batch keeps executing before any input can be given. I'm looking for a way, using batch, to prompt the user to input a file path, it stores that filepath into a variable, and then deletes the file entered. Any ideas on how to make this work, or can this not be done in stictly batch? Thanks, Matt

  14. Close Firefox Navigate to C:\Documents and Settings\User Name\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\xxxx.default\ (xxx represent randome characters. There should be a folder called 'bookmarkbackups'. In there should be some HTML files. Copy the newest one back into your default folder, and name it bookmarks.html (removing the date). Restart Firefox and see if they are back. Matt

  16. Moving to OC. This doesn't exactly classify as a "Security Alert". Brandon, if this is your site, I'm giving this the OK to post, as it seems to be of good intent, and people seem to have an interest in it. Just remember, excessive spam is against forum policies.
  17. NOD32 is probably the best anti-virus software you can get. It has fantastic update time, great heuristic scanning, and its database surpasses that of most all other tools.

    Need A Mod?

Hi Tony, welcome to BT! I wish you best of luck with your search to become a Moderator at a forum. I haven't really gotten to know you yet, but if you abide by the values you state, I'm sure someone would be interested in having you on their ream. But don't get discouraged if you don't can any offers. Like you said, becoming a Staff Member of a forum is a matter of trust. Most boards take members who have been there a very long time, they know well enough personally to trust them to enforce rules fairly, and (in the event of an 'Expert' type of position) have shown a well knowledge base on
  21. IEHD, there's one thing I need to know before this thread should be continued. Do you have two legit XP discs and two legit CD keys? There still seems to be some confusion on this matter, at least for me.
