Hey guys (and gals), I'm just wondering what everyone thinks of the Xbox 360? I've been debating getting one for the last few days (499$ CAD for the console and one game but obviously i'd have to buy another wireless controller and maybe even a game. Then there's that pesky tax.) I don't think i'd be getting away for less than 700$ or so which does hurt the wallet since I don't exactly make a huge amount of money as a student. I'm not wanting to wait for the Wii or the PS3 cause the only thing that appeals to me on the Wii is Zelda however that can wait for now. The PS3, well I currently have

Thanks for posting that. It was an awesome avatar, I remember it from the G4TTV boards.

I remember il_wiccan from the TTV boards. He he was the first one to jump in and help along with Pete with my malware problem. It's what kept me coming back to the boards and lending a helping hand myself. It is sad news to know this...

Thanks everybody!! I just got home from work...I know, I know but couldn't be avoided not that it was bad haha. Turning out to be a great day so far, and i'm getting together with people (some who I haven't seen in a while) tonight. Thanks for all the great wishes

I keep my 1990 Civic going with junkyard parts and careful maintenence. It didn't even have any rust on it after I replaced what little was there with fibreglass (fairly inexpensive if you do it yourself). I did the same thing with my father's Civic however, he has since upgraded to a newer and much nicer 1999 model car which doesn't exactly lend itself to junkyard browsing for parts and all the big stuff needs to be done at the dealer

where i can find that? Look like Final Fantasy 7 and 8 failed to be working because it required DX.... aready isntalled DX on CrossOver, but my sound card..... is not DX. so oh well The new NeoOffice beta includes the Aqua interface and runs natively.

Do People Drive The Speed Limit Where You Live?
marko_tomas13 replied to dBTelos's topic in Open Chat
Some people seem to have a problem with the whole "on-ramp" theory. Getting up to merging speed just makes too much sense. Big difference between northern and southern drivers. Southerners do not know how to merge. It pisses me off so much when people hit their friggen brakes right in front of me on the on ramp!!!! simple solution.... ram them and say it their fault for slamming on the brake in the last min. and try to make it look like it their fault Impossible at least here in Canada. Whenever you rear end someone it is automatically at least 50% your fault here, usually more no matte -
Congrats on the Mac! I also got a MBP except it was about 4 months ago. It is my first Mac and I absolutely love it. Personally, I was on a budget and ended up going with Open Office just because of the cost Glad you're loving your MBP too.

Do People Drive The Speed Limit Where You Live?
marko_tomas13 replied to dBTelos's topic in Open Chat
No way, here in Toronto it is a consistant 10 km/h over in the city no matter what the posted speed limit is. The highway however the limit is 100 km/h and if you're not driving around 120 km/h you're going too slow for even the middle lanes, much less the far left. -
I'm starting university in September. My first classes are on September 11th (Monday) and the week before that is frosh. I'm amazingly looking forward to it even though my schedule is packed beyond belief

Happy Birthday to you both!!! Have a great day, and many more birthdays to come

I just purchased a 19' widescreen Samsung LCD for my father and set it up. With his Radeon 9200 SE it worked flawlessly right out of the box at its 1440x900 native resolution. Usually, if it doesn't offer the resolution, video card driver updates are in order as is installing the monitor drivers. He is loving the widescreen for browsing and work.

Never seen this before. I still think a regular strip would be better. I personally love the track days where you can bring your own car and pay a fee; laps all afternoon. I try to get out to those as often as i can.

Problems With Linksys Router And Torrenting
marko_tomas13 replied to Sir_Siddy's topic in Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista, and XP
You may need to call the number MrBill provided above but i'm just wondering if you have forwarded ports under "Applications & Gaming" in the setup page for the Bittorrent client you are using and the computer you're using it on? -
Good luck. Last weekend I took a 700km trip and it was quite fun. I just don't know if you'll survive without a connection

For what reason?

Those are awesome! I've actually been pulled over so the officer could examine the new rims I put on the car haha. Turns out he was a friend of my uncles. Gave me a huge scare at the time though.

Well, I took the plunge and installed the update on my Macbook Pro. Just to be safe I didn't use the Software Updater rather I downloaded the full version from the Apple Support Downloads site. Went flawlessly. Nothing has really changed other than the trackpad supports right clicking when 2 fingers are on the trackpad. Useful feature that is immediately noticable as long as you enable it in the settings.

Haha, amazing. I'm passing this on to a few friends of mine who love beer as well as my dad of course. Thanks

Agreed. One of my favourite sports as well as one I play competitively in.

Woah, Intel Mac users hold on. The Software Update on your Mac will give you a 64.9MB update to download. The Apple update site however states the PPC update is 65MB while the Intel update is slated at 131MB. I think i'll wait a few days to see how it pans out on the Discussion boards at Apple because it seems some poeple have installed the PPC update on Intel machines and that has caused all kinds of havoc. I'm unsure which one to take so i'll play the waiting game for now haha.
-
Thanks, I hadn't even noticed. Anyone know what exactly the update includes?

Ahh just did it the old fashioned way through manual e-mail Haha, guess i'll have to keep this new feature in mind for next time I have someone to spread the word to. Thanks B.
