Newer cars are SO much better than they were in the 70's and 80's. Your Audi probably hasn't aged much, and that Jetta will still be in terrific shape eight years from now. When I bought my Explorer it was five years old and there wasn't much to distinguish it from brand new. You're completely right, if you take care of cars they can run for much longer than they used to be able to, its good to see especially for people like me who like driving an older car and knowing all the ins and outs.

Thanks for the afternoon laugh, it did come with rear window defrosters surprisingly haha. I didn't have many problems with the car but my cousin was a mechanic and it was well maintained although I have heard horror stories. A few of my relatives still drive them back in the "old country" haha. The Audi is 8 years old very soon but it runs and still looks like a champ. As for the Jetta, I don't think they market the Wolfsburg here in Canada or at least it wasn't available when I was looking; the 2.5 definitely wasn't available in a turbo version.

My first car was a Yugo as I was born and living in Yugoslavija at the time. I guess most here are familiar with how great that car was Later it was a Volvo 240DL, a beast and it'd probably still be alive today if a semi hadn't run it over in a parking lot, I then upgraded to a 1990 Honda Civic LX and only last year replaced it with a 1999 Audi A6. I was actually considering buying that exact same Jetta that B now owns before going for the older Audi and its a great car, congrats on the purchase. EDIT: I see the pics now your Jetta is a 2.5, that's the 5 cylinder inline engine right? Was the

Sit down....ever taken a polygraph? Haha truly a great movie moment.

This one made me laugh because I have actually done something similar. Rule Seven: As you stand in my front hallway, waiting for my daughter to appear, and more than an hour goes by, do not sigh and fidget. If you want to be on time for the movie, you should not be dating. My daughter is putting on her makeup, a process that can take longer than painting the Golden Gate Bridge. Instead of just standing there, why don't you do something useful, like change the oil in my car? I changed the oil in my girlfriends parents cars just as a favour haha

Too bad that seemed to fall through mighty quick. You were really excited as I would be.

Ahh, I am a lover of all things seafood any kind of fish/lobster/crab is all good with me. Sushi I have tried a few times but anytime I eat it it doesn't taste all that bad (fairly bland actually) however afterwards I still feel like I have to go eat something heavier. I also am not a big fan of sticky rice but sushi on occasion isn't bad. I'll have to find a good sushi place near me to go try out and give it a real chance.

Thanks for the impressions everyone. I think i've made up my mind with the LG Chocolate. Will probably be buying it in the next few days

Looks great, I didn't see it earlier in the day; then I cleared my cache and it shows up, great work!

Thanks for the reply. I'm going to go try out a few phones today. The Chocolate is winning for me so far just because the reception is the same on both in my area but the one thing I can't stand is a slow GUI.

I'm in the market for a new cell phone. I currently have a Sony Ericsson z520 but it is starting to die on me. It has been a great phone for the 2 years now that i've had it and i've been happy with it. http://fido.ca/portal/product/product.do Those are the phones available through my provider currently. Does anyone have any immediate suggestions? I may end up just picking up the same phone just because it works for me but if I can find something new that'd be good too just to break up the norm a little. At first I was looking at the LG TG800 (GSM "Chocolate") and the Razr but i've read bad th

Congrats on the new gadget. I think all the portable video players are an amazing feat of design from an engineering standpoint however I don't think i'll be buying one just because I have nowhere to watch shows/vidcasts when i'm not at the computer or in front of the TV. I suppose it would be good if you had a long subway commute but I usually just listen to music and read up on the upcoming lecture to be prepared instead.

Of course. Rudolph's nose has to be protected... Thanks for the advice, I think a few of mine are due for replacement here, i've been getting a little lazy lately with the backing up and protection but now that finals are over its time to play catch-up.

I listened to the whole clip. I believe it is somewhere around 27 min. The easiest way I could think to explain it would be you're quoting 0.002 CENTS per KB used. The guy used x (I don't remember what the actual number was) KB of data, therefore you multiply that by 0.002 Cents/KB and you get 71.40 CENTS that are to be paid, not $71.40. You're multiplyng 0.002 Cents/KB by x number of KB...you therefore get a figure in Cents and not Dollars. It looks like they're being tripped up by the fact that $0.002 Dollars is not the same thign as 0.002 Cents even though to some people it seems like it i

Uh, oh.....a case of "beer goggles?"..... Let me guess...you never go to bed with the ugly ones? You only wake up with them?
-
Thought of another one; warm beer. Also, finals week; can you tell i'm studying my butt off as i'm inside on a Friday night?
-
Ewww that is the worst. I personally can't stand cold soup but know people who swear by it. Go figure.

I didn't have a lot of trouble finding any of them, all found in under 30 seconds. Then again i've always had great eyesight. Everyone in the family has glasses except me (even those younger than me) and most needed glasses at a fairly young age. Guess it skipped a generation haha.

Very sad news, I just saw the news while taking a break from finals studying. My thoughts go out to his family.

Happy Birthdays to both of you!

I loved Halloween as a small kid and still do now that i'm 18 haha. The only thing being I had a physics midterm until 8:00 tonight and when I got home I handed out candy. Not to say I didn't eat my fair share, but Halloween is deffinitely not the same when you have an exam that runs till 8

Wow, that was brutal. I feel sorry for him not being able to hang up. He does have a good point though. "When I don't want to talk to telemarketers I just tend to hang up."

Arizona is a really nice place. I have relatives just outside Phoenix and they're loving it there. It has been a while since I went for a visit but it was awesome for the few weeks that I spent with them.

I've seen that before also, however it doesn't seem to really affect me. I borrowed a friends Xbox while he was out of town for a month and while I did play it a lot I never seemed to play for more than 1 hour a day maximum (often times less). I'm looking at the 360 as also a way to be able to stream content from my computer in the den to the TV in the living room.
