Hey Everyone, I have been discussing this with the Admin/Mod team here at BestTechie for a little bit now and finally gotten around to implementing these BestTechie Contributor subscriptions for the forums. We currently have two types of subscriptions - yearly and lifetime. The yearly subscription is just $25/year and the lifetime subscription is a one time fee of $65. The image is on the blog post - the results aren't from a wiki (that's just the name). The wiki comes in because of the fact you can comment and view others comments. B

Has anyone seen the new Google features -- SearchWiki? What do you think about them? Would you use them? I personally think it's an excellent idea to allow users to tailor their own results better for their needs. Of course, I think Google will aggregate all this data and use it, but I personally don't mind if it will make my searching more effective and allow me to find stuff easier. I wrote a small article on them here (with a screen shot included) http://www.besttechie.net/2008/11/20/googl...s-new-features/ B

Well, I can't say I was in shock or angry really...I mean, it is a good idea and I expected it to be done by someone eventually (if it wasn't me) it was just a matter of when it would happen. I'll definitely be keeping an eye on them to see how they turn out. B

As most of you know I was working on a project this past year, however, I dropped the project over the summer due to lack of funding. Last Thursday, there was an article in the Wall Street Journal which talked about a new site called VideoSurf.com - it's a video search engine. This was my idea! I couldn't believe it! However, I wanted to take it a step further and include images and audio to create a complete multimedia search engine with social network capabilities so you could share, favorite, create playlists, and organize all your media content in one location. I just thought I would let e

Hey! Congratulations man! Even after all these years I still get a bit jittery during the process. Guess it's because it only happens every couple of years (or more). Thanks!

Yeah, I literally got in and out within 10 minutes here. No lines at all. Good first experience! I was a little anxious/nervous never having done it before - didn't want to screw up! B

I voted too! This was my first election ever. I'm very excited about it. B

Oh geez. That's scary, because some people would definitely fall for that. I'm curious though if that was also displayed within Firefox? B

That is definitely a server end issue. The admin of that site must be in denial. It appears this site is hosted on a shared hosting solution (I may be wrong, but) and chances are the server itself is being overloaded by the hosting company - e.g. it has too many sites on the box. Unfortunately that is not uncommon with shared hosting plans. B

Wouldn't be a first. Paul seriously provokes these guys sometimes. B

I wrote this article a few minutes ago - I'd like to hear everyone's thoughts. http://www.besttechie.net/2008/10/15/why-d...-windows-vista/ So why don't you like Vista? Better yet, if you do like Vista, why? Also, what would you like to see/have to see in Windows 7 to make you switch? Just looking to compile a list of reasons. B

It's been roughly 70 here all week except for last Monday which was in the 50-60's. I can't wait for the snow! Nice picture! B

Nice one! I'm going to move this to the comedy club though - they can probably help with the car. B

Do you need help? I saw you had posted a HijackThis log and have now removed it. If you still need assistance, let us know. We are all volunteers here and do this with our free time and unfortunately the malware removal staff here is currently being swamped with others who are infected with malware such as yourself, they will reply as soon as they can. Are you running IPB 2.3.6, Sarah? I'm trying to figure out if FURL is having issues with the latest version of IPB or if it was an implementation error. B
