Just because something is more popular doesn't mean it's necessarily always better. Example, just look at Norton Anti-Virus. It is very popular, but, not necessarily the best. B haha its sure as heck isn't on CNET http://www.download.com/Norton-AntiVirus-2...html#userreview Newsflash: The world doesn't revolve around CNET - not sure if you knew that. B

# 10 while on the general list it is 49 Your point? I don't see why you're fighting the facts. B
-
Don't make demands, it won't get you far here (or anywhere, rather). B
-
I also should note SpywareBlaster is on the top 10 security software downloads as number 9. B
-
In fact, MBAM is number 8 currently for most popular software and number 5 for most popular security software. B
-
If you paid attention to Download.com MBAM was just on the front page a week or so ago. B
-
MBAM is also much newer thus the popularity differences. Nonetheless, MBAM's detection rates are much better (higher) and definitions are constantly updated (multiple times a day). It is by far the most advanced anti-malware application on the market to date. B
-
And Spybot and AdAware are complete garbage compared to other anti-malware applications out today such as Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware. B
-
Actually, it doesn't - it's very light on resources and highly recommended throughout the anti-malware community. B

Are you referring to SearchWiki? B

Separate Wallpapers For Seperate Displays In Vista

It's not free. B -
Well, that certainly explains this approach Google has started to take recently then... That's generally used for Malware-related sites, however, I'm sure it can and will be adopted for phishing sites in the future. By the way, that's not how Google works (noting your reference above to less clicked links). B
-
So you're saying Microsoft and Mozilla implemented Anti-Phishing techniques in their browsers for the hell of it (e.g. a semi-non-existent problem)? B

He's Mr. Admin to you. B

Correct. You are comparing yourself to someone who has limited knowledge of computers and Internet security - you cannot do that (well, you could, but it's not fair as most people do not have the same skill set as you, me, or most people on this forum). As you acknowledged in another post most of computer users are ignorant and do not know what they are actually doing other than perhaps checking their email and playing Slingo online. How do you think those Paypal/bank/credit card scams work? People do not know any better. As you point out below they are both related to Internet securi

Deleting Temporary Internet Files
Besttechie replied to shanenin's topic in Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista, and XP
Additionally, I'm not going to waste my time bickering with you over technicalities. It's not worth either of our time. However, I suggest you read over our Terms of Use before you make another post and familiarize yourself with it. -

First off, a tracking cookie is not necessarily bad as you mention, nonetheless, not everyone wants them. I personally do not mind them, but we cannot speak in absolutes as everyone has different privacy expectations. Lastly, if you read my post you would see I said "during the removal process" - it's a step taken during the process, not the only step. B -
Deleting Temporary Internet Files

Actually, you're wrong. It has a lot to do with it. There are a number of trojans, viruses, malware files, and tracking cookies that reside in temp folders. Therefore it is a necessary tool (ATF Cleaner) to use during the removal process. B -

Personal preference or not, you will find that in the anti-malware communities that ATF-Cleaner is the preferred temp file cleaner of choice. Not only does it work, but it's very simple and easy to use. It does what it should, nothing more, nothing less. When you're working on a machine remotely, you don't have the potential option for something to go wrong as you're not there to fix it. B -

You do realize a number of these can be done without registry changes? B -

Ok? I have seen CCleaner do some pretty bad damage to machine's by removing system files/necessary files. I do not recommend it, period. Just because it's a more "well-known" application doesn't make it better. B -

No, use ATF Cleaner - it's much safer and does the same job. It does. Use ATF Cleaner. -

Ultramon will allow you to do this - I used it when I was using Windows. In addition, you will be able to extend your taskbar to the other monitor and a number of other useful functions. B
