Welcome (back)! Hope to see you around! B

In the past, I have both praised and criticized Twitter with regard to its ability to drive traffic to a website. There is no question that Twitter is one of the all-time great link juicing tools out there. It may be the best, most legitimate, and most effective link juicing tool ever created, especially if you have a large following and with the integration into search engines such as Google and Bing. But something that has been bothering me for the past year or so (since Twitter really exploded) is does Twitter really bring any long-term and/or residual traffic to a website. Full article

Apple announced Safari 5 this year at WWDC. If you are an avid Safari user, you should definitely upgrade to the latest version. If you have drifted away from Safari, this update is definitely worth the time to try out. More details in the article: http://www.besttechie.net/2010/06/11/safari-5-whats-new/ B

Really? Wow. That's amazing. How much data do you normally use per month? B

Today, AT&T announced their new data plans to the public, the new plans are available as a 200MB DataPlus plan for $15 per month, and the 2GB DataPro plan for $25 per month. If you go over your allowed usage, data will be charged at $15 per 200MB on the DataPlus, and $10 per GB on the DataPro. In addition, iPhone users can purchase a tethering option for an additional $20/month, but no extra transfer is provided. Existing customers on the unlimited data plan are grandfathered in and can keep it as long as they have their account. A lot of people seem to be up in arms about all of this –

I hope so too, Pete. I'm not worried, I have some good stuff planned and I'm looking to integrate the forums, blog, and chat better. I'd love for interaction to increase at all three places - I don't want people to feel like they are three different worlds (blog, forums, chat). I sometimes get that feel that people seem to feel like they're just a forum member or a blog reader or chat room user, instead of feeling like they are a BestTechie community member. For too long it seems that have been imaginary boundaries, I'm not sure if that's my fault or just some weird thing that happened. E

Yep. Everything is correct now. I got to thinking and I think the problem with the backup occurred because the drives failed during the backup process which then corrupted the backup. What's done is done though. B

Well, we’re back. It has been over two weeks, but I think the downtime will be beneficial in the end. While that may seem like an odd thing to say, it has allowed me to have a lot of much needed time off from the site. In the past few weeks, I have been able to relax and just enjoy time spent doing nothing. Something I previously, never could get myself to do. Before this entire fiasco, I was working on some market research (which I will continue to do now that everything is back online) to help improve BestTechie. I have already received a number of responses which I’m currently analyzing an

Foursquare is a geo-location based service that allows people to easily check-in to places. While it may sound rather stupid put so plainly, it is so addicting. I avoided foursquare for a number of months … Full Article: http://www.besttechie.net/2009/12/28/foursquare-review-why-you-should-use-it/ B CrunchBase InformationfoursquareInformation provided by CrunchBase

As we move closer to January 2010, the much anticipated Apple Tablet is starting to seem even more real every day (even though nothing has been confirmed). It has made several top gadget lists for 2010 including our own and for what reason? We know nothing about it, yet it is intriguing us and making us drool to no end. I’ve been thinking about the possibilities of this mythical tablet device, trying to figure out what about it (if it even exists) makes it seem so awesome. Apple may be releasing an 8GB version of the iPhone 3GS to replace the $99 iPhone 3G perhaps as early as January. According to reports by Apple Insider, one German customer who purchased a refurbished 8GB iPhone 3G found a label on the back that said “iPhone 3GS v2.2, 8GB.” The model number, A1241, and part number, MB490DN/A, are identical to the existing iPhone 3G, however no other materials on the packaging mention an 8GB iPhone 3GS. WTT is owned by Blair of G2G, but I believe they still have a school. I would probably recommend going with GeekU.

There were only 500 copies made of these ever. These are from the first pressing of the album. I was lucky enough to get 4 different vinyls from the first pressing thanks to Mandy! If you are interested, you can get the second pressing here: http://mightierthansword.bigcartel.com/product/blink-182-br-enema-of-the-state-br-lp-2nd-pressing B

I wrote this article yesterday as a preface to an upcoming article I'm working on about CDN's and how I just setup one for BestTechie. Read full article here: http://www.besttechie.net/2009/12/20/what-is-a-cdn-content-delivery-network/ B

I wrote this post the other day and I also wanted to share it here for those who don't read the blog often. Let me preface this post by stating a few things: I’m well-aware that no one is entitled to anything on the Internet. I know that these industry blogs (e.g. TechCrunch, Mashable, etc.) probably receive several hundred of emails per day with tips, news, and attempts for press coverage. I also know that decisions with regard to what will be covered and what won’t be have to be made (and obviously not everything can or should be given press coverage). Lastly, I know I’m not some extremel
